This Covid Virus May Leave A Nasty Trail Of Side Effects...


Storm Over The Water, Living From Glory To Glory Blog...



This Covid virus has a nasty trail of side effects for some;

We all have done one of two things, totally extreme or nothing at all!
We must find the solution that works for you!

The guidelines we have been given are a small price to pay;
Have you heard of the group called the long haulers?
 This group of well meaning people is trying to make others
realize the huge range of symptoms that have lingered for them.
These symptoms are the after effect of having the Covid virus!

I believe we will be experiencing a storm of side effects!

These people are trying to get the word out, so others,
will realize this virus can have long reaching, life changing problems.

This virus is not as simple as either having the flu
for a couple of weeks or being high risk and dying.
"There's so much about this virus that our medical field,
knows nothing about! 
There are many things that we don't understand,
This has been in our country for only about six months,

My point is this, there are many people already living with
long term effects that we are just learning about.

Staggering List Of Symptoms
Cough, chronic fatigue, memory issues
Vision problems, chest heaviness, drastic heart rate,
Oxygen changes, reflux, nausea, dizziness, vertigo,
Joint pain, mild fever, tremors, dry mouth...
Many more according to the site,
I believe you can find the site through Facebook;
I do not have Facebook, so I found what I could to inform myself!
Just thought I would share, just in case you or someone else;
May be going through this 

I have a dear friend in this situation and its very hard to function!
Maybe I only know of one, but that's enough for me!

How long will these people suffer?
Well, I do not think they really know that now!
Struggle.

Wear masks, social distance and look out for each other!

But, please don't forget to live as normal as possible!
Enjoy your loved ones using some caution;
The big deal is this, there truly is no known pattern,
For how this might affect each person with their own health issues,
Or their body's response!

I for one, believe I had the virus late January;
I have experienced a few long lasting effects myself.
Vertigo and fatigue.

I am using essential oils and have added some supplements!
Building up my immune system!

We must all Plod On and Persevere...

An Additive That Can Make You VERY Sick...

What's this additive?

Well, firstly let me state this personal fact;
Every time I drank certain lactose free milks,
My stomach started rumbling and hurting.
It got so bad, I just knew there was some additive in these liquids that
Were making me so sick!

It took me a long time to realize that Carrageen made my stomach hurt.

Then other things started, my stomach hurt;
Alas, I have now found the culprit;

Any stabilizer made from these products that have been
Grown as fermented became in the same family of acidophilus.


Guar gum
Xanthan gum
Gellan Gum
Gum Arabic
Carrageen

These are a stabilizer used in many foods

One reason that food additives like emulsifiers may be potentially dangerous is because they can alter healthy levels of intestinal bacteria, which may contribute to chronic, low-level inflammation that promotes changes in cells in the digestive tract, It is like drinking a super cocktail filled with bacteria.

This can cause SIBO... 
(Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth)

Guar Gum has shown to cause digestive and abdominal stress.

Xanthan Gum is a product of bacterial fermentation.

Gellan Gum is an exopolysaccharide produced once again by
 Bacterial fermentation.

Gum Arabic acts as a powerful prebiotic, which stimulates the growth of bifidobacteria and lactobacilli.


Carrageen can cause inflammation in your digest track!



I am now drinking Rice milk which contained none of these ingredients.

Also The Brand Lactaid 2% has none of this stuff in it!
But, the Calcium enriched does!

Cookies made with mostly Almond Flour...

So many of us are looking into Lower Carbohydrates in our diets.
It is so hard because everything we love contains carbs.

We love cookies, pasta and breads!
Yet these very foods cause a sharp insulin jolt to our blood stream.
And after years of it, we now can become insulin resistant.

Why are so many finding themselves in the category of high blood sugar?

Grains, Sugars our typical American cuisine

All foods are either:
Carbohydrates
Fats
Protein

In order for your diet to be reduced to a smaller amount of Carbohydrates
Will take work and a new found love for cooking.
And preparing meals and desserts that are better for your blood sugar.

Almond flour is a very good alternative to use in making
All the things you love!

I try to use mostly almond flour with a small amount of a Non GMO
Flour that has some gluten in it!
I do not want a dry, tasteless cookie or quick bread.
What's the point?

