Why Are So Many Women Blogging; My Answers...

File:Still Life of Flowers by Adelheid Dietrich, 1868, oil on wood - National Gallery of Art, Washington - DSC00103.JPG
Artist:Adelheid Dietrich (1827-1891)

As I laid in bed last night and this question just rolled around
In my head for hours it seemed like.
It was a question that I really tried to answer, I
Believe being a woman I just might have some insight into this question.

This is the question;
Why are there so many women Blogging?

So here are the thoughts that came to me, and I believe that they partly
answer this question.

Our hearts are overflowing with destiny,
Our hands were made to mold and create daily,

Women have words that abound;
We have a need to release them in order to allow them to produce!
All our words spoken or written produce.
(That is why we're warned not to gossip)

A woman's heart cries out (can you see me)?
We want to leave a legacy behind.

We desire information and knowledge.
We want to give advice and teach.
It is a place to express things you have experienced.
We can share tidbits such as recipes and how to DIY projects!
Advice on how to have a healthy marriage.
Child rearing ideas and advice.

Ministry
We want to be stirred into action;
The bride cannot tolerate being unproductive!

A woman's gifts unused is much likened to the sweet fragrance sleeping
deeply within our flowers in each and every petal.

Training and Encouragement...

Hello, Who here does not need encouragement?

I just wanted to say thank you for leaving comments that
have encouraged me!

Encouragement can go a very long way...

So many women have gone to school to become skilled in a profession!
But where can we become trained and skilled at being a homemaker?

I think certain blogs can be a tool for learning some tips on being a homemaker!

But it is in the home and on the job that we really learn and glean
real life applications in this calling!

Keep growing and learning and you will
become a Godly Homemaker...

Let us work while it is yet day!

How To Organize Your Recipes...

Every Women needs a place to keep her recipes,
 quick and orderly...
To rely too heavily on the internet is not really wise.
How many times have we all experienced the internet being down or not
having the precise recipe we are looking for.
Let's think about for a moment what makes a good dish or combination
of foods really special?
The taste of course, but the memories that are associated with certain
recipes are the best part of cooking;
Especially during holidays and birthdays and family get togethers.

Here is what I did to have my favorite recipes handy and organized and protected.

Firstly, purchase a box of plastic covering sheets,
Also purchase a few vinyl notebooks.
I did make a few different categories with my plan!

Here is where you put all your Main Course recipes and Side Dishes!
All my casserole dishes go into this one. All my delicious stews and soups.
Salads and Rice recipes.

I have so many Breads and Muffin recipes!
I find it easier to just pull out the notebook that has my Breads!
The staple of life!
Have you tried my Pumpkin Bread recipe?
Really, it is the BEST ever...
It makes three loaves at a time, one to eat, and one to freeze, and one to give away!
Click Here

Now, in this little Large notebook is my Sweets!
I once heard a friend say that her first tooth she cut was a sweet tooth...
I do think that is a true statement
(As I read it on the Internet also)
(And I also heard they can't print anything that is not true)

Now, this is filled with so many special and dear to my heart recipes of
Cookies and cakes and cream puffs!

Your collection of recipe  should be very special and pretty looking.
 As they really are heirlooms for your family and children to pass on!
Taking care of them and preserving them is a wise thing to do!

You will need a bit of pretty paper and some craft scissors,
Sticky adhesive photo splits.

What I did was put out a large card table, and started going through my box of recipes.
Then I started arranging them, I put them in stacks of the categories I chose,
from the above notebooks.You can have as many as you want.
Or make it as easy and simple as you would like!

I used my printer and recopied some of them, others I just slid them
into a plastic sheet protector.
It was so much fun to read over so many recipes.
Memories...
Now, this is where I made the decision on what recipes to keep and those to toss.
I asked myself if it was not family history or an heirloom to me, if I
had not ever made this or had no future plans on doing so out it went.

This was a couple of weeks in the making, as I did take my time
and enjoyed the process.
So I encourage you ladies to think about making up your own,
Family and your Mothers or Grandmothers special recipe notebooks.
This project might be something to do this summer
  when it is too hot to go outside.
In my case I did do it this last winter when it was too cold to go outside!

