Sunflowers Make Us Smile And Yellow Pops...

Living From Glory To Glory Blog

Sunshine Came Softly Through My Window Today...

~Sunflowers in all their glory~

There is just something about sunflowers that they just make us smile
and they really do make you feel happy.
Sunflowers are flowers that make you think of summer
and being a bright yellow in color is very cheering!

I found this picture of sunflowers  at an antique store last week.
And so now it has found a home over my mantel.
I added some very pretty yellow  flowers in my white pitcher.
I do love seeing the brightness  that it brings into my living room!
I also found one single giant size sunflower for the metal vase that sits on the floor.

I believe God wants us to make our homes lovely and cheerful.
It is so important to not be afraid of making small changes
that can give a room a whole new look.
 Let the sun shine in!

I have never really liked a home that was dreary!
All the window shades and curtains always drawn tight!
I do love my privacy and close things up in the evenings.

But a home that is dark can be very depressing.
In the very hot weather we open it all in the early morning,
Then we close it up to stop the hot sun from coming in.
But the winter months when the days are very short;
All the sunshine and light is very welcoming!

I also enjoy fresh air and I almost always have a window cracked!

I know that having a home that is open and filled with natural
light and items of decor that bring color into a room is just becoming!

What is your color that you are using that a few years back
you would not of even considered using in your home?

Remember to always keep your eyes on the SON...

  1. Your picture of sunflowers is pretty and looks good on your mantle. I have a very large oil painting of sunflowers but have lend it to my sister since it doesn't go with the blues and pinks I use. She's had it for some years now and may claim it! I love your clock and have always wanted one like it, but I don't have a mantle to put one on.

  3. Oh, I just love the picture of the Sunflowers Rox, what a wonderful find. It makes me want to paint. I love what you said about the sunshine and light, and it is so true. We do the same thing; curtains open to let in the light as long as we can, until it get too hot. When its stormy out, we open up the curtains and enjoy the light, but stormy weather. I have used Red… as you know in recent years, a color I would never have dreamed of in the past. I have always loved to add that Sunflower and yellow touch in the fall. I love all your new decor… thanks for posting it.

  4. I'm with you...I love sunflowers and daisies.
    Your mantle looks so beautiful!
    I am adding more RED!
I was always shy of red but have come to love a little pop of red here and there. And surprisingly I have using chocolate brown some, a color I never was drawn to . Your blog and some other ladies blogs have encouraged me to begin sharing some things around my home. Next post I will share my little cottage and some of it's beauty.

  5. I love the way the sunflower picture of looks in your living room. It really does pop. I haven't found a color that I have not tried over the years, that I didn't like. But I definitely love my red kitchen. And I also love my yellows and greens. I hope you have a wonderful day. Hugs, Amy

  6. Sunflowers are my favorite flower and they do bring happiness to the heart! I just love your antique sunflower picture....what a treasure to find. A few years ago I would never use aqua in my house. Now it is my new favorite color and it is all over my front porch and garden! Trying to figure out how to incorporate it into my jewel toned Victorian home!

You have a real knack for decorating.
