I Say What I Think

There are many people that think and boast that this a fine quality!

They call this being honest, and feel they have the right to fling words,

around like they were spreading fertilizer on their spring grass.

With no thought of whom they might wound or harm...

Did you know that even fertilizer can kill a wild grass or a tender new shoot?

Saying what you think can be downright cruel!

Our thoughts and words are not to be used as a reckless means of communications!

Be mindful of the words you speak;

Be not like the lion seeking to whom he may devour!

There are ways to say and speak our minds, with tack!

And also will bring a sweet balm...

We have no right to leave a trail of;

Bad Humor

Jealousy

Critical Words

Miserable with oneself

Speaking our evil thoughts and hurtful words!

Beware...

I have heard it said, I have earned my right to speak my mind!

NOT TRUE

We are told to grow in wisdom and grace.

I grieve when I remember a few times when a women spewed her mind,

(And they said; "what's her problem")

Her problem is this;

She is mad, has not learned self control, is abusive with her words!

Learning to take every thought captive is what I desire to accomplish!

Even if it requires biting my tongue!

Because bitter words, never produce good!

Words lovingly and softly spoken will bring a better outcome!

Sometimes, this is just not always easy;

This is why it is important to be well rested and eating well,

So you do not become a grumpy person!

Do You Allow Your Struggles To Define You...

~What Defines You~

I have seen so many people who have gone through a struggle;

And they are having such a hard time with it,

And they have become the struggle...

What happens is everything is on the timeline of the struggle.

Trust me, I know this to be true in my own life;

And I have seen it consume the life of many.

Look the struggle does not ever go away;

Even if you get through this struggle, another one is on its way!

I have always loved the scripture that Joy comes in the morning!

Because if you will take each day in the struggle and purpose,

In your heart to live life even if you're dying or very sick.

Look mortality rate in at about 100%

But, I figure if I am going to live my days out;

I have purposed in my heart to pray to not allow anything

That is bad to define me.

I have learned the hard way to not burden everyone else with my woes!

I share with only a few people that we have the love and privilege

To help one another, but even then after a while it will become a weariness!

Each day is a new day with the chance to have a new beginning!

As humans we get a picture of what we hear and read in our heads.

I do not want to be known for my woes and sickness or troubles!

So even in my stage of life I want to be a joy to be around;

Not my woes and pain or struggles!

We all have them and as a Christian it has seemed to be a battle going on!

But if there was no battle we would not have any victories!!

Please pray about this word of wisdom;

I wrote it to encourage you!!

Keep Your Private Cares To Yourself...

Everything seems large and unmovable...

But, On the bright side some things are meant to be unmovable!

Have you or a loved one been tried in your body or emotions this last season?

When we are tried from every side;

We can only go up!

We all feel like giving up once in awhile;

But it is a fleeting thought because we are able to change,

Our thoughts go in the direction we tell them to go in a way that lifts us up.

~This is called self-control~

I have learned so much in these last few months!

May I share a few of them with you?

Keep your private cares to yourself and spouse and a very few trusted friends!

Never give in to the lies of the enemy!

~The only way you know if it is a lie is by knowing what the Word says~

Be your own advocate in health matters, social matters

~Remember, you know yourself better than anyone~

Do not allow a problem or issue define who you are!

Beware of all the health craze diets;

Trust me it can cause much harm, eat sensibly;

~All things in moderation~

You do not have to be friends with everyone you know!

Be kind to yourself...

When things get stormy make up a Battle plan;

~This will help you so much~

I had a very dear older lady friend that told me that it

Is becoming very apparent that the woman no longer desire or care to learn

Remembering to enjoy the company of others.

I think having good friends is very healthy!

We were created for fellowship...

When I was much younger, I had many so called girlfriends!

But my family was always front and center;

Yet, so many drifted away.

Do you find that maybe you are staying closer to your family unit?

Having a faithful friend is becoming a rare treasure.

What has changed?

Technology tells us we are more connected!

My heart tells me this is not so...

My Husband's place of business stresses this motto

"Safety First"

We must look at this for our homes also;

Opening the door to strangers has proven to be unsafe.

So maybe as I look at with whom I may fellowship with

Is getting smaller...

