Having A Faithful Friend Is Becoming A Rare Treasure...

Safety First, Friendships, Living From Glory To Glory Blog...

Three...

Remembering to enjoy the company of others.

I think having good friends is very healthy!
We were created for fellowship...

When I was much younger, I had many so called girlfriends!
But my family was always front and center;
Yet, so many drifted away.

Do you find that maybe you are staying closer to your family unit?
Having a faithful friend is becoming a rare treasure.

What has changed?
Technology tells us we are more connected!
My heart tells me this is not so...

My Husband's place of business stresses this motto
"Safety First"

We must look at this for our homes also;
Opening the door to strangers has proven to be unsafe.

So maybe as I look at with whom I may fellowship with
Is getting smaller...
~The circle of trust~

Have you ever encountered a con man or women?

Well, let's just say that this is what they do.

"A man who cheats or tricks someone by gaining their trust

  Persuading them to believe something that is not true."

 I am not a suspicious person;
But let's just say being alone is better than opening
Your heart and home to something that is not true!

Will you be diligent and watchful?
Just because they seem so nice;
Cover your loved ones with prayer
Asking for discernment in their lives!

Be The Rare Treasure Today...

As Always, Because He Lives;
I can Face Tomorrow...
All Fear Is Gone

Living From Glory To Glory
Together As He Leads

  1. I think technology may give us surface friends, but it definitely done nothing for those real heart to heart friends. I am always reminded of the verse in Proverbs..."friends come friends go." It is true, stages of life change the things we have in common. I agree it is rare to have that one that you stay friends with for a very long time. I am not sure I have one of those. My mother is 83 and she has two of the dearest friends that she has been friends with a lifetime.

  2. Unfortunately your words ring very true and this modern day. It is hard to keep up with good friendships. People think technology makes it easier, and maybe it does make it easier to have a wide range of acquaintances. But deep friendships? They take time to develop. And so many women are now working outside the home that there’s no time left over for conversation and fellowship. Very thought provoking post. Blessings, Betsy

  3. This is sadly true. I take great comfort in knowing our Lord wants us to be his best friend, and we should want to be his best friend. I've learned so many times that even though acquaintances and friends may desert or leave you, Jesus will never.

    Enjoy your day!

    Love,
    Ashley

  4. Dear Roxy, such a good post and reminder. When my youngest daughter was just 18, a son of some church friends asked to court her. He was such a con man-about 5 yrs older than she and not walking with the Lord at all, though he could sure talk the talk. We sold him a car at a very low price(thinking they would end up married), but then my daughter started finding out that he was dating other women etc. Needless to say, hubby had to chase him down monthly to get the car payment and listen to lies as to why he didn't have it at times. We love his parents, but I am so thankful to the Lord that He shut the door to that relationship-the fellow surely would have left my daughter. I still need more discernment when it comes to people I'm around. Thank you dear one for posting this.
    God's richest blessings to you and yours.
    Hugs, Noreen

  5. I think I have actually met some blogger friends who have turned out to be just as faithful if not more so than some I know face to face. I am so thankful for this! And I am so thankful for YOU, dear Roxy!

  6. What a wonderful post, dear Roxy. The older I become, the less friends I realize I have....and that is a good thing! Having people in my life that are true, honest, and love Jesus have been few. That has kept my eyes focused heaven-ward for the sincere relationship I need. I DO have friendships, born of the Spirit, that help me grow In the Lord, and keep me accountable.....Sisters In Christ....however, those are few, yet so precious to me. I agree with Debby Ray. Some blogger friends, such as yourself, have become wonderful friends to me. YOU are a blessing, Roxy!
    Love you.

  7. So very true it is to have a faithful friend...to have a secure circle of trusted souls to spend time with! I have an open arms kind of personality, and have been hurt many times by those of less than honourable intentions. The Lord has been teaching me to be more discerning and careful with whom I allow into my home and life. Some ministry needs to be done outside the walls of our homes.

    Praying you have a lovely day! You're a treasured heart!

  8. Dear Roxy, true friends are rare and precious. You are right that we need to be discerning about who we let into our lives, and that we don't need to be friends with everyone. And,(I think this is in your next post) we don't need to share everything with everyone. In this tell-all age, we need to remember it's ok to be private about some things. Hope you're doing well. I've been absent from blogging for a bit. xo Deborah

  10. I have to express my thanks to you for rescuing me from this particular dilemma.
    Right after browsing through the the net and finding views which are not productive, I believed my
    entire life was well over. Being alive without the approaches to the issues you've resolved by way of the guide is a serious case, and the
    ones that might have negatively damaged my career if I hadn't encountered
    your web blog. Your primary competence and kindness in taking care of everything
    was crucial. I am not sure what I would've done if I hadn't come
    across such a step like this. I am able to at this time relish my future.
    Thanks so much for the specialized and results-oriented help.
    I won't hesitate to recommend your web page to any individual who requires support
    on this subject matter.