There are so many different thoughts on this subject;
That is why you must make a plan that works for you and your family!

I have read three books in the last year that have helped me!

~Taking Naps And Refreshing Ones Self~


I have had this thought in my heart for many weeks;
I truly think we are living in a culture of crash and burn!

No one takes time to rest and refresh their hearts and the mind for;
Even a few minutes in any given day!

Napping is lost in a world of go and do...
It always reminds me of the hamster on that little wheel going
Nowhere really fast.

There seems to be a bit of guilt for needing or wanting to take a little rest
in any part of your day. I am not suggesting hours,
 but
20-30 minutes if possible!
And not everyday, dear ones, but as needed!
Some seasons and days are just more trying than others!

But in times of undo stress or winter days, or blazing heat;
We need to stop and rest in a comfy chair or couch or even your bed.
It use to be very common for a home or a bedroom to have
A lounge chair.
Keeping this in mind, we can have a little pillow and blankets handy,
For such a quick cat nap...

We are so busy are minds can become stressed and cluttered;
Learning to take stock in a few moments of down time can refresh
you so very much, you will feel renewed.
Not grouchy or cranky!
Those character traits are the very reason we put our little ones
down for a nap!
(You remember the attitude of that child that happened to miss nap time)

When I look at how even God allows His creation to rest!
Winter comes and plants rest in a dormant state.
Even some wildlife migrates or hibernates.

Take time and read and put your feet up!

I was deeply troubled to read an article on how many deaths happen
Because drivers fall asleep at the wheel.

Anyone who suffers from insomnia can tell you the disruption
lack of sleep will cause you!
So if we can stop feeling guilty and rest more often'
We will have greater clarity and a kinder disposition.

I am writing this article to warn you of the dangers of cell phone RADIATION

Do you really think that using a cell phone that emits radiation is not going to
 Cause a disruption of normal brain activity?

Truly think about this for a minute...

We just take it for granted, we are safe!

But I know that we are seeing now and will continue to see the effects
in ourselves and this next generation, than has grown up with this,
direct contact of radiation to their brains.

Your phone can get hot and it can even ignite!
You must realize the power that is being used.
It just serges radiation and can cause headaches!
Your temples feel inflamed!
Radiation in even small doses can cause cancer!

Look, I use my phone daily, most of us no longer even have a land line!

We have opted for convenience and this new system of connections.

I believe these phones disrupt our sleep patterns!

Make our heads feel fuzzy!

Some people will be more sensitive to these symptoms:
But even if you do not notice any symptoms, you can be sure
You are still getting some radiation!

Brain cancer is on the rise!
(I am not writing this article because my dear friend
 has just recently died of Brain Cancer!)

But rather because of some very strange feelings I have been having
while and after using my cell phone!!


You can use the speaker part of the phone!
Do not hold the phone close to your head!
(Each time you hold that phone to your ear, your head has now become an antenna)

Almond Milk Review...

So Many Have Become Lactose Intolerant!
Now, as I have said before, this has become an issue for me!

For the last few years I had some pain in my stomach,
Almost every single day!

I have been drinking milk my whole life.
But as I was having these terrible pains, I would tell myself
Just drink a nice warm cup of milk as that will be soothing.
So I truly had no clue it was the milk bothering me.

I had finally decided I was going to have to go see the Dr.
Well, I just prayed and thought about what all I was eating!
And it just popped into my head
"It's the milk"

So I have quit drinking all milks,
Whole milk 2%, Lactose free
It all makes me sick!

So I have tried many different brands of almond milk
I am an almond milk connoisseur...

The one in the middle called Almond Breeze
Original
This has turned out to be the best tasting and not thick or overly sweet!

The Coconut Almond one on the right is delicious!!
But pricey $$

I buy one of these for a nice treat, almost like dessert!

The Soy Creamer is good tasting for your coffee;
But the soy did not like me!






This brand of Almond milk is good, but way too thick for me.

Get Your Mammogram Ladies...

~Strength For Today~

Are you ever surprised that you made it through a day filled with challenges?

Or maybe it was for a longer period a season or years!

But as the years have come and gone, I can see the hand of God working!

