Sharing A Dollar Tree Bargain...

Sponges From The Dollar Tree, Living From Glory To Glory Blog...

Sharing A Dollar Tree Bargain...

Sponges in the kitchen;

Use a clean one every day!
Keep the sponge away from raw meat!
(If you are wiping up raw meat juice use a paper towel and throw away)
Do not keep them around for too long!
They say you can put a damp sponge in the microwave for One minute
(To Kill Bacteria)
But, with these very inexpensive sponges you can use a new one!!

Using a sponge in the kitchen is still a good tool;
Just be mindful of using a clean one every day!

On this same train of thought,
 Always use a clean dish cloth and towel every day!

And always keep clean rags available for cleaning up spills.

Also, I think you should have separate towels for hands and dishes!
I personally prefer to allow my pots and pans to air dry!

~Here is the clip showing the sponges I buy from Dollar Tree~

Lovely Table Coverings And A few Things To Make The Home Cozy...

I Truly Think That Doing This One Thing Makes A Home So Cozy

Using a pretty material of a fabric that accentuates your room's color or style,
Can make a table look very nice!
 or lace can just make a room look elegant!

I have seen a movement in many ways to remove all the fluff in one's home.

I understand that too much clutter is a bit much;
But I have covered many of my end tables and dresser tops;
And I have found it much easier to clean them.
Just take things off it and give the covering a good shake outside.

Also, you do not have to add so many knicknacks as the covering
 Decorates it for you!

Finding the pretty fabrics and lace is all a part of the fun!

Being on the lookout for these at yard sales and second hand stores.
Wash and iron them and maybe a bit of altering, and it will fit each
top perfectly, and you can even find different colors or design and patterns.

I have been working on a plan for keeping my home interesting!
Clean and organized, but useful and allow myself to surround
myself with the things I love and use!

My many different yarns!
A boat load of Washi tape and beautiful stickers!
Books!!
My piano that takes up a whole wall!
A doggy bed that it blush pink for Natash my Red toy poodle!
Pretties hanging on the wall!
A rocking chair that rocks away my stress...

Small comforts, pay big dividends!

Mercy Is The Seat I Desire To Sit Upon...

A Tea Party, Living from glory to glory blog...

Afternoon Tea

Sometimes we need to remind ourselves of how important it is
To have a few friends of whom we love and to gather them together.

But, we are living in a different time.
So as I have seen even myself have the desire to stay closer to home;
I am still going to take a little portion of each day and dedicate it to a
time to rest and relax and to think home-living thoughts!
To look at a magazine that inspires me to make my home lovely and cozy!
To look about as to what I might change around.

Or to sit with a pen and paper in hand and write down some ideas!
Recipe's, craft ideas, letters to a friend.

Everyday I try to do a little something to make my house special!

Keeping one's heart soft and tender!

As women we have so many areas to manage;
When you were a young Mother and homemaker you had
Different responsibilities and desires!

And as we are still homemakers we are still called to manage our homes!
House Wife and A Home Maker...

Living means making your life and home
a memorable experience!

Live your life and forget your age;
Young or Old you bring wisdom and hope and joy!

Mercy is the seat I desire to sit upon;
For myself and for others!

Journal my days so all will not be forgotten!

A few hours given to your heart of hearts will provide wealth!
A treasury stored up with little things!
The cool breeze blowing the curtains
The sun shining upon the kitchen table.
The words of encouragement you received or gave...

We could travel the world over looking for beauty;
But, better to look within one's own Home!

Sending each of you a hearty hello!
We are weary at times, but encourage yourself in the Lord!

Always, living From Glory To Glory

Learning To Use A Day Planner...

Learning to Use A Day Planner Book, Living from glory to glory blog...

Time...

I am very excited about something that I have just started doing;
I am sure many of you have been doing it for a very long time.

But I just went to Hobby Lobby and bought a Day Planner!

It is very feminine in color and style
It came with stickers and a setup of  the months and weeks!
It has To Do List
Agendas
Goals
Important Dates
At A Glance
Daily Chores

But as we all know that being flexible is key!
Staying on task is important, but being available is so important!
I will be working on this to get an idea for each day and week,
For a plan that works for me!
"I will be using a pencil, just in case I need to erase"
(Smiles)

Spring has arrived once again in this part of the world!
What I need is a fresh start...

