Cooking and Baking And Cleaning For Jesus...

Organic Strawberry Jam, Living From Glory To Glory Blog...

~Strawberry Jam~

Little Things Can Change The Home...

Discouragement is a tool of the devil...

Keeping your kitchen, cozy, clean and smelling delicious;

Is a ministry to yourself and others!

Cooking Is A Blessing To All, Living From Glory To Glory Blog...

Keep the stove HOT!

I see many women who are not growing in their journey.

Our homes and relationships are not functioning very well!

There has been such emotional stress in these last few years.

Many have become weary and tired and a bit bored.

May I say this to you today as I have just experienced this myself.

We must take stock of where we are and why!

We must find our happy place that is filled with purpose and joy.

Self reflection can be very healthy as long as we don't look

at just the negative stuff.

We are always having to push and revamp our hearts and homes.

We can even get discouraged just being on all the social media.

Why?

Because we are all different and in different seasons of life.

You must take each day and do something inspiring or creative.

We must show kindness and affection!

I am getting up a little earlier to do my Bible Study and prayer.

And making a plan to do something within my home!

I plan to change out my tablecloth in the kitchen!

I have been in the process of making up a sourdough starter this last week.

It has been interesting watching videos and talking to others about it.

It smells wonderful, I plan on making some pancakes for breakfast today.

Also want to try my hand at some English muffins.

Make an easy meal for dinner tonight!

Make your meals with simple ingredients.

I hope to share a few things I am doing around the Estate.

This is the home God gave me!

May I glorify God in what I set my hand to!

I am tired of allowing the ungodly to dictate my life or joy I feel.

Everything we do has value when we do it with the right attitude and heart!

Lord Of All Pots And Pans

Lord of all pots and pans and things,Since I have no time to be

A Saint by doing lovely things

Or watch late with Thee,

Or dreaming in the dawnlight

Or storming heavens gates,

Make me a saint by getting meals

And washing up the plates.

Thou who didst love to give men food

In room or by the sea,

Accept this service that I do--

I do it unto Thee.

Blessings To Each Of You Sweet Sisters!!

I do hope you feel encouraged and ready to do

Something that brings you peace and contentment!

How I Make My Version Of Minestrone Soup...

Minestrone Soup, Living From Glory To Glory Blog...

~Stay Calm And Make Soup~

These are the days for making soup for your family;
Even if you are feeding just yourself or a whole family!
Soup is nourishing and economical to make.
Soup is easy to digest
Soup can be made with so many different ingredients!
It can be served in lovely soup bowls or
your best china bowls!

We think of soup as a meal for cold and wintry days,
But soup can be eaten in every season!
You can make a hearty soup or a very light one.
Served with a slice of bread or crackers!

In a very fine restaurant you will even find a cold soup,
Such as vichyssoise, its a delicious soup made from
pureed leeks and potatoes, cream and chicken stock!
Also Gazpacho soup, this soup is spicy,
made with raw chopped vegetables,
Such as tomatoe, onions, peppers, and cucumbers.
This is delicious...

But this Minestrone Soup is wonderful!

This little clip, is one I did a long time ago so I thought,
I would add it to this post!

Minestrone Soup

This is a wonderful hearty soup filled with good things!

You can make this soup in your crock-pot or on top of the stove.
It has simple ingredients you will mostly have them in your kitchen,
Except maybe the zucchini, so pick up those fresh,
They will last in the fridge for about 4-5 days.

Ingredients Needed

Start with 3-4 cups water or beef broth
If using water, add some beef bullion for your broth
Italian sausage,
About 1 pound cooked
(Brown it up nicely in a frying pan)
1/2 cup lentils
1 can garbanzo beans
1 can diced tomatoes
2 small zucchinis

On the side have some angel hair pasta pre-cooked!
You can use any type of precooked pasta
(Don't add this to your crock-pot)

After the soup is done, lentils are soft;
Add; Sliced zucchinis
Cook for another 45 min or less till zucchinis are done
(Don't let the zucchinis get mushy)

Serve; In a bowl, add a handful of your cooked pasta,
Ladle a scoop of soup onto the noodles.

Can be served with a corn muffin or a biscuit!
Topped with butter and honey...

