My Kitchen Maid...

Living From Glory To Glory Blog

Hello Ladies meet the new girl on the block..
She is my new maid!!
She is my KitchenAid...

The days we live in just amaze me!

Now I can do two things at once,
While I am mixing up my batters for the cakes and cookies.
I can get the other ingredients ready and not have to watch the bowl and hold the mixer!
I can let this sweet little thing do all the hard work for me!
(And if you make carrot cake like I do, it is a heavy batter)

I was so surprised when my sweet Hubby came home with this new wonderful mixer!
I have never had one before, so I guess you just figure,
Heck, I have stirred it myself for years, do I really need one?
Maybe not need it, but it is wonderful now that I have one!

I also have gotten all my flours  put into large glass jars.
It has inspired me to bake and to use all the wonderful, healthy things I have!

I have always felt that to do a job it is easier to have the right tools.
Or equipment
 RIGHT?

So I just wanted to share my new maid with you!
She is lovely and well built..
May she serve me well and may I be inspired to make some wonderful,
And healthy breads and cookies for my sweet Hubby!

I think there is just something about having all these glass jars out and on the counter,
It is pleasing and encourages me, and inspires me!

Thank you Lord for my new maid :o)

Treasures In A Cracked Tea Pot

Making all things beautiful,
in His time.

Here is my beautiful tea pot, but it is cracked!
My hubby bought this for me awhile back,
And at my very first tea time, it cracked from the top to the bottom.

What is a girl to do?
I was so very sad to think of this special treasure to be of no use.
So, I really gave this much thought;
I added flowers to it, then a plant.
It just did not look right!

I was reminded of the scripture that speaks of us as being,
A treasure in an earthen vessel.

So, I thought what treasure do I have I could put into this
cracked tea pot ?

Pearls
Not fake pearls, but real ones!
(My Momma's Pearls)

I am so thankful that just because,
I have a few cracks, that God still finds useful
things for me to be used for!
For He calls me one of His treasurs!

Here is the complete set;
Tea Pot
Sugar Bowl
Cream Pitcher

Blessings,

The Big Or The Best...

Welcome Aboard
The luxuries of the very wealthy!!
You can own this floating mansion for only
$5.7 million dollars.
The cost was just reduced!
Talking about getting a bargain...
A Vacation Home!
Belonging to someone...
A pretty mint green in color with a boat to match.
Now, this is living!!
Well, at least for some!
OK!!!
Back to my real world...
We had such fun on our children's sailboat on our last visit to Florida
 A fewYears back.
I guess seeing the pictures and experiencing just
Where and how the real wealthy lived.
Made a big impact.
The real interesting part of all this is, I love my life!
I am so happy with the portion God has given me.
We are so rich in His love!!
We are blessed with every spiritual blessing.
"Big is not always better."
"If you take the left, then I will go to the right; \
Or,
If you go to the right, then I will go to the left'
(Genesis 13:9).
Many of us do not continue to grow spiritually
Because we prefer to choose on the basis of our rights or wants!
Instead of relying on God to make the choice for us.
Yes, I have rights that are given to me. But sometimes I can
use this wrongly to my harm.
We must allow the Lord to help us choose the best, not just
The biggest or the grandest.
Here is my home sweet home!!

Blessings,

This Chair Is Just Right

This Chair is too small for both myself and my hubby!

This is  a close up shot of it,
the design and pattern of it was very tight and small.
Also the chair itself was tiny.

Here is the replacement!
It is much larger and of course it is covered
with leather. It is very large and roomy
and comfortable.

Here is the throw pillow that came with the couch,
I felt it was hard as a rock,
and much too large for this couch.

Can you see the new pillow, it is smaller and a very
vintage pattern. We did put three of them on the couch.

Here is my new cozy chair,
And it's just right!

I am so thankful for the amazing La-Z-boy company.
They were generous and took the first two chairs back.
Mind you these were special orders, and they did allow
us to return them.

I will tell you that once we returned the first chairs,
we had to choose some new ones.

Now, this is where I stepped back and let my hubby
take over. He had to sit in each chair to make sure it
was large enough for him to comfortably sit in it.
We are convinced the furniture out there is shrinking!

I am so blessed as we have always taken great care of our\furniture.
So we were able to bless others with a slightly used
and comfy older stuff.

I love being a homemaker!

This has been a season for painting and makeovers.

Blessings,

Our Living Room

Here are a few photos of our living room.

We have had this burgundy leather couch for years.
I never really enjoyed sitting on it,
as it feels kinda stiff to me.
So we have bought a new one,
which will be covered in a fabric material this time.

We also purchased two new recliners, from La-Z-Boy.
Of course mine will be a Lazy Girl!