Fresh ideas for meal planning!
Fresh ideas for reorganizing my home.
Fresh ideas for my blog...
(Many women no longer care about being a Titus 2 Woman)
Fresh ideas to not be distracted
Fresh bread instead of the crumbs left behind in the shag carpet!
(Many years ago we all had this type of flooring)

 Many of us do not even have time to stop and read a blog post!

So, Learning to use this Day Planner will be a good fresh start!
Firstly, I will reassess what I have been doing now,
And what truly needs to be done during this season!

I hope to share a few new ideas for this planner soon!
"It's all Greek to me"

On the HOME front...
~My beloved kitty died yesterday, she was 13 years old~
I will miss her very much, the house feels empty without her!
~Jasmine~

I can hear the Meadow Larks singing each day now!

My Internet has been down, or moving at a snails pace.
You may ask why don't I comment?
Well, it is nearly impossible most days...

I wish you all a very Happy Season!!

Do you use a Day Planner??

Learn To Gather When Things Are In Abundance...

Being Frugal, Living From Glory To Glory Blog

Gathering when things are in abundance...

We will all experience lean times!
It may be in our finances or it might be in our health or emotions!

You can become weary at times and that is why we are told to
"Not grow weary while doing good"

I have learned to be quick when something is in abundance.
At these moments and seasons do not last forever.

These blueberries are in abundance!

Take them and wash them and freeze them for use in the long winter months.

We need to learn to gather things when they are their cheapest;
And are in the peak of the season!

It is hard to spend almost five dollars on blueberries in the winter,
When you can get them for very little now!

When we stop to think about how everything comes in short spurts.
That is why it is so important to enjoy and gather and things in season.

Yes, I am talking about blueberries right now;
But I think this applies to everything else!

Alone times with loved ones;
Place those memories in your heart and those sweet little notes or gifts;
Treasure them!

For there will come a day that everyone is going to work
 Or busy with their own lives!
Our little ones do not stay little for long!

The peace in a day when it is not storming and foul weather is brewing;
Take comfort with the warm sunshine on your face!

You will not always have to plow your fields;
Some day a harvest will come and fill your basket to overflowing!

I realize everyone wants real;
But there are times we need to be pampered and enjoy.
It might be a quiet walk for just yourself;
It could be your quiet time in the morning!

We need to gather in the calm!
For when the lean times might hit, you my dear will have an abundance
Stashed away for a time such as this!

I think that a wise woman will take the time to put back!
It can be money or gifts bought or made from very little.
Foods purchased when were cheap in cost;
Then you have it to use when there is a need.

And if you are able to only shop less often you will save money!
Every time you go into a store, you will buy something!
Be aware of the Dollar Store you run in for a card;
And come out with all these little things you could do without!

Each pay day, try putting something back in your stash!
It may be food item or even a yard of fabric.

These learned ways of being wise or frugal;
Is what allows us to stay home and be keepers of our homes!

Have you noticed so much waste in our world?
At least our food scraps go to our chickens!
Just finding ways to make things last and to be there in a time of need!

Do you think your husband would say that you are being
Frugal and wise with your income?

Do you always find yourself in a bind;
 When it is a Birthday
or the holidays?

We can all find ways to save and to be wise!

How To Use Old Useless Stuff To Create A Charming Yard...

There is just something so charming about old vintage bicycles.

Days of summer fun and places to explore!
A mode of transportation to school or a friend's house.

I wish we had kept all those old bicycles from our childhood days!
Or maybe of the ones we had of our older brother and sisters.

I think these old charmers are getting harder and harder to find.
This little beauty is in my sisters garden area;
She has a huge flower garden and it just adds an ambiance to the natural landscape!

I have tried many different items in my flower gardens to add charm!
Old metal tubs and vintage plates places in the soil sticking half way up.
Old cowboy boots and old boxes and planters!

I truly love finding old wheelbarrows and placing them around our estate.

We use to even place old bottles and cans in some of the smaller dry beds!

Learning to use an imagination and decorating outside of the box!

