How To Make Fabric Coasters For Your Home...

I Have enjoyed Using These Homemade Coasters...

Sometimes we just need a new idea for using up extra fabric!

How I made My Fabric Coasters

Here Is The Blog Post With The How To Video

Click For Video Link

I was thinking about how popular coasters use to be!

And the reasons we used coaster!

We used them on our coffee tables and end table so we

Did not ruin or damage our furniture!

I have also had someone put either a hot beverage and literally ruin the wood.

And if you put a cold beverage on top of a magazine it will sweat and leave a

Ring that does not go away and can ruin the cover of your magazine.

And it's not I am super picky, it's just that when I get a lovely magazine;

And it gets ruined and it no longer looks inviting to read (smiles)

This is a great sewing project to use up some of your smaller
Pieces of fabric!
Or you only have to purchase a small amount;
You can decide to make only a set of two or as many as you want!
I like them because they are not very high wear a cup or glass can tip off!

Here are some of the things I used to make mine!
I also added the video to help!

My goal was to make some for every season!
I made some to give to my family and friends.
They really make lovely gifts...
These are also a very Frugal Gift Idea You can Make!

Cut out the fabric out in the size of 6x6

Cut your batting out the size of 5x5
You can use a thin batting or slightly thicker.

Use your straight pins to secure batting to the fabric,
Pin each corner and leave an opening to turn it inside out
Once it is completely finished!
Now you will sew all around the batting!
Remember to stay straight and even;
Because this will determine the shape of the square!

Once you finish sewing all the way around;

(Keep and inch opened for turning it inside out)

You will trim off the excess on the corners so it is not bulky!

Sew straight, Leave an opening to turn, Cut off excess tips!

I usually cut out the fabric and batting to size,
And place batting in the center and pin them on.
And I leave two pins straight up and down to remind me
To not close up the opening for turning it!
Then when I have them all pinned and ready I will start sewing them!

I took a photo of a few of the different ones I have made!

I do hope this will inspire you to try your hand at making

Something for your home!

All things BEAUTIFUL...

Reading Books And Keeping A Good Home Library...

 Cleaning Out My Bookcase

This may sound silly, but I just needed to remove all the books that were
No longer easy read or easy to process for me.
I have always enjoyed a challenging book or one to truly study.
Not so much any more;
I also don't want to just read to coddle my brain;
Brainless nonsense,
But the ones that hold my interest and are able to pronounce the words.
(Smiles)

I don't want to think about things that have been truly settled in my heart.
And so many books are challenging the old ways,
I no longer desire to go to seminary (really never did)
Homeschooling seminary LOL

We all need to keep our minds active, but not overload!

I had to study before each ladies' class;
And even for children's Sunday school class.

But in this season of life,
I get to study Scripture for the pure joy of it!

So, I took my time and went through one of my bookcases,
And took all the heavy theology books out.
And I am donating them to a Pastor friend and his congregation.

I also have been looking into classic homemaking books,
Books on ways to improve my home.

I must confess I have tubs and tubs of books in my garage;
And the plan is to go through those also!
So I do have my Book Work cut out for me LOL

I do hope we all try to keep a good Home Library;
As I resource you can hold in your hand is still the best!

Google might be easy, but it feels like it's missing something.
I think cleaning out either a bookcase or a closet or drawer,
Is A Good Thing...

Recognizing An Assignment From God...

 Northern Lights, Living From Glory To Glory Blog

Recognizing An Assignment From God

As we live and grow in grace daily;

We will be presented with possible assignments from God.

Sometimes, as women we can become overwhelmed

With all the things we need to do daily.

Many tasks are repetitious, which must be done everyday.

And that may cause us to not be watching for the timing

Of the Lord wanting to use us.

I think, especially as homemakers we are not always involved

In activities outside of our homes and churches and families.

We can become immune or slightly insensitive to a need.

So we need to be extra diligent in having an open heart;

And an awareness of situations that comes to your attention!

These assignments are probably very few in a lifetime.

But for that very reason, I want to be used!

I'm not talking about normal christian benevolence;

But rather a unique situation.

I believe when I was younger, I had more opportunities!

But God is always looking for useable vessels!

And don't we even pray for God to use us?

But my hope and prayer for this season in my life;

Is to be sensitive to the opportunities the Lord may bring

into my life!

We just may be the person God will use to speak,

A Word In Season to someone who is struggling!

