Stocking Up On Foods For Your Family

Preparing for what has been planned;

Can you even imagine having to be rationed?

We have lived in the land of plenty!

We were assured of grain, because of the breadbasket of our nation,

It thrived and was given seed and water and fertilizer.

But we are now seeing shortages

But, after reading and talking to many people;

The consensus is the shortages have not even begun!

So, I write this post pleading with the ladies that have been,

Reading about what is going on in the world.

Will start  preparing or continue for hardships!

The term being a Prepper has a whole new meaning for many!

I am going to start with a few basic ideas and a few tips I have learned!

I always think of the scripture

Strength and dignity are her clothing,

She laughs at the days to come!

Proverbs 31:25

"Firstly, God is our provider, He takes care of His Own"

Start with the basic's...

What are they?

Food and Water

Shelter

Let's start with what everyone can afford to do;

Beans...

Use your creative cooking skills and have the directions on how to cook them!

Write down some recipes or ideas in how to use them!

Black Eye Peas

Lentils

Northern Beans

Lima Beans

Black beans

Pinto Beans

Split Peas

Garbanzo Beans

Try to put back canned beans and dried beans!

The canned beans need to be stored in a cool dark place!

(They will last for 10-20 years)

Those expiration dates are for the government;

Always check the structure of each can before putting in your cart!

Any dents, or squishy top is compromised!

Must be in perfect condition.

Buy the Store Brand Name, usually cheaper!

Place your dry beans in the original package

 In a glass jar or a sturdy tin or tub.

Every time you go to the store, you should

Purchase a dry or can bean until you have at least a months worth!

TIP: Find a place in your home to start your Food Storage!

Clean it it out and organize what you may already have.

Do not throw out expired foods, if you were really hungry

 You would eat and be grateful!

TIP: Dispose of cans that are dented, rusty or bulging.

If you open it and smells off, dispose of it!

Remember beans are a staple and so frugal and delicious!

How many days worth of good protein and fiber do you have?

Time To Stock Up And Put Back

I heard a gentleman a few years back speaking on

Investing your monies.

 I have found myself thinking about what he said.

He explained how the market worked;

But when he said your purchasing power was best used by

Buying foods and items that would continue to rise in price.

Greetings to so many out there;

We took a trip and traveled to many places.

I came back with an awareness that I didn't have before.

Sometimes when you live in a small town, and don't get out much,

You may not see how much our America has changed!

Most the people we saw and chatted with were keenly

Aware of the changes in their lives and their cities.

When we arrived back home,

 we both felt we needed to be more

prepared...

Make a plan!!

Buy what you will cook or prepare and enjoy eating first!

Then put back food staples.

Be mindful and prayerful!!

The shifting has started and I believe rough times may be ahead!

I am not an alarmist, but a practical wise woman!

Get busy

Prices are rising weekly

Many are warning of shortages

Watch for sales at your market!

Look at bags of self-rising flour, they were very inexpensive

Compared to regular flour!

Redeeming The Time...

 The Time Is Now

Redeeming the time, Because the days are evil.

One thing I am always amazed at is how even in trials and unrest;

Our God will give us times of rest. Free from pain or lack of sleep.

Redeeming the time is something we can do every single day!

We will not always even be aware that we are redeeming the time.

It really is always on God's timetable!

I believe even those little prayers we breath out can change a situation.

We must refuse and resist the urge to give up!

I am always filled with wonder when I see someone who

overcomes and keeps planting a certain flower seed.

Believing it will sprout and give her a beautiful flower garden.

We are drawn to the scriptures and the stories of those that,

Did not give up and persevered in hard times.

Some call it pure grit;

I call it pure Grace...

I believe this country has a divine destiny USA

I believe each person that is part of Gods elect will fulfill

All that God has given him or her to do!

Fill your heart with fuel to travel far!

But there is only a gap to stop and reflect on what is important!

The future is certain, you are part of His plan!

He will use us if we are willing!

Let not your heart be troubled...

All Lies And Deceptions Will Be Exposed...

 What's Real?

We are so blessed to be able to enjoy what is real...

Don't be fooled by lies promoted by so many times to dull your senses!

The sky can have many different colors;

After a rain storm, or a storm moving in.

 And when the sun is rising in the early morning!

Or when the sun is setting in the west.

But ultimately we will all know the sky is Blue.

True nature will not change!

The blossoms on a fruit or flowering tree will smell sweet.

The true fragrance can not be denied.

Don't walk around in a cloud or a haze of indifference.

I always have loved being convinced in my own heart of what scripture says,

About everything...

If you study the real artifact or painting, you will be able to

spot the imposter or fake one. But even in that there are such

perfect imposters if it were possible you could be fooled.

But I choose to believe that all the lies and deceptions will be exposed!

Some have even tried to take a Rainbow and make it to represent

something other than a symbol of God's promise to never allow the Earth

To be destroyed by a flood ever again!

Pretty In Blue

A pretty simple blue bowl can make me happy!

I have learned to stop allowing the weirdness of this culture and world;

To make my life miserable!

We must live with purpose and impact!

There are more plots to destroy your peace than ever before!

But just ignore most the chatter and get busy living!

Is there ever a day that goes by that you were not able to do something?

It truly will be the little things that bring comfort!

Do not give up the fight to be at peace and keeping your home a refuge!

My advice to you today will be to be mindful of being frugal!

Do those little remakes and upcycle of your goods!

Spray painting my outdoor decor and painting little wooden items!

