Adventure...

Leaving and getting away from our everyday routines are very good for us!
Sometimes you may not be able to go really far and travel to a distant place.
But you can almost always take a day trip somewhere!

Pack up and make a plan...
Arrange something special, put some thought into a little get away!

It is very important to do these little trips as they will keep you,
Happy and interested in living a life filled with sights and people,
With a bit of a change in your daily routine.

If you can splurge; spend a night in a hotel in another city!
Or call some friends or maybe a relative that live out of town,
And go visit them!

Or pack a beautiful picnic lunch, and go visit a free museum in your area.

My Hubby and I enjoy looking at little antique shops or a thrift store,
When we travel anywhere.

Sometimes we must just get inspired and get away, by just reading a good book!
We are told to think of the things, that are lovely...

Look about your heart and HOME and bring the spark of life;
Beauty and music and a lovely dinner, can help us feel
Loved and inspired no matter the seasons.

I believe it is the time to do a new thing;
Spring into thoughts of life and hope!

Make a plan and do something fun;
Go see a play in your city or town!
Go see an Art display!
Spend a day just dreaming and planning for something special for the future.
Sometimes just having something to look forward to can be quite uplifting!

Encourage yourself in the Lord...

  1. Hi Roxy, You are so right! John is not able to travel far, but we often make a date out of walking through a thrift store or sitting by the lake to eat an ice cream. It's very uplifting to get out and about and enjoy God's blessings.

    Wishing you a great day.

  2. As we get older, our world get smaller. Great ideas to get out there and enjoy.
    I have a motto, say YES!
    If someone asks you to do something, anything, always say yes.
    It's a great way to get out there. It's so easy to say, no. But YES is more exciting.

  4. I think you are right about this one. It doesn't take much and it doesn't have to cost a lot of money. For us it can be a simple walk in the city gardens or a day trip to a nearby town.

  5. I have a little adventure coming up.. it's work related but going to fun as I am styling a wedding .. setting tables is something I love so it is really the business of bliss. And my husband is coming with me to help. It really is a family business. We have to stay for a couple of nights as it is quite some distance to travel. We will set up the tables the day before and after checking things are all perfect on the morning we will be free to go and explore the little towns over that way and they happen to have some lovely antique and thrift stores... that is something my husband and I really enjoy doing together! So happy to have a business that allows us to be together. You have given such wonderful advice Roxy. Wish I had followed this when we were younger too!

  7. Oh yes, Roxy just getting away does wonders for the soul. I love seeing other places. Little quaint villages are my fav. Hubby and I do it every now and then. Also great for a marriage. And when you get away it makes you happy to return to your own special abode.
    hugs,

  8. Yes, we are planning a weekend getaway to occur soon. It has been a long and dismal winter here and we need refreshment! But we always enjoy our time together, even at home.

  11. Hello There!

    This is such a timely post! I'm thinking we think on the same wave link or something. This time of year is always the hardest for me. It's dry, brown and dusty out and it's not quite warm just yet and we tend to get in a rut that we can't seem to dig out from. I was just telling my hubby that it's time to plan a mini trip somewhere or to just whisk me away on a date night. Or I might just have a wee bit of a fit. Ha!

    We never should be just happy to stay home, we always need to have a plan to get us out of the same ol same ol routine!

    Thanks for sharing!

    I hope you are enjoying your time in town and haven't blown to Kansas or something...

    Love ya,
    Amy

  12. Dear Roxy,

    What a beautiful blog you have here! I'm so glad that you linked-up at Beauty Observed! Thank you!

    Your post is full of words that I love! Lovely, beauty, art, music, museum, antique.

    This winter has been very long and cold. I think I need a day of loveliness to beat this cabin fever!

    I will be back. I will also visit the wonderful ladies you have listed in your sidebar. Thank you for the invitation. :)

  13. Inspiring as always. Lowell was going to take me to a marriage retreat this weekend, but I don't feel up to it yet. I hope we can get away overnight next month to celebrate our anniversary. We spent last anniversary at the chemo center getting my first infusion. Not fun.
    Blessings,
    Laura