So many people are crying out to God for help or direction!

Just think about the times in your life;

When someone was miraculously there or available in

A difficult time in your life!

And God used someone to answer your prayer!!

If we are given an assignment will we be quick and faithful?

We must be wise in days of scams and deception;

But I believe we can have discernment in knowing,

If something is from God.

You can always ask for wise counsel and direction,

About something that you believe the Lord is giving you to do!

Let us not miss a blessing to them and ourselves;

As God honors those that are willing to be used.

Always keep a keen eye open for God Assignments!

I bet we all have a few stories and memories of

How God worked on our behalf!

So wouldn't it be a treasure to be used by him?

Give Us Eyes To See...

I am blessed and honored to have you reading,

A little portion of my heart and life...

Do The Right Thing...

 Be A Beacon Of Light...

 We must remember the Blessed Hope!

 So don't lose heart!

We must be very discerning!

Two years of a media that loves the dark side of things.

"They Want Us To Fear"

But the Word tells us many times to;

~ Fear Not ~

We Must Be Brave!

We have a Savior and it's not the Government.

Corruption is real- but we must do the right thing...

Some peoples hearts and minds will never change.

They are blinded and can't see the truth.

But, in your own Home you can have a refuge of light and peace.

Remember Christians are to expose darkness!

So if you keep your home and family in the truth;

You will be a beacon of Hope.

No Matter What Happens

~ Do The Right Thing ~

We can either keep silent or speak the truth in love and boldness,

I was so consumed with keeping my heart and home safe and

in walking in truth and being aware of lies and deception,

I decided to not write or speak aloud.

For fear of any unrest, it might cause myself or loved ones!

But, what it really did was shut down my voice.

And I realized that is what the world and enemy desires!

So here I am again...

I will write from a place of care and concern for those,

That love Christ and their families and Homes!

That desire to be a beacon of light and wants to be encouraged!

We all need encouragement...

Holding The Line...

Golden Truth, Living From Glory To Glory Blog

Holding The Line

This is an affirmation that came to me last night;

So many trials and unrest in a world that is not my Home!

We can refuse to be swayed by gullible people or lies.

If I can just keep my hand upon the spindle of what God has given me to do!

We must Hold The Line...

There are choices I can make today that will further the holding back!

With the demise of a nation, but more importantly, my Home and Family!

When a Lie is told enough times or when a lie is heard enough times;

It will become a programmed tool!

I plan on rearranging my evenings to a more sustainable worth.

We can work all day long and get much accomplished,

But by the time evening comes we can be just too tired to do something

Productive or healthy for one's mind.

Holding the line for the truth day and night!

Lies come through the media and magazines, social platforms!

Even training us to have a false, or worldly compassion for those that

Refuse the truth and hold their line to lies and perversion and wickedness.

We must remind ourselves often of this little quote;

Things are not falling apart,

But rather falling into place...

After hearing this absurd thing in the media I was convinced

By holding the line...

Mothers no longer Breast Feed, but rather chest feed!

Do not listen to this evil lying world.

The World is confused and will lead you astray!

Spend time controlling your environment of your home and family.

Remember, God will not be mocked!

So thankful for those that expose the darkness,

But, I still must be careful in how much I allow into my heart!

A little leaven can grow quickly.

I try to pray often this prayer;

Lord, Please don't let me be deceived!

I realize seasons change, but it is within a natural order ordained by God

Blessings, Roxy

I pray you are all doing well and encouraging yourself with the Word Of God!

Why We Must Pass On The Baton Of Faith...

Passing On The Baton Of Faith, Living From Glory To Glory Blog...

Encouragement

It's easy to encourage others when you feel good.

But when you feel worn out, or overwhelmed, it can become

Nearly impossible if we rely on our own strength.

So many times as I read scripture I see the encouragement

Being spoken into the early believers and the church.

By the very ones like Paul, who was suffering;

Sickness and persecution and false teachers from within.

So as I write this post I am telling myself this:

No Matter Your Own Situation;

I must stay positive, confident, hopeful and faithful!

And look for encouragement from the Lord!

I just love it when I awaken with great joy and anticipation!

But some days just seem Blah...

So that's when I propel myself into just doing something.

Remember when you understood the scripture that called it

A Spirit of Heaviness?

Well, so when you feel that thing, just stop and pray;

And begin praising the Lord, It will begin to lift quickly!