Enjoy,
Love, Roxy

Preparing A Pantry With Food Staples...

A Well Stocked Pantry, Livng From Glory To Glory Blog...

We Can Always Have A Full Pantry...
Even if it takes you 3-6 months,
By buying 2 extra items each time you go to the store!
Always buy them when on sale!!!!

Watch for the sales and go to one of those stores that have
 Off brand canned items.

But, I will say this I only buy what I like and will eat!

(Because if you don't like it, You will not eat or use it)

Pantry Shelf, Living From Glory To Glory Blog...

Some items have a longer shelf life;
Start with the staples first;
Then start adding some items that add flavor!
Have items to make quick breads!
Pastas that you can make meals with and to add to soups!

I think when a tough time or a crisis hits;
We can have enough foods in a pantry to buffer a blow.
Having a full pantry year round can help you or someone else!
Having extra to share is a blessing!

When you always keep your pantry full, you will not
Feel the need to start the hoarding mentality out of fear.

I also try to date foods and rotate them!
Then you shop from your pantry and replenish them as you use them!

What Are Food Staples...

Rice
Quinoa
Flour
Oatmeal
Dry Beans
Canned Beans and Vegetables
Canned Fruit
Applesauce
Vegetable Oil
Shortening
Baking powder
Baking Soda
Peanut Butter
Tuna
Canned Chicken
Chicken and Beef Boullion
Gravy Packets
Sugar, Brown and powder sugar
Carton Milk
Canned Milk
Mayo
Ketchup
Spices

Also keep your freezer stocked the same way!
Buy on sale double wrap the meats in smaller portions!
Rotate all items and keep a list of what is in the freezer!

Also, you must shop and cook from your freezer;
So items do not get freezer burned!

So may I encourage everyone that having a pantry well stocked;
Is like having money in the bank!

Even in a difficult time you can start slowly and get it going!

As Always, Living From Glory To Glory

The Goodness Of Honey...

Honey, Living From Glory To Glory..

If you are looking for all the values on honey;
This is not what this post is about!

I just feel that honey is so rich and is made by little bee's
That work so very hard to produce a rich amber sweetness!
Liquid Gold...

How Making Cookies With Almond Flour Helps Blood Sugar...

Almond Flour Cookies, Living From Glory To Glory Blog...

Cookies made with mostly Almond Flour...

So many of us are looking into Lower Carbohydrates in our diets.
It is so hard because everything we love contains carbs.

We love cookies, pasta and breads!
Yet these very foods cause a sharp insulin jolt to our blood stream.
And after years of it, we now can become insulin resistant.

Why are so many finding themselves in the category of high blood sugar?

Grains, Sugars our typical American cuisine

All foods are either:
Carbohydrates
Fats
Protein

In order for your diet to be reduced to a smaller amount of Carbohydrates
Will take work and a new found love for cooking.
And preparing meals and desserts that are better for your blood sugar.

Almond flour is a very good alternative to use in making
All the things you love!

I try to use mostly almond flour with a small amount of a Non GMO
Flour that has some gluten in it!
I do not want a dry, tasteless cookie or quick bread.
What's the point?

There are so many different thoughts on this subject;
That is why you must make a plan that works for you and your family!

I have read three books in the last year that have helped me!
Have I followed everything they have taught?
NO

But as a wise woman I have gleaned a bit of wisdom!

Wheat Belly
By William Davis, M. D.

Grain Brain
By Davis Perlmutter & Kristen Loberg

Trim Healthy Momma
By Pearl Barrett & Serene Allison

Find your middle ground...

Again, moderation in all things is best!

Almond flour is sweet and delicious and moist alternative!
Buy yourself a bag and keep in the refrigerator!
Use it and you will be surprised at how well it works!

Eating a meal that is higher in protein is much better then
Being really high in the carbohydrate form.

We must do what we can to stop the swing in blood sugar;
But we can help our bodies to stay within a safe zone.

You will find many sites and books on this very subject!

Eat And Drink For His Glory;

Tell me what you are doing to lower your amount of carbohydrates!

But if you want a special treat for yourself, you really must try this recipe!
You will love it!

How I Make Fresh Pico De Gallo...