Have you ever encountered a con man or women?

Well, let's just say that this is what they do.

"A man who cheats or tricks someone by gaining their trust

  Persuading them to believe something that is not true."

 I am not a suspicious person;

But let's just say being alone is better than opening

Your heart and home to something that is not true!

Will you be diligent and watchful?

Just because they seem so nice;

Cover your loved ones with prayer

Asking for discernment in their lives!

I think walking around with a double barrel shot gun;

Possibly could deter crime...

Granny was a bit suspicious!

She obviously wanted to protect something!

Now days we have alarms for everything

 Our homes

Alarms on our cars

Alarms on our business

God has even given us an internal alarm!

Warning about impending possible danger...

 Many younger women are out way too late and going

Places where they are putting themselves in danger.

And I think many are oblivious to who may be watching them!

Are you an easy target?

Do you take steps daily to ensure your own safety?

Do you give out pertinent information online?

It truly is lovely to live in La La Land;

But trust me, this is not the same America or town I grew up in!

Were not in Kansas anymore, Toto

Maybe Granny was wiser than she looked!

When you get hacked or mugged or conned,

Don't look back and say this

I wish I had been wiser...

Look under your car after it has been parked for a bit

Lock your door of your home, even if you live in the country

Park, close to the store when possible

Look at your surroundings

Make eye contact, let them know you're watching them!

Teach your child self safety

Stranger Danger...

Truth can be elusive in the life of most of us if we are not diligent.

It is not about just having facts or the right figures;

Many things that some might deem important,

 May one day be considered wood, hay and stubble.

What is of value, is something that endures through all the trials

and afflictions and those petty things that chap your hide.

Why should we worry about being led astray?

I find this very thought, upsetting because I believe;

So many are being led to the slaughter,

Like sheep with no shepherd.

Wisdom comes from the book of hard knocks for some;

Wisdom comes from being humble and is willing to learn;

Wisdom can be something that is handed down;

Wisdom is knowing when to say enough and walking away from evil or sin;

Wisdom is using words that give life and encouragement;

Wisdom is when you don't believe everything you read or hear!

Wisdom comes from precepts that hold life;

Wisdom comes in small nuggets;

I love this photo on this blog post. I took this many years ago!

I love the plate that is covered in sprigs of rose flowers and buds,

And a pretty gold edging that brings the class of richness!

Green leaves that speak of being alive;

But the pearls make me so very happy!

They work together and align in harmony!

The color and shine and endurance are superb!

In a world of information overload,

 We can all be left a bit dazed and confused!

"If it's on the Internet it must be true right?"

It seems that there is nothing that is in agreement anymore.

If you Google a question you will find many answers;

And you will find that many answers will conflict with each other!

Who is right?

Who is wrong?

There is so much good wisdom that can be learned,

Yet, you can also be led astray;

God has given us all a head that contains a mind!

We must never empty it...

If you do there is a pull to fill it with garbage and untruth!

We are told to use it wisely...

Just because someone has a had an idea to do something;

Does not mean you are meant to follow along!

Take all the many diets and ways to eat out there-----

You must use your head and choose wisely

And you do not need a Guru to show you the way!

We are told; All things in moderation

Food, Exercise...

Listen, learn, and live...

Some things will get a strong hold on you and you now are a slave!

Being wise is learning to say NO

Being teachable is a good quality!

This world is trying to teach us to all look and act alike!

Sounds like cloning to me!

Look, research something and list the facts,

Not an urban legend,

God has not left us with any secret code and mystery!

He is truth and things from Him will line up and give life and liberty!

Being disciplined is great, but consider the cost, you may be paying!

Pray Hard

Eat Well

Show Kindness

Stay Away From All Forms Of Extrems

Seek His Truth In His Word, Not The Latest New Best Seller

Too Much Information can cause more confusion...

Beware of sharing too much to too many!!!!

Don't live your life in a fish bowl...

Use some discernment people...

You might as well list everything you do every day on the internet!

Do not allow the internet to form who you are called to be!

Be private and lead a quiet life!

God Works The Nightshift...

Have you ever worked the night shift?

Well, every new mother than has a newborn has worked the night shift!