How To Make Scalloped Potatoes and Ham...

So Easy To Make...
Living From Glory To Glory Blog

I just wanted to say good morning, as I live out West
 and most of you ladies have been up for hours.
And for those on the other side of the
World you are just going to bed... So good night!

I made a delicious casserole for dinner last night, and this
is one of my favorite comfort foods.
It is made with your left over Ham from Easter or another holiday meal
Remember not to waste it!
Either cut it up and freeze for later or make this dish tonight!
Being Frugal with our resources and meal planning is just plain wise!

Our Men love any meals prepared with meat,
(Unless of course you are a vegetarian, skip this post)

Scallop Potatoes with Ham

This is so good and easy peasy too!
This is what I do;

Wash and peel six potatoes, slice thinly and place in cold water with some salt.
Let them sit for about 10 minutes (gets the starch out)
Slice a good amount of your Ham (as much as you like)
Use 1 can of Cream  mushroom soup
3/4 can milk
1/2 cup grated cheese
Salt and pepper
Shake of garlic salt

Now drain your sliced potatoes and place in a large bowl
Add your can of soup and milk
Add your diced or sliced Ham chunks
Mix in cheese and salt and pepper and garlic.
Spray a 9x13 pan
Pour into the pan and cover with foil
Bake in preheated 350 degree oven
Bake covered for 45minutes,
 Uncover and bake another 10 minutes to brown it!

You can add onions if you like and more cheese;
Sometimes I have added crushed chips on top.
This is not a precise recipe, there is a lot of room to experiment.

Remember the four day rule!
After Four days throw it out!

Some mornings it seems like the Birds singing just sounds sweeter!

Shifting Gears...

Shifting Gears...
After a very long winter we now need to change many things;
Once again we need to shift gears.
 We cannot stay at the same speed when Spring time
rolls in and old man winter has been told to go,
 Where does he go?
The other side of the earth...

It gets warm earlier in the day and it stays lighter longer;
Why, so we can get our work done!

Old debris must be cleaned away, trees and bushes must be trimmed.
Soil must be tuned over, seeds bought for planting.

I have tried to make a habit of in early spring to start raking outside,
Each day to build my stamina up for the long busy season ahead!

Shake off the winter blahs and know these trials you may be
 going through will only make you stronger.
If we go through it with the least amount of complaining and murmuring,
The chance of having to do it again is less likely...

Feeling down
Feeling tired
Feeling the pain...

Feelings are very powerful, and I do not disregard them,
but when they start to rule your whole home and marriage and finances.
Girl, they are out of control and you now have submitted to them.
They become your master and YOU the slave!

When you pass through the waters, I will be with you:
And through the rivers,
they will not overflow you.

When you walk through the fire,
you shall not be burned,
Nor shall the flame scorch you.
Isaiah 43:2

Shift gears Dear ones, get out into the open!
Full speed ahead!
Change your perspective;
It is not about doing MORE
It is about doing something different!

The weight of this world is heavy we are not to bear its burden!
I am not the keeper of the EARTH...
But I am called to be the keeper of my HOME

Rejoice and be glad, shake off what has tried to rob You of your JOY
Smile, it will illuminate into the whole EARTH!!
You are the LIGHT of the world
There is a treasure in you (This Earthen Vessel)
And the more cracks, the more the light is brought forth...

He is Alive and He has asked us to occupy till He returns,
May we not grow weary while doing good!

Encourage someone today!
All the decorating and pretty things will never be able to mask
a broken heart, or a broken dream.
Shake off the dust and start moving into His direction;
One step at a time...
You got to move it move it...

Preciousness Of Life...

File:Baby lamb.jpg

Wee Little Lamb...
There is just something about little animals, and babies!
It is the newness and preciousness of life.
In the Springtime it is so sweet to see the new baby calves and the
wee little lambs.
We ordered a new batch of baby chicks last week and they said
they have never been this busy!
So due to the large quantity of orders, we will be waiting for a bit longer,
For our chicks to arrive. I have always told my Hubby until we have
everything in place for their arrival, we don't order them.
So now it looks like we are ready well in advance.