I am not always sure how much we should share on our blogs;
But some things should remain personal!
Being transparent can be a good thing as long as you mix it with
a heavy dash of wisdom!

But if you are a woman and you have gone through the scare of a
Mammogram then this post is for you!

Do you make a point of having a good health screening?
Do you even find the free health screening in your town if,
(You do not have insurance)
They are available, it just takes a bit more effort on your part!

When you have a mammogram and then they give you a call back;
You can be sure they have found something suspicious!
As soon as you hang up the phone;
Fear comes in...
The fear of the unknown
The fear of cancer
The fear of death

Then you need to pull yourself together!
You pray like a woman that is fighting for her very life!
The air feels thick and everything moves in slow motion.

They tell you we have no openings for three weeks for an ultrasound!
WHAT!!
That is, when you practice being your own health advocate!
You ask to speak to the supervisor.

For many years I have gone to a place called Sally Jobe Breast Center,
But I thought that our small town now had a 3D mammogram,
So I went to our local hospital instead!
In my case because of many previous problems;
I should of made the extra effort and went to the same facility!

If I had gone to the Sally Jobe Center,
They would of did the mammogram and if they saw anything they would
of done the ultrasound right away on the same day!
Then, if it looked suspicious they would of done a biopsy!

Then you would of had all the scare and worry in a shorter time span!
Not weeks, and if it would of been cancer, then you would
Be able to be informed about the best places in your state for care!
Now that's what I call good health care for women!

Why are so many ladies think that if they ignore their health
(like no news is good news)
They will be fine?

Ignorance is just so silly!!
Many women are still alive today because of good health screening!
I believe it is just fear when someone does not use the very things God
has put in place to keep you healthy and alive!

I had a dear friend who died of breast cancer and it was so sad!
She was brave and she did have the blessings of being
able to experience remission for a couple years.
I believe it gave her time to live her last and to die in peace!

Do you understand the value of good health screening?



I am counting my blessings, and I never take a good health report for granted!

How I Make Fresh Pico De Gallo...


Making Pico De Gallo From Scratch. Living From Glory To Glory Blog

This is an all time favorite for my family. But for myself also!
I love this fresh form of a salsa on my scrambled eggs and of course
Corn Tortilla chips are a must to eat with this fresh salsa.

I think making your homemade fresh salsa can be very frugal;
Look for the tomatoes when on sale.
Onions are super cheap
A couple of jalapenos cost next to nothing!

Here are the hot jalapenos!!
They are such a wonderful addition to make a dish pop!
I usually cut extra each time and freeze some for another side dish or for more salsa!

Ladies you must wear a rubber glove when you dice these little hot babies!

When cutting the jalapenos and the onions you need to dice them very fine!
I have had them in all sizes, but I think the smaller size makes a better blend!

I like to use a sweet onion!



Fresh garlic cloves are the key in my opinion!

You can use as many tomatoes that you want as this is the
Portion to give it body and quantity!
If you're a large family use enough tomatoes to make a quart jar!
If it is just two of you make a pint size jar filled.

You can use Roma tomatoes or vine ripened ones
(I have even used canned diced ones in a pinch)
~Do Not Tell Anyone~



Pico De Gallo

Fresh diced tomatoes
1 medium onion
3 to 4 Jalapenos, diced tiny
(Use rubber gloves)
3 to 4 cloves of fresh garlic
A dash of sea salt
A splash of lime juice or lemon.
Mix well

Put into a glass jar and refrigerate.
This will last for at least a week,
If it last that long!

Serve with love...

How to be a good cook...
Enjoy preparing your meals,
Enjoy eating them,
Enjoy the company...

I am not obsessed with purity and strictness in my cooking or eating.

I enjoy flavor and texture and simple!
I enjoy the spices and fragrance!

Everything is not organic!
Everything is not sugar free!

I love my kitchen!
I love feeding my Husband and family!

I did learn to cook from my Mother as a young girl;
She was a good cook and took joy in preparing food for us.

So many times we can get stuck in the same foods and dinners,
But for myself that is where I find the comfort for me.

I will try a new dish every once in a while!
I will watch a cooking show and get inspired.
Or a may get a cookbook from the library.

Usually when I am shopping I will see what just looks appetizing,
or what might be on sale!

Preparing meals with food that are in season is always the best!