After the end of our summer season, I gather most of the items and
we store them in an old log cabin out back.
It stops some of the fading and wear during the long winter.
Then when spring comes again we pull everything out and place it in all the
different spots to add color and interesting schemes.

We have a lot of the old metal chairs and we have painted most of them all red!

I think having a lovely yard and some unique decorating pieces is fun!

Everything takes work and time!
But if we keep our eyes open while at goodwill or garage sales;
You can find some great treasure for yard decorations!

Just remember to keep your yards clean and filled with garden charm!

Sweep of your sidewalks and fill planters with flowers!

Outside work can help keep you fit and a bit strength building!

This is such a easy way to make your home look inviting and charming!
Pick a couple of colors that match your outside scheme;
Then paint fences or tins or planters to match;
Doing it now is a good time to get a jump start on it!

Make it fun and ask others to keep and eye out for what you're looking for!

I have used broken off shovels and pitchforks, they really look nice!

I have gone down to the river bottom and brought home
old stumps and large limbs that are weathered and look wonderful!

Even a large rock placed in the right place looks good!

My kids when they were young or may still say it now (smiles)
What the heck are you going to do with that old thing MOTHER...

I have many old farm implements and have spray painted some of them bright red.

Country, cozy and cheap and so filled with charm!

Old birdhouses and birdbaths are lovely!

Any type of fencing can look vintage and charming...
Paint it or stain it!

Plant seeds every spring as you never know what might just take off!
Remember to try to plant a few new bulbs each fall!

I believe we can take what God has given us and make it a little slice of Eden...

Small yard or extra large you can make it pretty and lovely!

Why We Need To Keep Our Homes Free Of Feeling Like They Are A Museum...

Victorian lady, Living From Glory To Glory Blog

As a woman I tend to lean into pinks and whites with my color in vintage pictures!

Yet in my own home, I tend to have earth tones in my living room.

French country in my kitchen (Yellows, Blue and Sage Green and Beige)

Country Kitchen, Living From Glory To Glory Blog...

My Husbands Den is done in browns and all dark wood.
Burgundy color chair and love seat; two horse blankets
And a bit of cowboy style with a bit of iron wall art.

But I do have my sewing and craft room done in pinks and frills...
And in rose patterns and vintage decor and vintage pictures.

Sewing Room, Living From Glory To Glory Blog

When I look at vintage pictures of days gone by, I can't help but feel that
Things appeared to be more gentle and lovely.

I always like to surround myself with things that make me feel comfy and cozy!
Make your home a haven of rest and beauty...

I think one thing I always try to incorporate is this in my home;
A place that does not feel overly girlish for my husbands taste.
He enjoys things to be neat and everything to have its place.
But he does enjoy my taste in making things look classy and lovely.

When we can take our homes and allow our taste in decor and match it with
Our husbands taste and preference, it makes it perfect for each of us!

Clean and comfy and cozy are the real decorating style we need...

Having good taste and style will look different for each of us.
I enjoy changing things up once in a while!
Changing out some of the furniture, or moving an end table,
Can be a nice difference in any room.
I have sprayed painted old lamps, and I have changed out pictures.

Keep your home fresh and not too girlish or plain or overly stuffed!

Our husbands do not want to feel like they are in a museum either!

Happy Homemaking!

Why I Love Linens And Lace...

Living From Glory To Glory Blog

There are just some things that just seem like whoever made or designed them
 had a special purpose in mind. And I have always appreciated their effort!

When you take the time to add something that brings just that little pop.

I little tablecloth or doily or table runner just does that in my home!

I also enjoy a nice set of kitchen towels or bathroom towels.

On a few of my widows I have the actual drapes or curtains,
 but I also like to add a lace valance, or a matching fabric for that
extra fullness and touch.

I enjoy keeping my home and rooms in order,
 but it really is just a few little things that make it
cozy and homey!

I enjoy looking at magazines or an antique shop and see how they
Have arranged some of their items on bookcases and end tables and
China hutches. Also, just a word of caution, we can overdo and have
things start to look cluttered.

I do have a drawer that I keep my linens and doilies and table coverings in.
I have a few that I use in the fall and winter months;
And some that are for spring and summer!

I have some things that I have found at thrift stores and antique shops.
I also have some that belonged to my grandmother and mother.