How ready are you for having to wait upon someone else timing?
How much training have you had on waiting for God's timing?
Having an ear to hear must be important;
Because He says in His word many times
(May you have ears to hear)

I heard the Lord speak to me a week ago and He said the
Trials are coming...
I did not know if He just meant for my family or many others.
We experienced the trials and felt their pain this last week.

I am going to share a true real life story with you.
As I was driving my sweet Daughter in law to a Dentist appointment,
a few days ago. She was very ill and still is, as she had a root canal go
very bad. She is still waiting for some relief from the pain and infection.
So she is in the car highly medicated and very sick.
She is sleeping as I am driving.
We are on a major street and I get this sick feeling in my stomach and
I just know we are about to drive into a shoot out!
( I am not making this up!)
I make the very next right and drive very fast!!
Then we hear it ...
POP POP
Sirens
Chaos
Cars screeching their tires!
My daughter sits up and she is wide awake,
And I calmly tell her;
We just avoided a shoot out!
I never watched the news that night,
I didn't need to!
I knew what I knew...
Well the rest of the family did watch for it on the news; and it did happen
Just as I knew it did!
God does protect us!
He does direct our steps.
He cares about life, and he wants us to always value the gift of life!

We have aborted way too many lives in this world...
God does not want us to abort our dreams...
He has a destiny and plans for each of us...
He will take total chaos and create life,
He spoke into the darkness;
And there was light!

Our you experiencing trials?

Springtime and Life...

Days and nights
Nights and days...

What do I have to say?
The word tells us there is nothing new under the sun.

I long for the sweet and simple...
I think that is why I am always drawn to pictures from artist that
are from days that seem gentle and kind.

We must always keep our hearts in tune with the heartbeat of our King!
We all can sense the change that is happening before our very eyes.

I choose to keep my heart and eyes focused on the calling on my life.

We can feel so insignificant and that who we are,
Or, what we are doing makes little or no difference.

But I know holding steady in your walk
 With the Lord is a more powerful statement,
Then we may ever fully realize.

When you stay married when it was tough,
You're really a living example of Christ and His Church.

When you love others as Christ loved His Church,
It is the example that will change a heart.

We are here now;
For such as a time as this...

When the trials come at you in this world,
Stop and remember;
The trial of Jesus...
His death and burial and His
Resurrection...

The same power that raised Christ from the dead lives within us!
We are stronger than we realize for it is His power that dwells within us.

He is alive forevermore interceding on our behalf!

How To Prepare Potato Salad With Dill...

Yummy Potato salad, Living From Glory to Glory Blog

Potato Salad With Dill...

I have always enjoyed having a bowl of potato Salad made up
 For when we have our family get-together's
 And,of course, picnics and special celebrations.

I like to have a few things I can make the day before. To make the
Kitchen preparation a little easier.
Potato salad is one of those dishes that fit that requirement.
I even think it taste better after it has a chance to marry their flavors and to allow
 it to get very chilled and settled.

I have been told that my version is very yummy and unique.
I attribute it to the dill weed I put in mine.
You can use fresh or dried!

Firstly, start with boiling your potato's
Add hard boiling your eggs.

After they are cooled enough to handle you may start;

Peel most of the potato's, leave maybe one with the skin on,
As this makes it look very Home style looking.

Peel your eggs also;
Cube your potato's to a bite size portions;
Dice up your eggs
Wash and slice up three green scallions.

Now to make your mayonnaise based cream sauce
Recipe below

Firstly, shake a small amount of olive oil onto your diced potatoes.
Now add your diced eggs.
Add sliced scallions

Sauce
In a small bowl, mix together these ingredients
1 cup mayonnaise
1/2 cup milk
2 tsp. Yellow mustard
Garlic salt to your preference of taste,
Salt and pepper
2 tsp of dill weed, fresh or dried!
Whisk together and then pour over your potatoes and eggs.
Lightly fold this into the potato and eggs to coat it!