We eat a lot of asparagus in the spring months when it is fresh and cheap.
And sweet corn in the few weeks it is at its peak.
When you find that when fruits or vegetables are in season they are the best!

Enjoy what you prepare and experiment when the mood hits you!

I just cleaned out my cookbook shelf and I did get rid of many of them.
I always keep a few out and when I am sitting in the kitchen I can look at one
and get inspired, and see the notes I have written next to some of the recipes.

Summer we tend to eat lighter and simpler!
In the fall and winter we need more to feel full.

I try to bake something special once a week.
We try to eat some fish weekly.
I do try to watch the intake of carbohydrates!

Hummus is a good snack food!
Eating crackers and cheese is better than a cookie!
A homemade cookie is healthier than store bought ones!

Everything in moderation...

They Call It A Silent Killer, High Blood Pressure...


Hello Dear Friends...

Just an important message on the culprit thing called the silent killer!
High Blood Pressure

I have learned so many new things about Blood Pressure;
When I first started feeling really weird and I had no idea as to what was causing it!
I was very concerned and a little frightened...

When you have never felt a certain way before, and you can
not explain the weird symptoms you are feeling;
Headache
Dizzy
Lightheadedness
I could hear a rushing sound in my ears when I laid down!


Thankfully, I was feeling a bit under the weather so I went
To my doctor, I think it was God's providence!
They took my blood pressure reading and it was very high!
Then by the weekend I was in the ER with an off the chart high reading.
They did nothing for me they just assured me I was not dying!
They just did not want me to stroke out (really)
 And as it was on a Sunday, that was the only place to go!
They told me to go to see my physician in the morning;
So I went to my doctor first thing in the morning...

As I tend to believe that diet and lifestyle will cure anything!
I googled everything
I kid you not I was convinced eating celery would cure me.


Firstly, I want to mention that some high blood pressure;
Is completely from genetics...
Before we think that all blood pressure can be completely
Controlled by diet or supplements!
NOT
These things can help control it, but not make it go away, if it is genetics!

They gave me some medication for it!
I was never so glad to take a medication in my life.
Also, there are different kinds of medicines they give.
Diuretics;
Beta blockers
ACE inhibitors
Angiotensin ll receptor blockers
Calcium channel blockers
Alpha blockers
Alpha-beta blockers
Nervous system inhibitors
Vasodilators

They put me on the ACE inhibitors
ACE stands for angiotensin-converting enzyme.
This class of drugs inhibits production of the hormone angiotensin ll
Which usually causes blood vessels to narrow,
Thereby increasing the pressure inside


Just another curve in the road called life...

Better Choices for eating More Fruits And Vegetables...

One thing that always can be seen this time of year;
So many of us try to make a decision to eat better and to make better choices!

I for one think this is a good idea as it resets your internal clock for food choices.
Thinking along the lines of more fresh fruits or vegetables.

I did see a young woman in the grocery store in her yoga pants
She looked totally inspired, maybe she ran to the store!
Just with a cart filled with fresh veggies it looked like a work of art!

But I did want to encourage her, but I also wanted to say;
Just remember those fresh fruits and veggies go limp pretty quick!
Who out there has not had rotten bananas before a few days had passed!
Oh, and the limp celery, but you can usually get that to crisp up.

And those tomatoes that sprout seeds inside (yuck)

These bodies need so many good things...
I for one need protein every morning
Also, if I eat too many fruits with a lot of seeds it hurts my tummy!

Juicing to much to quick can raise the sugar levels and that feels yucky!

So for me the best approach is all things in moderation!

Buy a few vegetables at a time and use them up!
Eat the ones that are in season, as they are cheaper and fresher!

Eat right and light...
Yet, a little sweet for a treat makes a girl happy deep down inside!



I always love seeing pretty bright veggies in a bowl...

Garlic Wonders And Ways To Use It...

Garlic Wonders...

Garlic is a very interesting food wonder and also a medicinal treasure.

After many years of enjoying garlic and preparing it by crushing or slicing it up,
I have found a way to enjoy it in so many different ways.
Simply by cooking it slightly;

So once again, I  have been newly reminded of its value.