Making Pico De Gallo From Scratch. Living From Glory To Glory Blog

This is an all time favorite for my family. But for myself also!
I love this fresh form of a salsa on my scrambled eggs and of course
Corn Tortilla chips are a must to eat with this fresh salsa.

I think making your homemade fresh salsa can be very frugal;
Look for the tomatoes when on sale.
Onions are super cheap
A couple of jalapenos cost next to nothing!

Here are the hot jalapenos!!
They are such a wonderful addition to make a dish pop!
I usually cut extra each time and freeze some for another side dish or for more salsa!

Ladies you must wear a rubber glove when you dice these little hot babies!

When cutting the jalapenos and the onions you need to dice them very fine!
I have had them in all sizes, but I think the smaller size makes a better blend!

Living From Glory to Glory Blog...

I like to use a sweet onion!

Fresh garlic cloves are the key in my opinion!
Living From Glory To Glory Blog, Fresh Garlic

You can use as many tomatoes that you want as this is the
Portion to give it body and quantity!
If you're a large family use enough tomatoes to make a quart jar!
If it is just two of you make a pint size jar filled.

You can use Roma tomatoes or vine ripened ones
(I have even used canned diced ones in a pinch)
~Do Not Tell Anyone~

Pico De Gallo

Fresh diced tomatoes
1 medium onion
3 to 4 Jalapenos, diced tiny
(Use rubber gloves)
3 to 4 cloves of fresh garlic
A dash of sea salt
A splash of lime juice or lemon.
Mix well

Put into a glass jar and refrigerate.
This will last for at least a week,
If it last that long!

Serve with love...

How To Make A Delicious Mini Tea Biscuit And A Tea Party...

How To Make Mini Biscuits, Living From Glory To Glory Blog...

Why having a tea party is so good for one's outlook on being a wife and mother and a lady!
Even little girls love tea parties.

Do you have a teapot?
If you do not have a teapot you must be on the lookout for one!
You can find them in antique stores, or a yard sale, even TJ Max sells them.
I have a few of them myself; and I even have a few single serve ones.
These little ones are nice for just yourself!

Here is a lovely two tiered plate filled with some tea party mini biscuits!
Tea Biscuit, Living From Glory To Glory Blog

These little tea biscuits or scones are so delicious!
I got this recipe from Lydia when I was out there visiting her,
She was gracious enough to share it with me!

I will share it with you also at the end of this post!

Tea Party Sandwiches... Living From Glory To Glory Blog

These little sandwiches were so good, they were filled with cream cheese spread
And chicken filling that was super yummy.
As we all know we can use just about anything inside our little bite size
tea sandwiches. I was told you could leave the crust on the bread because her
In America our breads are so soft and the crust is quite tasty.

We also had a riny glass cupped filled with cooked apples with a crumb topping
on top of them, but of course we had a dollop of fresh whip cream to top them off!

Serving tea is not just enjoying the tea itself, but we can also really
Enjoy the preparations for it!

I am learning to take pleasure in the process of all that I do for myself
and my family and loved ones.
You can truly make a burden out of everything if you are not aware of
how wonderful everything smells and taste if you add love!

Mini Biscuits For Tea

2 cups Flour
1 Tablespoon Baking Powder
1/8 tsp. Salt

In a bowl now add separately
1/2 cup oil
(I used a light olive oil)
1 Egg
1/2 Cup of milk

Mix the wet ingredients up well and now add to the dry ingredients;
You can add a bit of sugar if you want a sweet biscuit!

Mix the dough till all is moist and now pat it out to cut out your biscuits.
I used a small glass to make a tiny biscuit, you can use anything round.

Bake in a 350 degree preheated oven for only 10 to 12 minutes;
Just check the bottoms to see if they are slightly browned.

Serve these mini biscuits with some jelly of your choice;
Top them with a bit of whip cream!!

I have been looking for a small biscuit cutter, but so far I have only
A middle size one and so I am using a shot glass cup LOL

How To Make Some Marvelous Mini Meatloaves...

How To Make A Mini Meatloaf in A muffin pan! Living from glory to glory blog

I have been making these little mini meatloaves for a few years now!

