Strong Coffee Or Weak Tea...

Needing some really strong coffee...

Sometimes we just need a really strong word!
Wake up and smell the coffee is a saying that must mean something;
Right??

I was away for a long time and we had strong coffee every morning.
When I got back home, I made me my usual cup of hot tea;
It tasted like water!
So this morning I will have the real stuff;
Rich dark color and the scent is heavenly.
Coffee beans from Guatemala.

Just for the record, I feel that I do take time to smell the coffee!
But I have just entered a season that is unfamiliar to me;
Maybe it was the trip that we took that allowed me to see many things
In a new light; It was not bad just different.

The Lord has been reminding me of my calling;
And showing me that when I do not function in that I feel flat.
Like a weak cup of tea....

After leaving on a jet plane, seeing childhood places, I realized
A few things!
Everything changes...
Except my calling!

Pour me a cup of some strong Java;
And place a hearty meal before me;

I am no wimp and I will receive a strong word from the Lord!
It is time to change a few things up around here!!

Do you feel that you are in a season of change?

Seek the Lord while He is yet to be found...
He will sit and dine with you;
He says He will show you through the Holy Spirit.
What is yet to come...
The future is not an entire mystery!
Because God knows it all!
The end from the beginning...

Strong word in the Lord and coffee is what I will be serving today!
Care to join me?

  1. Hi Roxy:) The Lord has been reminding me of my calling as well. He is so good to us, reminding us as He sees fit. May God richly bless you as you exercise the gifts He has given you! All the best, Jeannette in So Cal.

  2. Roxy, I think one of the best things about taking a little break or vacation is the different perspective we get on our lives. I always come back inspired with new ideas, or reminded of what's important. We all need to be "re-calibrated" once in a while! Blessings, Deborah

  3. I'll be reading. I have been without coffee for three days...ackkk! Wish I had thought of a good breakfast tea. That said, I'll be back to coffee in the morning. Glad that you had a good time away and I think, though you didn't say it, that it's good to be home.

  5. I would SO love to join you for a cup of coffee, and some sharing and some laughter! We have started a new chapter in our lives here in the desert. It's been almost a month already! Praying and looking at where God wants to use us, and marveling at His mighty hand in the thunderstorms and the beauty of the sky each day. Sure miss you!

  6. This is such a timely word, Roxy. I would much rather have that strong cup of coffee than that weak tea. I need the Lord to be my strong everything, so I can be weak when I need to be. (which isn't very often, wink-wink)

    Wonderful prayer time today, thank you!

    Blessings,
    Amy

  7. I like many desserts in which coffee product is used. Such products which I like are, coffee ice-cream, fruit custard, coffee fruit punch, and iced coffee shake.

    Kopi Luwak.

  12. Yes, Rox, I do feel a change of Season is coming. It has been a little bit of time from the last change of season. There is sometimes a bit of adjusting that needs to take place in our hearts; wrestling, trying to hear and see what the Lord has, what is He saying to me in this season? Sometimes it can be uncomfortable, but I do always look eagerly for what He has for me as I know you do too. Blessings to you Rox in all that is part of this new season of your life.