Of course we all have added fresh garlic to a spaghetti sauce,
But now I can use it in so many more things.
But to eat it with other dishes as a health benefit is what I am talking about.

I have been taking a few whole bulbs of garlic and I cut off the end of the root,
 And then I place them in aluminum foil, then I drizzle them with olive oil,
Wrap it up and bake them in the oven or;
You can even use your toaster oven on the toast setting and they cook up great!
But it is best to only cook it for a short amount of time or until just tender.

Garlic Benefits
Garlic has so many benefits;
Garlic contains a compound called Allicin

Garlic has an anti-inflammatory properties in it.
Also, it has an antiviral action that helps fight infection and fungus.
Garlic may also improve our metabolism of iron.

I like to make a bunch of it up at a time and then I can use a cooked clove in many things.
Scrambled eggs or an omelet. Add it to soups and sauces!

If you ever make up your own hummus spread it taste so much better 
if you use the lightly cooked cloves instead of it being raw.
We have been eating hummus for a great healthy snack
So Add some cooked garlic cloves to it, and spread it on some crackers!
Also try adding it to egg salad it just makes it delicious!
You can use it in so many different foods when it is lightly cooked!
So Yummy!

I guess the key is to incorporate it into your daily meals, just not spaghetti sauce.
Be adventurous...

                                      The garlic has been referred to as the stinking rose!
I think our bodies adapt to the strong smell of garlic;
And we will not be so sensitive to the fragrance of it if we all eat it!
So you must share your garlic with those you love.

Why We Must Take Care Of Our Teeth...

 

Having a Sweet Mouth...

Is your mouth filled with bad breath?

Seriously, I never thought I would have to write a post on brushing one's teeth!

But I really have had a burden to remind others of this very important
Hygiene habit.

Our mouths are to be a source of love and grace!
But when you neglect to take care of these amazing teeth,
You may suffer from many things!

You might have stinky breath,
If your loved one shy away from your kissing them...
I find it rather odd that we live in a tell it all society
And yet we will not bother to tell someone that their breath stinks!

For Pete's sake, you can get a new toothbrush from the Dollar Store.
Toothpaste and floss and mouthwash...

Come on Dear Ones, there is no excuse for bad breath;
And decay of one's teeth!
It is just pure and simple laziness once again.

I remember being at a Brownies meeting as a child and we had a
Person come in and tell us all how important it was to take care
Of our teeth...
Also in school, we had a dentist come in and show us how to properly brush them!
It does not require Rocket Science to do this!

Even if you have no dental insurance you can still have good oral hygiene.
Poverty is no excuse for allowing your teeth to fall out!
I think a person who has bad teeth can start even now to take care of them!
Please teach your children and grandchildren to brush their teeth!


Why are so many people letting their teeth just become rotten?
Is it just another sign of neglecting what is important?


If you want romance and some good kisses for goodness sakes
Brush your teeth...

Brush and Floss twice a day
To keep your mouth and teeth clean and healthy!

Please go to the store and buy all your loved ones a kit;
It should contain these items:
A Toothbrush
Toothpaste
Dental Floss
Mouth Rinse

So You Will Have These;
Fresh Breath
Pretty Mouth
Healthy Teeth


So there you have it...
Who wants to be around someone with stinky breath?

Good healthy teeth brings good dividends to one's relationships.
A healthy heart starts with healthy gums in your mouth.

It is a beauty secret and can be used for health benefits.

You can use it as a facial mask;
Mix with a small amount of honey and smooth a bit in your face and neck.

A Homemade Organic Lemon Cough Syrup

This is the easiest and best no side effects cough syrup ever!

1- Organic lemon
1/2 cup Organic honey

Wash lemon and dice into small chunks.
Add to your honey
Stir well
Place in a small glass jar with lid;
Set in your frig and use as needed for coughs or sore throats!

This must be kept refrigerated and will last for about 2 months!
Taste good and really quells a cough and soothes the throat!
No side effects
 And taste and smells wonderful!

Having some frugal medicinal items for your home is wise!
I think you will find this cough syrup works well;
But as we all know, sometimes we need to see a Doctor!

But we know it cost more when we get sick!

Keep the germs off my hands, when I get home, I just pop them in the washer!
(Years ago ladies wore gloves, while out in public!
