Sensible Shoes

I am outside first thing in the morning, doing my daily chores!

Dressed in my purple PJ'S
And my old Birkenstocks...

Not a pretty sight
(What the Heck, I live in the boonies)
SERIOUSLY!!

We have been having terrible dirt storms, with high winds.
The wind has blown all the patio furniture over and tree limbs are everywhere.

So, I am out there bending over to pick up all the down limbs of the trees and all
Of a sudden I am falling head over onto the sidewalk.

I crash like a Big Redwood Tree;  Smash , Bang, Boom.

I am laying there thinking!!!
Oh My God Old people really do just fall down!!
Ok Jesus;  Did I break anything?
I move my hand, ouchy.
My hip is banged up!
Ankle is tweaked...

Thank you Jesus, nothing is broken !!

Now, Everyone around here is still sound asleep.
Good, No one saw that silly purple looking heap laying down on the ground
Between our homes.
First thing in the morning,
Like I needed a nap already!

I hauled myself up and I proceeded to drag myself into my house
 Then...
I threw my Birckonstock's in the trash !!
I vow to only wear sensible shoes from this day forward.

But wait!!
I really love cute shoes.
I promise to be more careful.

What is this a lady in a red high heel shoe with an ace bandage on??

Oh My!!

Blessings,

  1. LOL, Roxy- Well...not LAUGHING...but snickering a bit at the picture you painted here. Sorry, I am not a good supportive non-laughing friend. I am the type of person that laughs when my husband walks into a wall....yes.he.has.

Anyway, glad nothing is broken-that is a good thing and your pride is intact because no one saw you...coulda been a whole lot worse-think fire department coming cuz -"Help, I've fallen and I can't get up". okay...I'll quit now. xo Diana oh-ps. I only wear flats anymore myself

  4. Hahahaha Rox... I mean I guess I shouldn't be laughing, but really, I can just see this picture in my head, and if it were a movie, I would be laughing. I don't own any sensible shoes like that, except my hiking boots, and well... I never wear them unless I really have to. Do you think flip flops count? I love the redboots with the ace bandage... that was good. People really can make a style out of " ugly", and I guess if you are stylish enough, you can pull it off. Well, I hope you feel better, and get to the chiropractor tomorrow. May the Lord bless you with a touch that strengthens and heals.
    Much Love,
    Pam

  5. Hee-hee.... Funny stuff! Not really, but yes.... I'm glad we weren't all outside to see you laying on the ground! There is nothing wrong with sensible shoes, just look for some cute ones!! And, that is why I bought new sandals with straps ( So I don't accidentally trip over something)
Glad you are on the mend now!
    Love ya,
    Amy

  6. Been there, done that!
I broke my ankle a few years ago (9 to be exact)in 3 places. It was bad... the bone sticking out and my heel broke off. It's never been the same. So.... whatever you do... take falling or tripping seriously. Wish I had. I LOVE shoes!! but now I can only wear them for a little while. My foot still swells most every day.
I broke it wearing fancy boots. I will never wear boots again.
Glad to hear that you were lucky! No breaks.
    Have a wonderful week.