These little gems of an old time dinner favorite,
or maybe you do not care for meatloaf.
But I am hoping you will try this delicious way to make
a new an improved mini meatloaf.

The advantage to this meatloaf is firstly the size,
Because it is so much smaller than the typical loaf pan size.
It will cook really fast!

You can also make a few different twists of flavors in each batch.
You can please each member of the family.
Italian, Mexican, BBQ

Items Needed

1 pound of your ground beef meat
1 package of Stove Top Stuffing
Any flavor you like, chicken, cornbread ect.
(Or you can use your own flavored bread crumbs)
1 cup of water added to the stuffing mix

Now mix all this together,
Grease a 12 cup muffin pan with your cooking spray

Press the meat mixture into your 12 cup muffin pan.
Make an indentation on top of each mini meatloaf
Now, this is where you add the goodies

You can add
 Tomato sauce and mozzarella cheese

Taco seasoning and salsa and Mexican style cheese

Garlic salt or powder and your favorite BBQ sauce and cheddar cheese.

See the ideas are endless...

I like to add some green chilis, another time some sauted onions.

Bake in a 350 degree oven, (preheat the oven)
They cook between 15- 20 minutes.
Cook until nicely brown and cheese is lightly browned.

These little meatloaves are great for a dinner party,
They freeze really well!
They make a delicious cold meatloaf sandwich
(We like our with some mayonnaise and ketchup on our french bread)

This is a great way to stretch your meat budget also.

These are a very tasty way to get a dinner on the table quickly!

Always cooking and trying new things can be a great way
to keep your menus filled with new and inspiring foods.

Look, even the old meatloaf has gotten a new makeover!

Have A Wonderful Day!

Making Caramel Apples...

Carmel Apples, Living from Glory To Glory Blog

Delicious Carmel Apples...

Sometimes in the changing of a season, I have found that I needed
To do something to help with the transitioning!

Maybe all feel a bit sad when you finally start to figure out
How to do something well, and boom its time to change.
( I remember feeling that way when we were learning to square dance
You would finally get into step or rhythm with your dance partner;
And it was time to swing to the next one in line)
Now mind you I was only in elementary school; but I wanted to stick
With the one who didn't step on my feet.

Well any who;
Fall is probably one of the best times of the year cycle
In the natural and in the stage of life.
You have all heard our ages, may correspond with
Spring, summer, fall and winter!

So let's just say my time or age is the fall season.
I just figured out the summer portion and here we have shifted!
Fall is refreshing with the cooler weather yet cozy!

Harvest and putting back and getting ready for early nights!

So I was wondering what I might make or do to help me!

So I decided I had not made caramel apples in years so this is
My choice of a transitional idea.

I made the trek to town and bought some apples
Honeycrisp, not too sweet, but a bit tart.
Two bags of caramels
A small package of popsicle sticks from the craft aisle.

Caramel Apples, Living From Glory To Glory Blog...

Then I needed my little helper!
Together we were able to unwrap all the little tiny caramels!

Caramels, Living From Glory To Glory Blog

Then I washed and dried all the apples;
And we put a stick into the center of each apple.

We placed the caramels in a heavy pan with
2 tablespoons of water and stirred constantly!
Once melted we put the apples in the oohy gooey caramels!
Our plan was to get some nuts on the sop of them, and sprinkles
But the camels hardened way too fast.

We placed them on some wax paper that was well buttered!
Then you put them in the refrigerator till you're ready to eat them!

Fall Traditions, Living From Glory To Glory Blog

What is new around the homestead?

I had my grandson pull out my tub
Of all my Fall decorations!
Looking forward to getting my mantel decorated for fall!

The little piggies are getting big!

Some cooler weather is in our area today!

I made some dumplings this morning!
Here is my recipe!

I ordered myself a new tea pot from;
Roses And Tea Cups

I have come to realize that in all these years that I have stayed home it
Has allowed me to be less stressed than many women I have encountered.

Still waiting for our newest grandchild to be born!

I made scones this morning!
Also the other day I made a lemon cream pie!

Blessings to each and every one of you!

How To Have A Kitchen That Truly Has Heart...