I always try to wash these linens and doilies on a gentle cycle and line dry them!

Every now and again, I will go through these and give a few away!
My sister has always wrapped a gift for me in a nice linen or lace.
And she adds a pretty ribbon and it makes a lovely way to wrap up a gift!

I also try not to make things too frilly or girly as my husband
enjoys more natural colors. He has a great taste in color and design.
Seriously, he has great taste!
I think it is important to ask their opinion on what they like.
But if he says whatever you like dear, then go for it!

I little bit of both and in different rooms you can do a bit different in each!
A little paint and a new throw rug can jazz up any space!

~This is the perfect time of the year to keep an eye out for a few pretty treasures~

Living The Dream...

Living From Glory To Glory Blog

Living The Dream...

My dream was to marry and have children and to live in the country!

I know that this dream was given to me by the hand of the Lord;
I am so thankful the Lord gave me a husband that wanted to be
Married and have a family. I think in this world we have so many,
Younger couples that never even plan to marry or to have children.

I heard a friend of mine say recently that she was lonely
 as she also lives in the country, but she said a very interesting come back;
I guess we would be just as lonely in the city...

It is really very true, as so many people do not even know they're
Own neighbors!

I really enjoy the quiet and solitude that the space provides.

Sometimes it does feel lonely;
But I think after we have been in town every day for a week;
We both say in unison, it is so good to be back home.

Where are the young ladies that want marriage;
And to love and honor their husbands?

Where are the ladies who desire to have children and not wait
Till they are finished with law school?
Does anyone want to live in the country?

Well, it really does not matter where you live!
~It is how you live~

I will never regret staying married and having children!
But I think we have a generation of people that have made choices;
That will feel empty and self absorbed one day!

I heard a professional today tell me this;
We now look like a city that could be called a ghetto!
I thought "what" She said it is the way people dress and
They do not even brush their teeth!
She said it is a disgrace!

I just nodded my head and said yes, it is true!

If the Lord will put a young woman in your life that you
Might be able to steer in the right direction;
To cause her to have a heart for home and hearth!

How To Make The Kitchen Table The Center Of Your Home...

Living From Glory To Glory Blog

The Kitchen Table Is Key...

I find great joy in simple pleasures;
The other day I cleaned off my kitchen table and then polished it till it shined!
 Then I put on a fresh table cloth and a lace topper over the tablecloth.
It feels really good to see it all cleaned off and ready for another week
of meals being served. Or a cup of coffee being enjoyed with a loved one.
Place a bowl of fruit or a snack to draw them to the table!
A plate of cookies;
Cheese and crackers
Serving a meal cooked with love at your own hearth...

When the children were little we did our school work on our kitchen table.
Now I even do a little bit of studying myself.
We might read the paper through the week there also.
We pray often at our kitchen table!
Memories are made in this very place!

Your Kitchen and Table should be the welcoming spot in your home!
Keep it clean and tidy and always pleasing to the eye.
Keep napkins in the center with some fresh spices for any dish.
Sea salt, pepper, cayenne powder and hot sauce.

There is something so comforting about a kitchen!
It Is The Heart Of The Home...

Making your home cozy and welcoming is an art!
If you can keep only one spot in your home orderly and clean;
The kitchen and kitchen table is what I would suggest to you.

You can take a very worn table and chairs and paint them and recover the chairs,
To give them a new fresh appeal!
You can find table coverings for very cheap and some great linen finds also.
Check out your thrift stores.
 Also, you can find wooden table centerpieces and spray paint them.
I did this a few years ago and it was so lovely.
Everything can be an added pretty!
You can find very inexpensive place mats in a thrift store.
 Or look at your store clearance sections for seasonal items.

 I would watch using a plastic cloth with those backings as they can stick to your wood table tops. But if it is a glass or Formica then it would be okay.

It is also very nice to change out the colors and decor for the holidays.

Sometimes when I am not even sure what I am making for dinner,
I will set the table to get myself inspired.

Please encourage yourself today and get inspired!
Look in your drawers and find what you might have to use!

Practice serving your meals and snacks at the table.
Get into the habit of keeping it clean and welcoming!