I am waiting for the delivery of our new furniture.
Then I will get busy with Spring cleaning in this room.
Blessings,

Intimate Relationship...

Intimacy and Romance
We were created for relationships.
We were made in His image.
"Female"
We were the very last thing God created.
He had created every amazing thing on this planet earth,
And yet something was missing!
The man made after God's image had everything...
Yet, he was alone.
The man had seen and named every exquisite animal,
and had experienced a new dawn of sunrise
and sunset.
Yet, it was God who saw his loneliness.
He Said;
For it is not good for man to be alone!
So God took the very rib of His image, and
fashioned the most feminine and lovely
creature upon the earth.
"Woman"
She was the grand final'e !
She was the one who would help Adam (Her Man)
She brought the heart of Her Creator.
Which is:
INTIMATE RELATIONSHIP
Just as a woman longs to be desired, and to be intimate
so does God!
Dear women of Christ take your rightful place.
Be to your husbands what God created you to be.
"sustainer beside him"
We were created to do this together!
Romance, beauty; relationships, adventure.
Prairies, and meadows and flowers.
Stars and music,
a kiss.
'I have loved you with an everlasting love'
Jer. 31:3
We were made for relationship!
Blessings, Roxy

My Mother

My Mother was a very strong woman, her life was not easy. She had five children, and she kept a clean home and there was always a wonderful supper prepared. Her name was Mary Ellen.
She did come to know the Lord later in life, but I think even when she was a young women she knew of God. I want to take this moment to say to the world I loved my Mother and I miss her so much. I know I will see her again when the Lord calls me home.

We as women need to encourage and help one another, we are all sisters and Mothers and aunties, and daughters, wives and Grandmothers.

May we as daughters of Zion take care and nourish and encourage one another to keep our homes and lives and families whole and strong and safe. Home is where the heart is.

What An Apron Speaks To Me...

Living From Glory To Glory Blog

What a wonderful day, It looks like fall, but feels like summer. I went out and picked some fresh tomatoes and picked a wee little pumpkin for my youngest grandson. It was just his size. The smell of fresh tomatoes just makes my mouth water. And the color of pumpkins makes me feel like fall is here.

I wanted to make a comment on what an apron does for me and speaks to me.
This may bore some of you off your rockers, but it was tugging at my heart strings.
An apron makes me feel like I am dressed to prepare a meal for those I love.
To do a job that is much needed and required!
I want to fulfill my calling as a women, wife, and mother
And for some reason it makes me feel like it is a small thing.
But it gives myself and my family a happy feeling,
Knowing that when they see Mom or Grandma with her apron on, something must be cooking!

I love to wear my aprons, and I have many ones to choose from. I like to sew them in many
different colors and patterns. I believe it has been a ministry to make them and give them away, to encourage women to be keepers of their homes!

Now, my aprons are not all balled up in a pile, but rather I love to wash and iron them. I keep them
in a drawer in my kitchen.  And I have them ready to pick a new one every couple of days.
I have a sweet little hanger hook shaped like a tea pot that I hang my apron on that I am using,
on any given day. I can actually feel a difference about being in the kitchen as soon
as I put my apron on.

If you have never worn an apron I encourage you to try wearing one, you just may realize
that this is what you have been missing!

May your kitchen smell heavenly!
May you feel lovely and domestic!

Keeper Of The Home...

Even Our Pets Like It When We Are Home,
~Today is a rainy day and it feels so cozy to be home! Our homes are more than just a house on a street in any city or state, or any place in the world. But rather where there is the opportunity to keep our families, loved and fed and given wise instruction. We all need a place to feel safe and appreciated.

I feel very strongly that there has been an assignment against us women, from the enemy to make our calling as "keepers of the home" a burden and telling us this really won't satisfy you. Yes, I know this is a very old tactic, but once again he is up to his old tricks.

So my prayer for all women, young and old is this, Do Not listen to the enemy. Instead, take this as a time to count your blessings and take joy in being a"keeper of the home". Make some cookies, change the living room around, do anything that screams I LOVE being home and I take My calling very seriously. For I am a world changer one day at a time for the ones God has given me the privilege to serve!

My cat is one of those cats that just lay around, but really she is glad when there is someone who is at home, even our animals don't want to be alone. ~

Hello Hello...

He Sings Over Us!
Hello, Hello!!

Jesus is calling:
Sometimes my phone rings off the hook and other times,
I pick it up and check to see if it's broken (smile).
Oh, but Jesus always calls. He calls my name.
He is the breath of life. (He is the head wind).
May His Singing refresh you today
~ As He calls out each of our names~

He Sings Over Each Of Us!

Dwellings And Our Boundaries...