Go through your drawers and cupboards and rearrange some of your decor.

~Do not allow yourself to become weary in doing good~

Refuse to be a part of the woke weirdness,

Be strong and courageous in your homemaking and family.

Keep your haven clean and tidy.

Turn off what brings disturbance to your mind or heart!

You can learn to be content and rich with really very simple living!

Many women are still holding their post!

Just don't survive; But overcome...

Keep your heart tender and strengthen your hands!

Beware Of The Dangers Of Engaging In Gossip

How wonderful it is that the Holy Spirit will convict you of your sin!

If you love the Lord and you want to please Him, He will have to teach you 

Many things as you live and grow in Him daily!

If you have been a Christian and have read your Bible often;

You would of read many scriptures about gossip.

But many times we just skim over a certain passage because it's

Along side words like murder or adultery;

As these sins may not be anything you have done.

But tucked along side these words are the words like gossip or malice and slander.

So I am grateful to be shown the error of my ways;

Maybe it was not done with the intent to cause harm, But

It's still wrong for me to engage in this behavior.

Beware of the danger of Gossip...

We can still get caught in a trap of our thinking or words we speak.

When you think of sin, it's usually something really bad;

So we can be unaware of the sin of Gossip!

Gossip can start out just repeating something you saw or heard,

And can quickly turn into a terrible wave of lies and malice and

Just plain old strong imagination or evil intent.

Or just not being mindful of what is coming out of one's mouth...

So I am grateful that I have recognized this sin creeping into my speaking!

It started out small, (speaking my opinions, or speaking too quickly)

We must strive to not allow gossip to rule our speaking!

Getting caught up in the moment going to cause too many words spoken,

That may not be going through your filter!

The one God gave you!

 So use it and ask Him to convict you of this sin often!

Gossip can ruin a marriage, cause someone to lose their job or ministry!

Destroy a friendship, cause discord in a family.

I can remember years ago a lovely older woman reminding me that

What I had just said to her was probably gossip, because I did not know all the facts!

Second and third hand information is dangerous to repeat!

And my opinion is faulty at best!

Only Gods Word is without fault!

This is why we must repent daily of our sins!

We must be teachable!

We must be able to take correction from the Holy spirit!

~Stop and look both ways before you speak~

How I Make My Version Of Minestrone Soup...

~Stay Calm And Make Soup~

These are the days for making soup for your family;

Even if you are feeding just yourself or a whole family!

Soup is nourishing and economical to make.

Soup is easy to digest

Soup can be made with so many different ingredients!

It can be served in lovely soup bowls or

your best china bowls!

We think of soup as a meal for cold and wintry days,

But soup can be eaten in every season!

You can make a hearty soup or a very light one.

Served with a slice of bread or crackers!

In a very fine restaurant you will even find a cold soup,

Such as vichyssoise, its a delicious soup made from

pureed leeks and potatoes, cream and chicken stock!

Also Gazpacho soup, this soup is spicy,

made with raw chopped vegetables,

Such as tomatoe, onions, peppers, and cucumbers.

This is delicious...

But this Minestrone Soup is wonderful!

This little clip, is one I did a long time ago so I thought,

I would add it to this post!

Minestrone Soup

This is a wonderful hearty soup filled with good things!

You can make this soup in your crock-pot or on top of the stove.

It has simple ingredients you will mostly have them in your kitchen,

Except maybe the zucchini, so pick up those fresh, 

They will last in the fridge for about 4-5 days.

Ingredients Needed

Start with 3-4 cups water or beef broth

If using water, add some beef bullion for your broth

Italian sausage, 

About 1 pound cooked

(Brown it up nicely in a frying pan)

1/2 cup lentils

1 can garbanzo beans

1 can diced tomatoes

2 small zucchinis

On the side have some angel hair pasta pre-cooked!

You can use any type of precooked pasta

(Don't add this to your crock-pot)

After the soup is done, lentils are soft;

Add; Sliced zucchinis

Cook for another 45 min or less till zucchinis are done

(Don't let the zucchinis get mushy)

Serve; In a bowl, add a handful of your cooked pasta,

Ladle a scoop of soup onto the noodles.

Can be served with a corn muffin or a biscuit!

Topped with butter and honey...

How To Make Your Own Beauty Facial Spray...

Beauty Facial Spray 

Using a spray spritzer bottle you will add these ingredients; 

Start with some essential oils that are good for your skin 

Examples (Lavender, Geranium, Rosemary) 

Add a few drops of each of these essential oils to your spritzer bottle; (About 10 drops total or less) 

Add now 3-4 drops of an emollient oil, Examples: (Olive Oil, Almond Oil) 

Add 5 drops of Glycerin for an emulsifier 

Now fill the rest of the bottle with Witch Hazel 

Shake and spritz it lightly on your face for a refreshing and healing balm 

Can be used each Morning and Evening! 

I use mine after I apply my Foundation makeup, 

And even on a hot summer day, or on a cold day where my skin feels parched! 

Tip: Make it light on the oils, yet emollient and healing!

Tip: Close your eyes when applying!

Ingredients Needed 

 Spray Bottle 

 I Use a small bottle to assure it stays fresh 

Essential Oils 

Emollient oil 

Glycerin 

Witch Hazel

Ask a few friends to come over and gather some supplies;

You could ask them to bring some of their favorite oils!

You can purchase these spray bottles on line and order some oils;

(I prefer Young Living Essential Oils)

I also make my own perfume blends with my oils and with a carrier oil;

I may do a post on that also!