Use what God has given you!
Keep your heart alive with simple home, keeping routines!

Every meal can be a time to come together as a family

How To Have Real Beauty Rest...

Living From Glory to Glory Blog

Beauty Rest...

Is is imperative to have a Bedroom that has been created to bring about;
Peaceful Calming, Sleep and Good Loving...

If your Bedroom is messy, dirty, and cluttered;
You owe it to yourself and your Hubby to rectify it immediately!

As any room in your home it must have all the elements needed,
To provide a safe and clean environment for healthy sleep and;
Pillow Talk...

You must take a whole day or more time if needed to deep clean!
Dressers and closets, gone through and organized.
A place for every item!

Also good window treatment to keep the light from coming in;
This also helps keep the room warm in the winter,
And cool in the summer!

Nightstand needs a good lamp for reading in bed!
A candle or a non-wicked candle with batteries for abeyance.
(I prefer this soft lighting)
A box of tissues, and some nice hand lotion, nail file etc.
A neat stack of out treasured books... (Smile)

Tops of dressers need to be clean and not overloaded with stuff;

As this stuff collect dust and gives you a cluttered feeling!

But it is the Bed itself that is really important here;
Clean Sheets
Soft Fluffy comforter
Pretty Bedspread
Good quality pillows

I have seen the upkeep of homes, really not a top priority anymore;
But I urge you ladies to make your bedroom into a sanctuary...
You need to change those sheets every week!!
You need to dust and vacuum under your bed;
Sleeping with dust bunnies is not healthy.

Keep a couple bedspreads that you can change it a couple times a year.

Have at least two sets of sheets so you have a clean set always ready.

If you keep your bedroom clean and organized you will have;
A place to unwind and rest and love and re-connect!

Make a real effort to keep the Bedroom your Sanctuary...

Have you done something special to make your bedroom into
A place of Rest and Beauty?

When a Man Loves A Woman...

Living from Glory to Glory Blog

When a man loves a woman...

Do you need a little cupid dust to be sprinkled upon your head?
Do you need to be squeezed and pulled into a bear hug?
Do you need someone to fan your flame?

When a man loves a woman, He loves with a deep longing that,
God put into him...
He needs a good woman!

Yes, I can hear from this side of my little screen;
You are just looking for a good man!

We need both;
Lets face it, we are seeing so much divorce and broken homes galore.
But ladies, if you could just be patient;
Wait and see if you can find that heart in your man;
Because I have some real undercover information here!

If you are married to this man called your mate;
You do have the special part that His heart is missing...
He needs a woman with more heart than looks or money!

He has a need that only you can fill!
"Trust, integrity, honor"
Wait, these are qualities that he should have!

A man needs to have a woman that is a bit above the cut!
Why?
Because it is just getting darker and harder to keep the light,
In our marriages and homes.

I know we get tired and really worn out;
But men are the targets for so many schemes and assaults out there!

I just know how much energy and time it takes
 To run a business or work a full time job...
Been there, done that!

Did not work very well for us,
But it was a training ground for me to see what it was like,
To be out in the world, and see what my husband dealt with daily!

Coming Home...
This was not just a physical move
But a spiritual one!

When a man loves a woman he wants here heart and soul;
~Even when he has not given all of his~

It's all work my dear sweet ladies;
But, just tell me where exactly you can have,
A little bit of heaven on this earth,
Without working at it??

Open up your own little bag of cupid dust...
Sprinkle a little love!
Remember, just a spoon full of sugar helps everything!

I have witnessed a love that was grown and blossomed with the strain of
Selfishness and Me syndrome.
God's word and advice for a good marriage is powerful,
Yet, sometimes it just takes time!

There is nothing more glorious that seeing a woman well loved...

What words of encouragement or advice can we give to each other?

Cozy Evenings...

Oh When The Winter Evenings Set In...

What to do in those early evenings, when it is so cold out and gets dark so early!

Learning to have contentment, even when the nights are long.
I think it feels rather cozy most nights;
But, winter can be very long as we all well know.

But I think it is important to find a few interesting and fun things,
that we can do in the evenings.

Reading is always very mindful;
But most evenings I may find myself a bit too tired to read!