I am so thankful that God works the night shift...
It brings me great comfort!

How many nights were you all alone?
 Or in a hospital room all by yourself?
Have you ever been home alone?
 Maybe you have had to drive through your town all alone in your vehicle
Where all the homes are dark, and all the business are closed.
It is a bit eerie!

But not everyone is sleeping!
Some are driving straight through the night to get to their destination.
There are doctors and nurses working in the corridors of a hospital.

A cop works the night shift!
A baker bakes its bread in huge ovens during the night.
A young soldier has guard duty and must stay alert on his post!
A student must study all night to be able to pass his finals.

God Works The Night Shift...
~All that night the Lord drove the sea back~
Exodus 14:21

"It's much easier to trust God when the sun is shining"

Our God never slumbers or sleeps;
We can take great comfort in knowing that while we sleep
He is always guarding us and watching us!

If you are struggling with anything in your life;
Encourage yourself in knowing this!
Even while it is night, He is working on your behalf!


Give your troubles to him in the dark!
Roll your burdens upon Him...
He sees in the dark, it is as day to Him!

Go one dear ones in boldness and confidence

Snow Wonder...

It's No Wonder...

Wonder where (not underwear you silly goose)

All the Time Goes?

Have you ever been so very sick during a holiday season?

Well, if you ever have, you will learn this one thing;

You will do only what you can do and it will have to be good enough!

Many times we will have something that will hit ourselves;

Or another one of our loved ones. And then we have to stop and take stock!

Sometimes you may have to eat just plain old canned chicken noodle soup

with crackers and cheese!

Some of you ladies are so great at making holidays and birthdays 

such special occasions. I have always felt a bit lacking sometimes.

But a quick detour on a roller coaster ride of health issues,

Can make you quickly realize what is needed and what else is fluff.

Life can be filled with great joy and sorrow

side by side...

I have been so weary and tired, yet by God's great Grace

A new day comes and a bit of strength returns!

My focus has changed in so many areas anymore.

As you run your race, as we both well know it's what we must do;

Keep your eyes on the prize...

Don't look at your feet for you will surely stumble!

Just hold tight to the Baton you hold in your hand!

Oh, and if you feel a bit lonely at times it is completely normal,

For this is not our home!

Oh, and if you are moving a bit slower some days no worries;

Even if you drive over the speed limit, they will still

Pass you like you're sitting still!

Take those extra few moments to get your motor running!

Why We Need To Have Boundaries, And How To Make Them...

Boundaries...

Why are so many people powerless to set boundaries?

Most the time is because we do not want to hurt another person's feelings;

Knowing your own personal boundaries will keep you healthy!

Knowing what is my stuff gives me freedom!

There are things and people that will try to diminish you!

Learning to be able to tell others what "YOUR  BOUNDARIES ARE"

This is key...

Have you ever heard someone say, well they never told me that!

People cannot read your mind!

You also can not assume!

We must learn are own comfort and safe zones.

Being able to say I am not comfortable with this;

Behavior

Rudeness

Manipulation

Knowing your boundaries helps you,

And in the long run, it helps others!

We are not responsible for other adults boundaries.

But if you do not take care of your own perimeters

You will open the gate to wolves!

No one can do certain things for us!

People will try to lay all their burdens upon you!

We are all called to carry our own burdens!

So many people are just plain irresponsible, and then we are backed into a corner,

If only you will say enough and NO to certain things!

Look, it's your home and your life;

Believe that you have a right and an obligation to keep certain things out!

The reason a good fence has a gate you can open is so you can let the

GOOD IN

And keep the

BAD OUT

If you don't, you might as well put a revolving door on the front of your home.

God limits what He will allow in His Yard!

He guards His house and will not allow evil to live there.

I learned many years ago to set boundaries!

We do not have to be a door mat for everything that comes along.

Our Words will have to be our defense for setting boundaries!

NO...

That behavior is not acceptable

Drinking

Smoking (cigarettes, pot)

Foul language

Touch

We can say these things with a voice of ownership!

Mean what you say

Passivity will never set boundaries, but will keep you stuck and  you will become resentful!

I had a problem years ago with someone who always brought their dog

Huge dog and he always would pee on my floors!