May Your Home Always
Reflect His Heart!

He has determined our pre-appointed times
And your boundaries of your dwellings. Acts 17:26

I take great comfort in this word, as they're our times I think
Where is the sunshine and the ocean view?
He has put each of us in the place He has prepared for us.
Sometimes it may just be for a short time or a lifetime.

The most important factor in wherever you are is to make each place a pleasant home!
Be content and take pleasure in all that He has provided.
We do not want to miss the opportunities in each phase of our lives.
Even this pretty covering  of shade brings quiet and a hush in a busy world.
 May God Bless Your Home!
Blessings,

This picture is my bad side!

Come on I know this like your second picture with your new digital camera,
but really I didn't even get to pose.
My first photo on a Blog and You didn't even say (cheese)
Max is adjusting to his new home, as we are also adjusting to a little dog who stays
really close by.

Dear little Max is no longer living, he belonged to my parents.
First my Mother passed away, then my Father.
So I inherited this little guy.

It was so sad because he became very sick and he died also!
I wonder if it was because he missed his master too much?

I looked at this post and almost deleted it and I decided heck this post,
is history now!

Blogging has been a very interesting journey for me!
If you're reading this post, it is one from the archives!

Blessings,
Roxy

Cat and Max...

Here is the one who sleeps all day and plays all night!
Cats are really nocturnal...

Her name is Jasmine
And my sweet Hubby got her for me on Valentines Day.

She is about 5 years old, and loves to eat and sleep.
Now can you see that little dog down on the floor?
His name is Max.
Now that little guy is a dog that belonged to my Mother and Father.
My mother passed away about 6 years ago, she went to be with the Lord
now Max became my Dad's dog.

Now, this is what happened:
My Dad arrived on Sunday night and we had only 3 days together and he passed away.
I truly believed he knew he was dying,
and he made the long travel by car so he could get his little guy safely to the family.
 Now Max belongs to me.
Now Jasmine is still wondering will this little doggie ever go home?
I got news for you (cat)
I am Home!

Max did pass away shortly after my Father died;
And now Jasmine is 10 years old.

One thing I can say about having a house cat is this;
We do not ever have mice in the house;
As she takes her job very seriously!

Blessings, Roxy

My New And Improved Living Room...

Living from Glory to Glory Blog Voila
After almost two weeks of painting and new wood floors, voila our new living room!
It was really worth all the work.
Our son did all the wood floors and most everything else.
My Hubby and I helped with the painting and painting and painting.
All good things take time and energy.
Which reminds me, I finally feel rested and can fully enjoy it!
I love new and improved most the time,
Yet other times I want to say hey, what's wrong with the way things use to be?
Sometimes the things that our most familiar to us, help us to feel safe and a sense of home.
But I can truly say that the feeling I get when I see the results is (change can be good).
The Lord spoke a word to me in the beginning of this new year and it was "extravagant".
He truly wants to bless and prosper His children. He wants to give you the desires of your heart.
I had been praying for almost a year about doing a wood floor and updating the colors.
He is a good God and He wants to give you good gifts.
"Home is where Your heart is"
After all, the word tells us to Be Home Makers or keepers of the home.
So making them cozy and comfy and beautiful is biblical.

My Kitchen...

It all starts here every morning,
My daily life in my sweet and cozy kitchen.
Put on the tea pot
And while it gets steaming hot, I pick out the mug that best suits my mood this morning.
Tall and thin, fat and solid, or maybe flowers.
My favorites, one with my grandkids pictures on it, or one with scripture.
And all the one's given as gifts from friends and also a few bought for oneself
that just seemed like it would hold a pleasant cup of tea.

My kitchen is painted in a lovely yellow color
With hand made curtains of light green suede with a pretty lace valance.
A kitchen table placed in the corner with two large windows to see all the countryside.
Think of how many prayers have been prayed at this table?
 Heads bowed, hands folded.
Our kitchens truly are a prayer closet of sorts.
Maybe even a sanctuary where as we go about cooking and preparing foods,
Thanking our heavenly Father for His provisions.
Or praying for our loved ones needs or concerns they may have.
We must keep this place, the heart of our homes, clean of frustration, anger and bitterness.
We are called to be the keepers of our homes.
Prepare your heart first thing everyday that through that time with Jesus.
He will give you the desire to keep the home fires burning.
Your loved ones need food and nourishment and encouragement.
Without these things we shall all grow weak and frail.
This is not a chore put rather a gift and assignment that the Lord has given us as His daughters and wives and mothers.
Pray for strength and direction, be creative, make a sweet and comfortable kitchen,
 that all may come in.
Do not forget to entertain strangers,
For by doing so, some have unwittingly entertained angels. Hebrews13:2
