Trying To Find Time...

Living From Glory To Glory Blog...

Trying To Find Time...

What are some of the lovely and satisfying things that you just long to do?

I really do enjoy sewing and making aprons and cloth dish towels.
And my new fun favorite thing to do is make little tea bag fabric holders.

Any more I need smaller projects so I can get them done quicker.
It would help if the darn thread stayed threaded in my machine;
(I think the hole in the needle is shrinking)

When I do get into town and I always find myself in the fabric store!
(Might need to join Fabric Hoarders Anonymous)

I have a drawer full of fabric, but I just can't help myself at times...

Are you ladies finding it harder to get to those projects that you
really enjoy doing?

Sometimes I just have to tell myself today is the day I will sew!

I think that when we just always do the normal housework;
And we do not just do something that makes us sing deep down inside.
We can become tired and a bit stale in our imagination.

Once Spring gets here and I do believe it is peeking its head out,
We will once again have yard work to do and planting!

I think we have the change of seasons so we can have a
Long winter's rest inside so we can really enjoy the fresh outdoors,
Come spring and summer.

I do hope to finish a few things this next week!
(Well, that is if;
The Lord willing and the creek don't rise)

I think we just need to have something to look forward to.
Hope you have some plans to do something special!

Work and pray and enjoy...

  2. Beautiful and truly put, Roxy, I've my sewing machine sitting there, under its table with several pieces of material on top to remind I need to do them, let alone things that need mending.

    Maybe we need to actually put them on a list fir the week, ie scheduleit in there somewhere a certain day, certain time, but hey! not this week, next week!! ;)

  3. Hello dear Roxy...Well I have just begun sewing again. I actually bought a new machine and fabric yesterday. I am making little zip up pencil bags for the grand-angels to fill with pencils, candy etc. Then I want to make some quilted potholders. Nothing amazing, but a beginning for me. I am just trying to find things that will keep me busy at home. Like you I am looking forward to Springtime gardening and yard work...and SUNSHINE!
    Hugs to you from Shirley

  4. I haven't sewed in such a long time. Today, I cut out three little dresses for my three grand daughters (8yrs. 4yrs. and 2yrs). Matching dresses for Spring and Summer! I'm having so much fun!
    I agree, you have to be mindful and say, today I'm going to sew. Once you get going, it's hard to stop.
    Have fun sewing!

  6. I agree Roxy, that the projects line up far quicker than I can ever get to them! I love fabric and paper, and it is true that it is easier to stockpile them, then make them into something creative, lol! Have a wonderful day :)

  7. What beautiful fabric. Sigh, I wish I had time to do the things that need to be done or I want to get done. Unfort. school keeps me pretty busy. Thank you for the smiles.

  8. Yes, always love having something to look forward to! That stack of pretties made my heart sing. I spy the fabric used for my sweet apron. Love pulling it out each Spring! I have got a lot of projects started and need to get finishing them. Once spring arrives I spend very little time in the sewing room. This year I will have to because I have a grandson getting married in June. Just bought fabric to make them a quilt. Gotta get er done! lol! Happy spring thoughts to you sweet friend!
    hugs,
    Jann

  9. Sunday blessings to you Roxy! Oh what a glorious day we are having up here. The sun is out, not too much wind if any, and the temp is about 61. I pray you are having weather as nice as we are. I can relate to finding time to work on sewing. Sometime I think I just need to stop getting together with friends so I can work on my projects. In fact, in a little bit, I'll be hand quilting on our comforter. Hope you have a day and week saturated with his love.

  10. I think it's true if we only do our daily talks and don't leave room for creative pursuits we will get tired and burned out quickly. Your fabric is lovely!

  11. I declared yesterday a sewing day! I haven't sewn in ages. It's the one thing, that when I do it, I feel like I am doing what I was created to do. Isn't that interesting?

    I worked on hand quilting and on some little snowmen ornaments I hadn't finished.

    We never have gotten winter. I know so many have had more than enough of it. I must admit I'm a bit disappointed. I guess God knew we'd run out of wood or something. ~smile~ Snow is just so pretty....

    Have a wonderful week friend!

  12. When I have something to do that I REALLY enjoy, I need to get started on it first thing in the morning before getting started on anything else. Otherwise, everything else just gets in the way. I can pray and talk to the Lord as I enjoy my project. As a matter of fact, I seem to feel His presence even more doing something that I love....especially gardening. It's like spending the whole day with HIM!!
    Love to you, dear Roxy.