I always liked the idea of having a card table set up, to have a puzzle on it!
(So you can sit for a little while and work on the puzzle)

Having a basket filled with skeins of yarn next to your chair;
Allows you a bit of creativity for a few quiet times.
( I am working on Granny Squares and scarfs)
Also dishcloths are a quick project.

A bit of television is okay,
 Watching more than one movie a night is too much!

I like to stay active, but I need something that is easy and relaxing!

Reading from the word before bed is very soothing...
Immersing ourselves in the word helps us get a peaceful nights sleep!

Maybe in the early evening you might need to check to see what is on,
 For the next day's activities.

Sometimes I will even get my clothes out and ironed and ready if
I will be leaving out very early the next morning.
(Thank God that is not very often)

Take some time and write in your Blessing Book;
(That is a special book where you write down your blessing from that day)

Realize that it is very important to rest and relax;
So we can start fresh again in the morning!

Have you ever heard the saying?
Burning the candle at both ends...

God wants us to stop and enjoy peaceful moments throughout the day.
But He also wants us to enjoy quiet and peaceful evenings and
 At Home with our loved ones!

Everything Is Just Peachy...

Living from Glory to Glory Blog
Artist: Carolina Elisabeth

Everything is just peachy...

I love life!
I heard that a lady had said I don't think I can make it for even another day.

I was thinking about that a lot today;

I am learning not to dwell on things that cause upset!
We are to think about things that will give us peace and hope.

I understand that this is not always easy!
But it is not impossible...
With God "All things are possible"

Training and disciplining our thoughts are huge!

Many women can talk themselves into a poor me attitude;
without much cause some days.
And I realize some days for women can be really overwhelming.
I don't make light of the stress of women;
I just offer a small bit of advice;
 if practiced often, It will help you manage your stress.
Stress does not magically go away;
"But rather it must not be able to control you!"

But I have learned a fine art many years ago;
And I still practice it often, almost daily.

It is this one thing;
   Stop and realize that I need to take a break and
Prepare a special cup of tea or coffee for myself.
And sit in a comfy chair and look at a magazine that inspires me.
Maybe read another chapter in a book that I am enjoying!
Skim through a recipe book for inspiration!
Write a note to a friend!

Taking a bit of time to get refreshed before I start my evening chores.
We all know how many hours we spend making meals and cleaning up!
So I try to have a little time to reflect.

So then I can enjoy the evening meal and the fellowship!

Enjoy these long winter nights!
Stay warm and get ready for some holiday company!
Enjoy this season!

May you never feel that you can not make it through another day!

Remember, even David had to encourage himself in the Lord...

Video Butt Babies...

Living from Glory to Glory Blog

Video Butt Babies...

Remember Captain Kangaroo?
And Mr Greenjeans?

Okay, I have truly dated myself here!
If you do remember this program, I just need to ask one question.
 When they looked into the hand held mirror, did they
Ever see you watching the program and call out your name?

Well, I watched it often and no, not once did they ever see
A Roxy watching...
I tell you it was rigged!

Children...
Impressionable, fully trusting!
Always watching and absorbing!
Hearts open and tender...

Now there is nothing wrong with allowing a little teaching,
From Television programs or video games.

It is the full time sitting on your BUTT parenting going on that
 really shocks me and makes me so sad for the children!

Because, as they watch these types of learning programs,
they have no way to respond or use all their senses to engage.

And ALL Video games are causing some learning blocks for children.

We are built to watch, hear and respond!

The first thing most children do anymore once they awake
Is turn on the television!

Maybe we have gone to such an extreme measure of using
a television for education and free babysitter.

 We have lost the vision ourselves...

We must take time to instruct and train our children!

Watching television and video games will make your children
Cranky and listless and agitated!

We have a mind and body connection!

Too much of this kind of entertainment causes violence!!

I have noticed children younger and younger
 Having rounder and larger behinds!
Why are we seeing this;
They sit on their Butts all day long...
In school than at home!

Oh, don't worry, You're never home you say??

Have a smart phone (stupid phone)
No worries, you can play a game or watch anything you want
Anytime or anywhere...

Wake up!!
Read a BOOK...
Play outside...
Let a healthy imagination, develop their minds and gifts
Not video games and television.
