Why We Must Teach The Younger Women...

Cozy Kitchen Corner. Living From Glory To Glory Blog...

Who Wants To Be Trained?...

We definitely have seen a decline in younger Women being willing to learn;
The art of Homemaking!

I believe we are seeing the fruits of training not being given or received.

The world marches to its own set of rules, And the need for income or just more!

I feel that the older women do not have the willing participants;
Because many empty nesters no longer have those that are at home or are willing to learn!

Maybe, we just keep sharing resources when we can and they just learn on their own.
And in my opinion that is fine also!

But, we must continue to teach through our own life's actions.....
It's in our willingness to encourage with words and to cheer them on!!

May we hope that we will have a movement that draws them HOME

I think most women still desire to take homemaking as a privilege;
And embrace all the joys of HOME

 I have learned and I'm still learning;
To be a wise homemaker in times of plenty and want.
In times of world upheaval and drought,
Trials and tribulations
Rain or shine, storm clouds and storms!
Sunshine and Warmth...

Some time we have tough seasons and other times smooth sailing.

Learning to live on a dime, yet being extravagant in some things in a time of plenty!
Keeping our homes, furnished and filled with resources is just wise!

Trusting the Lord in lean times!
Sharing when we have more!

If you're a young woman, keep your heart open to learn a skill or two!
If you're an older woman be willing and watchful to share a bit of wisdom!

But also a reminder to myself and to you dear readers;
We can all learn a thing or two from each other

That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands,
 To love their children,
To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home,
 Good, obedient to their own husbands,
 That the word of God be not blasphemed.
Titus 2:4, 5

We are doing well, yet have been feeling a big hit in the aerospace market!
Remember, many of us are still reeling financially from this world pandemic

As my husband said slow down and put on the brakes!

"This all happened after we bought all new windows and flooring"
Great...
Now, I just stay home and enjoy my home more than ever for the duration.

Always, Living from Glory To Glory

  1. New windows and new flooring must be so nice! I have new windows; however, I sure would get excited over new flooring. I think this training must be only if requested; otherwise, it would not be welcome. Being an example is the best way to go.

    Yes, way too many people are struggling. My prayer is that businesses will get up and going very soon.

    That is a darling kitchen vignette.

  2. Hi Roxy...I like your pretty kitchen photo.
    Yes, lots of us are feeling the losses from this pandemic. It sure makes us appreciate what we do have.

  3. I really like your photo today. It makes me think that a baking session is about to begin. It's hard to teach the younger women, at least in our church. It seems they feel they have life all figured out and some have no desire to keep a nice home. Others do have beautifully clean and well kept homes.
    Life is indeed strange right now. We have been contemplating selling our home and moving into our travel trailer until my husband retires to take advantage of the market right now. After retirement we plan to move nearer family. With this pandemic though, we wonder if that is a wise move. There is no room to store much additional food. Decisions need to be made and we're trying to put it in the Lords hands.
    Blessings,
    Betsy

  4. I deeply appreciate the sentiments you shared as they are often on my heart, too. It seems that there is so much pressure for women to do things outside of the home, even pressure from the church body. As though to have any value you must be in every sort of ministry, here, there, and everywhere - sometimes it seems the encouragement is to minister to everyone except those within your home. And even in the homeschooling circles... sometimes they spend so much time out that you could hardly call it "home" schooling. This is such an "instant gratification" society - not willing to do without or wait. It seems like they have not learned to save up so that they can invest later in nice things - like new windows and flooring (-: - and to also save a little and know how to tighten our belts and manage through hard times. We can only lovingly encourage and share examples from our own lives of how the Lord has abundantly provided when we have obediently made the choices that honor Him, our husbands, and our families. Hopefully, then they will want a piece of that joy! Enjoy your lovely home - remember that the new windows will bring wonderful savings through energy efficiency! (-:

  5. I so agree with you that we should be teaching young women, not only to be godly wives and mothers, but know how to be a good homemaker. We served 27 years in a church up North before retiring and moving to So. CA. I had about a dozen young women in my church that I mentored. The blessing they brought to me was amazing and after many years, I was called Wanda Mom, and my husband Pastor Dad. It was thrilling to see young women want to live godly lives and be good homemakers. Thanks for sharing. I love all you photos. So lovely.

  6. Beautiful post and so true.. There is a small remnant of young women, young wives and mothers out there who are embracing the beauty of home making but sadly, not many anymore. They just don't seem to care about it which is a shame.. Young people are always go go go , want the latest and greatest things and put no thought into the future. Again, it's sad and I can only be thankful I was not raised that way because I don't think my childhood would have been as nearly as wonderful as it was..

  7. I don't usually comment, but I wanted to tell you that I have just had my 30th birthday and I read as much as I can with a small child (gentle smiles). The Lord called me to be a homemaker from the beginning, even though I did go to college. There is so much wisdom and grace that I have acquired from reading your blogs, and so I wanted to encourage you that I am reading and being immensely blessed, and so is my family! My 5 year old niece who we have adopted, and my husband of almost 10 years. Your guidance is a true blessing from Heaven. Thank you so much for all the time and prayer you put in, and may God richly bless you!

  8. You share such godly wisdom and encouragement Roxy... how true it is that we must continue to teach the younger women and share encouraging words of truth with them, and counter the lies of the world with the truth of God's word. Your picture evoked such lovely thoughts of wonderful times in the kitchen. Our homes are indeed a sanctuary. With many blessings to you dear friend!

  9. This is so encouraging...and challenging. SO often there are willing older women but the younger women aren't interested. I pray that I will always desire to be teachable. To learn from older women in the Lord who encourage me in the Word of God and in homemaking.
    Praying you have a blessed day!