I finally told them nicely that it was not going to work for me any more.

Guess what, they never came back;

They were mad at me forever!

Yes, it was sad, but that was the beginning of finding my voice and knowing

My limits and my boundaries...

Being honest or truthful will hurt someone!

But the truth will set you free.

Preserving our own soul from wolves that desire to kill us!

Being aggressive for the right to keep our homes safe and our hearts healthy!

Stress and saying yes to everything makes one weak and vulnerable!

Take heart, we are more than overcomes!

I am thankful that in this season of my life I have very few people who

try to manipulate or diminish me, we have a sweet family and friends!

Keep watch and learn how to set healthy, safe boundaries for yourself!

What Will Your Hands Be Remembered For...

 

What will your hands be remembered for?

What do you have in your hands?

If I would just stop and take a moment to look down at my hands

Throughout my day, I would have a better account for my time.

My hands may appear to be idle if I have them folded in prayer;

But, that is one of the greatest purpose of our hands.

Some days my hands are dried out from washing so many dishes;

But, I give thanks for the people to cook for and the foods we eat!

My hands have colored with a little child and no worries

about staying within the lines.

I have massaged many achy backs and tension headaches.

The power of touch is healing in itself!

How many times have you poured something to refresh a loved one!

My cup overflows...

How many words were penned with your hands,

Letters of encouragement are needed.

I wear a wedding ring that reminds of a promise

To love and to cherish...

Holding another persons hand that needs assurance and support!

By holding a drowning person's hand, you will save a life...

Theirs and Yours

Hands to steady a beginners first step, to helping balancing

And elderly one from falling...

May your heart be full with what you hold in your hand...

Keeping A Watchful Eye, Or Shall I Say Eyes...

 

Seriously---Seriously

Now is the time to make sure you have your eyes in your head,

And looking in the right direction...

You remember the saying:

"I have eyes in the back of my head"

Well, you better be using them!

Things are ramping up...

The North wind will be blowing!

But we must keep our eyes on the SON

One thing you can be sure of in the days of Apostasy;

They will become more and more apparent!

As a Mother and Grandmother, I take my role to heart!

Making sure I pray for their safety and for them to walk away

From lies and deceptions...

But this world is filled with smoke and mirrors;

We are not seeing what is really there anymore.

It just teaches me, to be watchful!!

Be aware of your surroundings..

Evil purposes lurk in the very places we might have felt safe.

Keep Your Heart With All Diligence

Pray for all your loved ones to be in the TRUTH...

Error and Deception are trying to lead many astray...

One Prayer I have earnestly taken to heart is this...

Lord, Please open my eyes to any lies or deception or false doctrine

That I may be believing or trusting in!

The Great I Am will answer a prayer like that one!

Your Life Is A Mirror...

I have been thinking about my reflection, not only my past, but the future!

Reflection can be a powerful tool for the future!

You have all heard the saying "Love is blind"

But what it really means is that we can see the good in others,

Even when they might not see any worth in themselves!

Or just the opposite; they are puffed up and self righteous.

I have the opportunity to reflect something of value.

What you see and hear and do in this life will have a reflection!

What you look like will eventually reflect more of the heart then your appearance!

I am hoping for the softness of my character;

Hues of bronze and golds...

Shimmering hopes of tears of happiness;

Joys that bring light to my eyes;

Not a darkness, but open to the fragments of truth I glean!

Why is the world drawn to dark and dreary?

Throw open the curtains and pull up the blinds;

Refuse to live in the dark!

Even a very small beam of light can and will make a difference!

All the different arrays of spectacular colors show us that

Each of us is given off a reflection!

Don't think of the dark!

Rather, think of the Heros who live each day to be a help;

And a blessing to others.

I might just be a little Aspen leaf turned golden yellow on a 

Very tall tree, but I matter...

I will be the very best at what and who I am!

Shine and be the quiet tinkling of words of love and encouragement!

Embracing The Future...

See my little squirrel on my mantel?

My sweet new addition to my mantel;

Actually, almost everything up on it for my fall decor is new.

I had in my mind to jazz it up a bit this year!

Everything that is usually on it, I moved it to the kitchen hutch!

The honking geese flying over the house tells me that

Fall is coming...