Put it into a pretty glass bowl and sprinkle the top with dill weed
And of course a little paprika for  color.
Cover and refrigerate quickly.
Just before serving, you can slice a hard boiled egg thinly and lay across the top!

(Potato salad is only good for 3 days)

How to Prepare Fresh Asparagus Spears Roasted...

Fresh Roasted Aspargus...
Living From Glory To Glory Blog

Garlic-Roasted Asparagus

Asparagus recipes don't get any easier than this.
 Simply toss asparagus spears with sliced garlic, olive oil, salt, and pepper,
 and roast until tender.

Directions
Preheat oven to 450 degrees F. Snap off and discard woody bases from asparagus.
 Place asparagus and garlic in a 15x10x1-inch baking pan.
 Drizzle with oil and sprinkle with salt and pepper. Toss to coat.
Add sliced fresh garlic for amazing flavor
Roast for 10 to 15 minutes or until asparagus is crisp-tender, stirring once halfway through roasting.
 Serve immediately!
 You can also sprinkle a little bit of cheese  like a Parmesan!

Makes: 6 servings
Prep: 15 mins
Roast: 10 mins 450°F

This is the very best way to cook your asparagus in my opinion,
 I find the garlic makes it just heavenly!

I remember as a child going out hunting for the fresh asparagus in our fields.
They were fresh and tender and we ate them with great gusto.
Melted butter on slightly cooked tender spears.
When the asparagus was ready to pick, Spring had truly come.

I have bought my 2lbs of fresh spears to prepare for this Sunday's feast...
Enjoy the bounty of each season.

Beauty Marks Or Age Spots...

Looking down and seeing my hands has been an indicator of lately.
What exactly is it an indicator of?

I have used these hands for many things!
I think as a woman of God, my hands are symbolic of my heart!
What has been in my heart has been many times worked out with my hands.

I had my hand held by my Hubby many moons ago!
We exchanged these vows;

Groom: I,____, take thee,_____, to my wedded Wife, to have and to hold from this day forward, for better for worse, for richer for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, till death us do part, according to God's holy ordinance; and thereto I plight thee my troth.

Bride: I,_____, take thee,_____, to my wedded Husband, to have and to hold from this day forward, for better for worse, for richer for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love, cherish, and to obey, till death us do part, according to God's holy ordinance; and thereto I give thee my troth.

I think my hands have trembled a time or two, I have held the
hands of my children and grandchildren!
I have laid these hands over a fevered brow.

I have used my hands and folded them to pray!
My hands have held the hands of a dying Mother and Father.

My hands have been idle by my side a time or two!

My hands have sewn  a bridle veil,
 An a baby blanket bundling a newborn in.

I have used these hands to fold clothes of so many loads of laundry.
I have kneaded and made batches of fresh bread.
These hands have mixed a batch of cookies to eat and savor.
These hands have washed more dishes than I could count!

My hands are His instruments to love and to build and create!
My hands are worn to a soft and tender touch.

I have looked down and said my hands look just like my Mothers!

I have made this statement
 these hands now have beauty marks upon them;
The world calls them age spots, I choose to call them
Beauty spots...

When we long for life without difficulties, remind us that oaks grow strong in contrary winds and diamonds are made under pressure.

Listening For His Song...

I had a dream a while back, and it was very special to me.
The Lord was speaking to me, and He said to me,
You need to clean out your ears!
I felt like He was giving me a very important instruction...
I awoke with the desire to obey Him.

I have been praying daily for my ears to be cleaned out;
Now, I need to ask myself, what is possibly blocking my hearing?

Learning to hear the Lord speak it very scriptual and powerful!
That is why we must reading written word!

But, what I have been pondering and asking for wisdom is this;
What might be something that I am listening to or tuning into that
might cause a blockage.
 Our ears have a natural God given wonder,
To hear the words of our loved ones. The first cry of our newborn child.

We use our ears to keep us safe from danger,
 When someone calls\out a warning!
We must have ears to hear!
( In the spirit and our natural hearing)

I am eagerly awaiting the song of our prairie meadowlarks.
I was gone to a friend's cottage in the foothills of our mountains.
I could hear the meadowlarks singing there.