A Kitchen With Heart And Soul, Living From Glory To Glory Blog

Having a kitchen that truly has heart, must be filled with wonderful things!
I do not mean the latest kitchen gadget, but rather the things and stuff that matter!

So many ladies seem to cook out of just survival mode;
This may be because of lack of funds or foods to prepare.

But there is a true heart for cooking that can be made simple and inexpensive that
Just fill the atmosphere of one's own kitchen!

It does not matter if you are cooking for two or ten!

Stop allowing the world or the era to determine what you create!!

Some of these healthy things just taste like cardboard!

If you just look back into all the now changed data on
"What's good for you and what's NOT"

We were told to only eat margarine;
Well, now we are told BUTTER is the real food...
(I have always only used real butter"

Remember the fad called FAT FREE
Well, people just got fatter!

When a woman drinks milk her waistline slims down
(I am not sure why it works, but it does)
I drink lactose free milk as it's easier for me to digest.

Your kitchen should be the hub of your home...

To prepare a meal everyday that can fill bellies and the heart!

We have so many meals that are tasteless and heartless!

We need to recapture the love of foods that say love and family!

Please don't look and eat and act like the world!

Feed the bodies and hearts and minds all that enter your kitchen!

Cooking like sex is an attitude...
Bad attitudes create bad touch and taste!

Everything that you do in your kitchen will reflect in your health;
In your hearts
Your waist line
In your thinking
In your budget
In your marriage
In your relationships

The kitchen is not like the laundry room where you wash and fold!!

~The kitchen is where Love is cooked and shared and memories made~

We are obsessed with food in all the wrong ways!
Being larger is much better then starved and pencil thin!

A little less thinking about oneself and to think of serving a platter
of love and good eats leaves the family fulfilled and fed!

That is probably we see the explosion of food blogs and cooking channels!

We all know that you can clean and organize your kitchen;
And decorate is for very little in dollar amount.
And decorate it to look super cozy and elegant!

Your kitchen has a heartbeat dear ones!
Do you need to deliver some drastic measures to revive your kitchen?

Well get busy, you can take one whole day and get it back into shape
~A HEART SHAPE~

Here is an email I sent to my daughter for are oldest granddaughter!
Maybe it will inspire new cooks and us older ladies that have
been cooking for decades!

Please do not say I HATE to COOK...
Ask the Lord to help you have a love for the kitchen and cooking!

I was asked by my daughter if I would send some recipes to her for
my granddaughters new cookbook that she is putting together for her!

So I did find a few that I had not already sent her in the past!

But I just started writing some ideas down that I thought would
make for a great idea information sheet.
these are ideas that I have learned myself over the years and I have
always loved ideas to help me keep a cleaner and safer kitchen.
And ideas that help my pantry foods and freezer foods to be used wisely!

Cooking 101 Ideas
Grandma's Ideas ***

Find recipes that look good to you!
Think of foods that are good for you!
Have ideas for cheap and easy meals!
Find an idea that is just for you for the special feel good dinners!
When you eat something you really like while out, ask the hostess for her recipe!
Learn to change or tweak a recipe that has an item that you do not like!
Cooking should be a joy, do not look at it as a burden!

Keep your items that might go bad in the freezer like nuts or flours, if you buy in large quantities.

Always remember the 4 day rule; After 4 days, many left overs can become bad! Toss them out!
Potato salad is a 3 day rule...
(Trust me)

After baking your cookies keep them in the freezer in a tin canister with wax paper between the layers.
You can freeze scones and quick breads!
It is a good idea to bake ahead and freeze some as when you need it for a dinner or a guest comes for tea you can just pull it out!

Always mark what you are putting in the freezer and use it in a few months time.

Always keep a fresh pitcher of iced tea and lemonade to serve as it is economical and good for you!

Each week you can cook up a batch of rice or a pasta or par-cooked potatoes (you just boil them with the skin on till tender, drain and put in frig till you need them, as they last well over a week in the frig) for a quick side to add to your meals.
The rice can be a quick stir fry! The potatoes can be cubed or shredded for fried potatoes or hash browns!

You can freeze shredded cheese!

Always change out your dishcloth and towel in the kitchen everyday!

Clean out your refrigerator before you go food shopping!
Toss out old leftovers and wipe off shelves!
