How I Make My Version Of Minestrone Soup...

~Stay Calm And Make Soup~

These are the days for making soup for your family;

Even if you are feeding just yourself or a whole family!

Soup is nourishing and economical to make.

Soup is easy to digest

Soup can be made with so many different ingredients!

It can be served in lovely soup bowls or

your best china bowls!

We think of soup as a meal for cold and wintry days,

But soup can be eaten in every season!

You can make a hearty soup or a very light one.

Served with a slice of bread or crackers!

In a very fine restaurant you will even find a cold soup,

Such as vichyssoise, its a delicious soup made from

pureed leeks and potatoes, cream and chicken stock!

Also Gazpacho soup, this soup is spicy,

made with raw chopped vegetables,

Such as tomatoe, onions, peppers, and cucumbers.

This is delicious...

But this Minestrone Soup is wonderful!

This little clip, is one I did a long time ago so I thought,

I would add it to this post!

Minestrone Soup

This is a wonderful hearty soup filled with good things!

You can make this soup in your crock-pot or on top of the stove.

It has simple ingredients you will mostly have them in your kitchen,

Except maybe the zucchini, so pick up those fresh, 

They will last in the fridge for about 4-5 days.

Ingredients Needed

Start with 3-4 cups water or beef broth

If using water, add some beef bullion for your broth

Italian sausage, 

About 1 pound cooked

(Brown it up nicely in a frying pan)

1/2 cup lentils

1 can garbanzo beans

1 can diced tomatoes

2 small zucchinis

On the side have some angel hair pasta pre-cooked!

You can use any type of precooked pasta

(Don't add this to your crock-pot)

After the soup is done, lentils are soft;

Add; Sliced zucchinis

Cook for another 45 min or less till zucchinis are done

(Don't let the zucchinis get mushy)

Serve; In a bowl, add a handful of your cooked pasta,

Ladle a scoop of soup onto the noodles.

Can be served with a corn muffin or a biscuit!

Topped with butter and honey...

How To Make Your Own Beauty Facial Spray...

Beauty Facial Spray 

Using a spray spritzer bottle you will add these ingredients; 

Start with some essential oils that are good for your skin 

Examples (Lavender, Geranium, Rosemary) 

Add a few drops of each of these essential oils to your spritzer bottle; (About 10 drops total or less) 

Add now 3-4 drops of an emollient oil, Examples: (Olive Oil, Almond Oil) 

Add 5 drops of Glycerin for an emulsifier 

Now fill the rest of the bottle with Witch Hazel 

Shake and spritz it lightly on your face for a refreshing and healing balm 

Can be used each Morning and Evening! 

I use mine after I apply my Foundation makeup, 

And even on a hot summer day, or on a cold day where my skin feels parched! 

Tip: Make it light on the oils, yet emollient and healing!

Tip: Close your eyes when applying!

Ingredients Needed 

 Spray Bottle 

 I Use a small bottle to assure it stays fresh 

Essential Oils 

Emollient oil 

Glycerin 

Witch Hazel 

I hope you will try making your own Beauty Facial Spray

 You could even have a party;

Ask a few friends to come over and gather some supplies;

You could ask them to bring some of their favorite oils!

You can purchase these spray bottles on line and order some oils;

(I prefer Young Living Essential Oils)

I also make my own perfume blends with my oils and with a carrier oil;

I may do a post on that also!

The Waiting Process...

 

Enjoying The Last Portion Of Winter

It's not quite spring and we will surely get some more snow,

But I have faith that the crocus flowers will appear again!

One thing that has always brought me calm and peace;

Is my HOME

Sometimes cleaning and meal preparation,

Even washing dishes, or tidying up a room

is a healing balm to my soul.

Sometimes we can get anxious in the waiting process.

But actually it is in this waiting process, we grow.

We can keep busy and occupy while we wait:

As a homemaker, I can get a job that needs attending to

and get busy and as they say getter done (smiles)

Some days it seems the term puttering around the 

Home is a bit more accurate.

The world appears to be in a stage I do not recognize.

Keeping oneself calm and at peace can be challenging!

Watching too much news is not wise;

Don't talk about politics or world affairs with people

who do not agree with your belief in Christ?!

As it seems to lead to almost a verbal lashing.

Yet, we can talk to others about our faith and Christ!

Remember the government is on His shoulders!!

Here are a few quotes we have all heard or read before;

Home is among the holiest words.

A true home is one of the most sacred of places

It is a sanctuary into which men flee from the world's perils and alarms.

It's a resting place to which at the close of the day,

The weary retire to gather new strength,

For the battles and toils of tomorrow.

where life is schooled into discipline and strength,

Do You Observe Lent?...

Observing Lent

I have never observed Lent Season before,

I took the time and did some interesting research;

I found it all very refreshing and rich.

And with a sincere heart motive I am participating.

Lent Season

Repentance and understanding Christ sacrifice for us!

Ash Wednesday is the beginning of this season.

But I know you can start it any time as long as it is

Before Easter or shall I call it Resurrection Day!

When we sang this song on the evening of Ash Wednsday;

It was something that touched and stirred my heart!

It is only God who can grant us pardon from our sins!

And the prison we are captive in!

I always wondered what the Ashes signified?

Ashes are really just dust.

After Palm Sunday, they take the palms and burn them!

These are the ashes they used for the service.

 Ecclesiastes 3:20

All go to one place;

All are from the dust,

And all return to the dust.

Genesis 3:19

In the sweat of your face you shall eat bread

Till you return to the ground

For out of it you were taken;

For dust you are,

And dust you shall return.

All I can say it has a very rich meaning,

if taken to heart and not done as some ritual.

Sometimes when I pray that phrase has been used,

 I am but dust...

Life is so fragile and its good to be reminded of that.

I can truly say I have never given up anything for Lent!

Wasn't even sure if I wanted to.

This line in the song convicted me;

We are jealous, proud and impatient,

loving over much our things;

may the yielding of our failings be

Our Lenten offerings.

So as I have chosen to give up something for 40 days

I will pray to consecrate myself

 in my thoughts and words and deeds.

Even the 40 days are symbolic!

Have you ever given up something as onto the Lord?

I have so much to learn!

So thankful for God's grace to learn for eternity...

We Are Being Transformed From Glory To Glory, And Why Don't She Write...

 

Why Don't She Write...

Sometimes I just need to be quiet and reflect,

Especially when you are blind sided, by a friend,

Or a death of a loved one. 

And with all that is going on in our world!

One thing I have been seeing is a thing I will call projection;

Not fully aware I can explain what I am talking about.

When we are the target of someone's rejection that they feel,

They will project it on to you!

The saying goes like this

What they are accusing you of is what they are doing!

I have seen it in the media and it may be just good old fashion

Brainwashing folks!

I will just say I believe the attacks will continue.

Either from someone you trusted, or

A world leader gone mad...

When we are the object of wrath from someone or something;

I will stop and reflect, pray ponder, repent.

Being in a place of peace is profound!

Everything we are or hope to be is from the positional place

We will walk and live out, once we are saved is all...

IN CHRIST JESUS

The miracle of transformation.

Grace will be a subject of eternal revelation!

We will be learning forever and ever!

God will be the teacher!

And the school term will be Eternity!

When someone tries to teach you something in anger and superiority;

Beware, it comes from a different spirit!

His Kindness towards us in Christ Jesus!

May we be kind and forgive all those who have trespassed against us,

Only after we have asked forgiveness of our sins and trespasses.

The Lord has told us He will forgive us as we forgive others!

Make time to be refreshed!