Come sweet birdie and sing to me!
It refreshes my soul and makes my heart glad!

The Lord has said there will always be
Seed time and harvest!
And as I can count on that till He returns for His Church!

Stay close;
Clean out your ears:
Keep your heart tender!

Listen for HIS song...

Take pleasure in His sweet blessings He gives us!
Take nothing for granted!

Hand Picked For Life...

My Man

Thought you all would like to see
My Man!

A man of honor and integrity
 He blesses me everyday with his love;

He helps me with so many things!
He has loved me by considering the fact that I am the weaker vessel,
He has the physical strength, and he does all the heavy things!
Like helping move my furniture around :o)
He pulls out the refrigerator to clean behind it!
He knows I want to do these things and have them done,
So he will stop what he is doing and help me!

 He prays for me!
And he prays for his whole family daily!!
He is praying for our grandchildren to help keep them under His covering!

I have referred to him as a quiet man...
He has the gifting as a servant and he is a leader.
He has the qualities of a pillar.
Strong and steady!

I am honored to be the wife of his youth, then God put us together.
I still pray to be the wife that he needs!

We laugh a lot and have learned to not take all things personal.
We realize most the time we are either just tired or hungry!

I have learned He can't read my mind...

I have learned to explain to him what I am feeling, and allow
Him the time to ponder it. He is a problem solver!
State the problem, and he always gives me positive feedback.
He sees the bigger picture.
He has discernment and I need to wait to hear what he has to say!
He has way less words to say than I do!
(REALLY YOU SAY I NEVER WOULD OF GUESSED)

We have memories!
We have comfort and familiarity!
We have a future and a hope!
We have trust!
We have each other!

Love conquers all!
 Love never fails
Love bears all things
 Love believes all things and endures all things
And hopes all things.

The Beauty Of Deep Cleaning...

File:Bella Rosa (Kordes 1981).JPG
Bella Rose

My eyes long for a focal point of something lovely to gaze upon
 in every place of my home.
A picture they say speaks a thousand words.

Whether I am adorning my walls or mantels or a dresser top, it feels good
To make each of them pretty, yet useful.
I do not like things to look cluttered or cluncky (My own word)

I am sure many of you lovely ladies have been Spring cleaning;
It is really good for one's self and her family to deep clean.
We all have a wee bit of a pack rat within us.

I had a wise woman tell me years ago, that if  I would make the time
To clean out my silverware drawer or tidy a counter top daily, things would
Stay manageable in my home. I think this has worked very well!

But deep Spring cleaning is where you tackle those closets and drawers
 and those
Places you close the door too!

I like to take one room at a time and ask other family members to help.
This is a time of training...
We have a whole generation of young women who have never learned,
The art of home cleaning!

Spring cleaning is where you move everything to vacuum under it!!
You wash the window's in that room and the window coverings,
(Blinds, curtains, and sheers.)

It is also a good time to rearrange your pictures on the walls,
 And the knickknacks on your end tables and such.
Our interior homes will reflect, the time we invest in making them,
Cozy, clean, and functional.

I have about sprayed painted every picture frame and basket in my,
home many times over the years.
I have made new curtains, and changed out bedspreads.
These are cost effective and a chance to redecorate
 with what you already have.
I keep a large tub that I use for knickknacks that I am able to change them out,
And they make a room look newly decorated, with things you loved in the past.
We are always buying new things, and we are quickly tired of them;
So, I have learned the fine art of rotating my treasure.
You can change them out according to the season's
(Spring, Summer and Fall and Winter)

I like to do this with drapes and my dishes!
My bedspreads and even rugs.
Your HOME is your sphere of influence.

I want to just mention how all you amazing ladies' posts so many,
wonderful recipes and decorating ideas.
You all inspire me!!
I really enjoy visiting your pretty blogs, And I love seeing how
Your love for your families show in what you do and prepare for them.

I am blessed to see your devotion to your Hubby's and HOMES!
But your love for the Lord, gives me the greatest Joy...