Life has moments of spiritual exaltations,

But God balances them with daily toils.

Lord, may Your Word, cultivate love in my heart!

In these days we must warm our homes and hearth

with all the things that bring hope and joy!

You can take a strand of twinkly lights and place them,

About the living room or kitchen and bring a happy ambience.

It's time to wash all the throw blankets for keeping cozy!

Get the blankets you use on the bed, washed and ready for cooler nights!

Looking at the shorter days ahead and not getting prepared,

will cause you not to be ready!

I want to be girded up and have some ideas for a few crafts!

I have some material for some new curtains in my living room.

Looking at everyday tasks and responsibilities,

we see that not all of them are not enjoyable.

But I am asking the myself;

"How can I spark JOY in my heart and bring JOY to my Father"

Last year I was not prepared for the long, cold days and evenings.

So I am trying to refocus and make a list of things to do!

Our men will have to chop and split and stack firewood!

I will be putting up my warmer curtains!

Begin where you are and build upon each day in this month!

You will be able to look back and see the wisdom in being prepared!

May others look at your home and JOY and ask;

"What Is The Occasion"

Everyday is a holiday...

Anxiety Verses Faith...

Run for the gusto...

Some trust in chariots, and some in horses;

But we will remember the name of the Lord our God

~Psalms 20:7~

Anxiety verses Faith

Seems like a no brainer;

But as you are all well aware of the days we live in;

I think they are what the Bible calls perilous days...

But, we still must take control over what we see and hear;

Over exposure will cause harm to a person's soul

(Mind, will and emotions)

Are you working each day to keep your heart and home in

Complete trust in the Fathers provisions?

We must do the work and not become lazy!

I am learning to live in an hourly dependence on God!

He will give us strength!

He will give us wisdom and our resources!

Remember....

~What is truly needed~

Do you want to be reminded of the murders and the wars?

Do you want to hear and talk of all the suffering and pain?

Innocence is lost through worldly thinking in its ways!

You want to run with the big guys?

Or

Stay in a place where you are able to pray and to make

A real safe haven in a world that has gone evil!

Look, if you want what the world wants;

You can go work for it...

Take all your precious hours and days and get it all!

After all, whoever dies with the most toys wins; "right?"

So we have a choice here

We can live in anxiety and suffer the ills of your health and miss

The sweet opportunities God gives you,

 Because you have

 Chosen the hustle and bustle of the chariots on the highways and byways.

But Faith, if you will but trust in this perfect design

Of the harmony of body and soul as you allow the Holy Spirit,

To lead and guide you hour by hour!

You will find rest and will be able to run with gusto for what really matters!

Always, I share my heart and my desire is to encourage you in

Your journey and walk with Christ!

Yet, to be able to have the strength to run with gusto!

Wildflowers Will Bloom In A Drought And Floods...

The Season is Changing

What is it that you desire this season?

Are you weary and tired?

We can all say that we have experienced times of uncertainty.

But when we learn to allow a gentle, quiet resolve in our emotions;

We will fair much better in each change of seasons and situations.

We have heard someone being spoken as being easy going.

I believe in many circumstance's it would be considered a compliment!

Do you really want to be contentious in your thoughts and words?

When I hear or see a woman being loud and rude;

Or a man,

I just cringe!

(We have become not Angry Birds, but people)

So many people are just plain tired and worn down;

We have left our guards down as women and the floodgates have been opened!

Our Homes, must be a safe Harbor

We have lost so much civility in our homeland.

But I may be an optimist at heart, but seeing the compassion

of so many willing to help strangers in their time of need;

Gives me great hope!

Look, we cannot save the whole ship that seems to be sinking.

But we sure can throw out a lifeboat to someone!

I find that if I watch very little to no news I do well;

If I watch the same desperate clips over and over again,

I feel a bit hopeless;

This is not biblical or healthy!

We are called to pray and to give if we can!

But these disasters, are things that can shock us!

But because we are saturated with doom and gloom;

We have a seared reaction switch.

I think many have more compassion for the animals than the people.

But we must have Mercy and compassion for all.

So once again, I am reminded I have a small arena of influence.

May I use it well, and bring comfort to those closest to me!
