Writing Letters To All My Children And Grandchildren
And my Great Grandchildren...
I started writing in journals for a few grandchildren;
Just some quotes and words of wisdom
Bible Scriptures my thoughts and such!
But, I have this profound memory of when
My Mother passed away, I just kept thinking
And watching and looking for a letter from her!
One last card in the mail and little note!
Sometimes when I go through some of my things,
I will run across some letters or cards for my Birthday!
Also those recipe cards in my stash of her handwriting.
The sweet memories and the gift of still having it!
So I guess this Fall will be me making the time to write out
A special note card or a letter to each one of them!
I am blessed with a lot of Grandchildren
and two Great-Grandchildren
Iv'e been thinking of that sweet song
Jesus Loves the Little Children of the World
Every Single One
They Are Precious In His Sight
I will continue to Write and Post on this Blog;
Untill I hear otherwise
History is just the past
Now is what we are doing
Future is doing it better
We will always offend someone,
even if we try to keep the peace!

Make Each Day A Gift

Beautiful thoughtful post. I have five grandchildren, all of them are still young. But this is a wonderful thing to do for them. Thank you for sharing.
ReplyDeleteI love this!! Written letters are important and far more valuable than a text message of any kind. I would love to have had a written note from my grandmothers. One passed away when I was only 3 and the other was not much of a writer.... I want my grandchildren to know I love/loved them.... great post.
ReplyDeleteI have a collection of treasured letters from my grandma, each adorned with her unique handwriting that fills my heart with warmth. I have a few sweet notes from my mom, filled with love for me. While I don’t have, and will never have, grandchildren of my own, I deeply appreciate the beautiful legacy of love that one can offer to their family. It’s a timeless gift that binds generations together.
ReplyDeleteI have many letters that my Granny and Granddady wrote to me when I was a little girl, and letters/cards from my momma. Yes, just seeing her handwriting brings happy memories. Thanks for the reminder!
ReplyDeleteOur daughter separated from our family years ago so we haven't seen her or our grandchildren in years. I continue to write each of them on their birthdays and at Christmas hoping they are allowed the letters and gifts. My petition for them is daily prayer.
That's such a great idea, to write letters to your grandchildren! I love that! It would have been such a treasure to have letters written from my grandparents. I do have some from one of my grandmothers. I will definitely try to do this, thank you for the inspiration! Many blessings to you!
ReplyDeleteOh, every little scrap with my momma's handwriting on it is a treasure. I kept so few. What was I thinking? That she'd always be with me? I suppose so. You're doing a great thing.