Then get yourself moving, get yourself ready for the day!

Feel good about taking care of your appearance.

Sweep the kitchen floor.

Get your dinner menu thought out.

Make an effort to encourage someone today!

It's only through the hard times we learn to be either;

TOUGH OR TENDER

The world hopes to break us and to rely upon them!

But Christ wants us to bring our cares and burdens to Him!

May you choose to be tenderhearted and compassionate.

Especially in a world riddled with fear!

We either walk in

FEAR OR FAITH

So we can either have;

TOUGH FEAR OR TENDER FAITH

Set your mind on Heavenly things;

All this will come to pass just as the Lord sees fit!

Your job is to get busy doing what you know is right!

Having a HOME and a family is a great responsibility;

Let's be good stewards of what we have been given;

And our allotted time here.

There is so much division anymore in the world;

May we not allow division in our hearts or our HOMES...

I am missing all my dear friends in blogging world.

A few sweet friends have already passed on!

May we continue to carry on and pass the baton to our

Next generation, and it's not up to us how well they do.

But it is up to us to encourage them to do their best!

Blessings, Roxy

The Power Of Refreshment...

 Refreshment is a MUST, Living From Glory To Glory Blog...

The Power of Refreshment...

Good morning friends! What a privilege to share with you today. Thank you!

It is quiet here this morning.
 The family is still asleep, and my grandfather clock’s quiet tick is my only company.

I’ve just read from the book of Isaiah; a few short verses but very delicious. In 46:1-4,
 God’s people were carrying idols that were powerless to help them.
 But their God is not powerless.
 He has in fact carried them since before their birth, and He intends to carry them forever.

Our God bears our burdens. He carries us.

Burdens steal joy and the ability to work.
 As the family of God, we share both the work and the burdens.

Have you ever been exhausted, yet unfinished with your work?
 Maybe hard physical outdoor labor.
 A short break and some refreshment can make all the difference.

Spiritual labor can create exhaustion too. The sorrows of ministry can weigh us down.
Our homes can be that place to rest; our welcoming companionship that refreshing drink.

What can we do to use this gift?

We can be humble enough to allow someone in, even when the house is not perfect!

We can be open enough to ask questions

We can flexible enough to consider them

We can be gentle enough to set boundaries and let someone know it's time to go home.
This is gentle on them and us,
Because without this boundary we will not feel kindly toward our visitors!

We can teach our children manners, even on the spot!

How has the Lord refreshed or carried you recently?

May I introduce to you this special Lady, that wrote this Blog Post?

Sometimes we just need to give someone a place to share their wisdom;
Or the encouragement they have to give!
We are all hurting and troubled in so many ways.
But this sweet post was written by a young woman I had the joy of meeting,
And even a chance to speak into her life for many years!
She has the gift of wisdom concerning womanhood and marriage.
And now she is a Mother raising her children.
She is a Joy and I do hope you will encourage her to continue her journey!

I am always so blessed to share with you what I am learning!
We must always have a willing heart to grow in His grace!
And to encourage others to endure and overcome...

The Balance Of Standing, And Keeping Our Homes A Haven...

Finding Beauty And Calmness, Living From Glory To Glory Blog...

Today...

I will resolve to look for the beauty in my own home!

Keeping my heart steady and not allowing the unrest into my heart!

When you keep yourself busy in doing the things that matter...

Sometimes we might think doing laundry or dusting is not important.

But it allows your mind to not feel cluttered.

We were made to work and keep things in order.

I believe we become stagnant at times;

But each new day and season can provide us with a new thing!

Our homes are the one place we can control a few things!

What is being watched or listened to, and even what's for dinner!

Think about what you might like to do,

that will impact the atmosphere,

In your home...

My last post was a bit on the heavy side, but we must work for

The balance of our standing for the truth, and keeping our homes a haven!

We have the tools and the gumption, we just need a push at times.

I think we all just want someone to validate us at times;

Because being at home can be so fulfilling, but also lonely.

Especially when the whole world is isolating themselves.

I don't believe in isolating myself, but being wise in so many things,

Can help us stay healthy and motivated!

These days call for thinking outside the box!

Don't be bullied, don't be passive!

Hold Down The Fort!!!

 Keepers Of The Home

Keepers Of The Truth

Keepers Of The Gospel Of Jesus Christ

Trust me, your HOME will be a beacon of light as the world grows darker...
