God rebuked me with this passage once after I indulged in the sin of gossip. I love the sound of silence, also love when my daughter thanks me for being a kind and gentle mom (on the good days!)Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04017169723889529653noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4591712229039680133.post-59534739389131510562014-05-20T18:04:22.332-06:002014-05-20T18:04:22.332-06:00Roxy ~

James 3, of course, exhorts us to tame our tongue that small member that can bless or curse. So many scriptures exhorting us to control this small member of our body, of which that remaining flesh rises up and out of at times.

Thanks for the lovely reminder and encouragement to count our words...quiet versus being a loud, clanging cymbal.

Blessings,

Season of Lifehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11767751705361957453noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4591712229039680133.post-29776612489501234062014-05-20T07:01:17.047-06:002014-05-20T07:01:17.047-06:00Yes it is so true; the power in the tongue works ...Yes it is so true; the power in the tongue works good or evil. I have been the recipient of both and I have learned that everything that comes into my head does not need to be said… it wants to be, but much of it needs to be filtered and brought captive, be quieted or let go of. Listen, love, enjoy speak less… I'm still working on this.
Love and Blessings,
PamPamhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17962395509313703071noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4591712229039680133.post-13764569796807927552014-05-19T22:54:50.720-06:002014-05-19T22:54:50.720-06:00Truth! I wrote Ephesians 4:29 over my desk everywhere I ever worked, "Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouth but only what it necessary for building others up that it may benefit those who listen." My mama always used this verse to tell me how what we say not can hurt the person we talk about but also the one who listens, because at that time they begin to think a certain way based on what you say. Thanks for the reminder. The tongue can cause terrible pain and even when they are apologized for, the words can remain in the memory. It is so important to think before we speak and be a blessing rather than a cause of distress. Thanks for this great reminder!

Blessings, JoanJoan Davis (Jo)https://www.blogger.com/profile/02305888520649862063noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4591712229039680133.post-74166562347634006382014-05-19T17:09:25.077-06:002014-05-19T17:09:25.077-06:00Mouth control is much better than damage control, ...Mouth control is much better than damage control, something I have had to learn the hard way I am afraid.Maryannhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05147215921425305908noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4591712229039680133.post-8850302875012404252014-05-19T16:18:28.408-06:002014-05-19T16:18:28.408-06:00I do think it is true, Roxy.
