Spur One Another On...

How can I encourage another to love and to do good deeds?
Life has a way of wearing out the saints
 But the Lord knew that would happen.
So He gave us each other.
Sometimes even in the toughest times, a smile or a timely word can lift a heavy heart.

Also a gentle reminder to trust while walking a difficult path, can help support our weak knees.

Discouragement will only last a short while.
 It only seems like a very long time...

I am always being refined;
Being in a furnace is very uncomfortable
(Anyone who has ever experienced a hot flash can mildly relate)

We learn when we submit or in some cases have a bit put into our mouths.

How will we be able to encourage another in any hard times,
If we have never been there?

We can see an error in our way at times;
But it is way easier to see the error in another life.

But can you really appreciate it when something of truth is being presented?
I find my own human nature to be rather of the stiff neck sort of group.

Well the point of this post is this;
Correction can be the very thing God will use to spur us on!
Because who wants to be travelling at a high speed in a wrong direction?

To Examine Oneself is a  good thing;
As God will search our hearts.
To provoke one another to good works;
Is by drawing near to God, ourselves, so we can be a blessed influence.

Finding truth is becoming a very rare jewel;
Are we living in the time of Apostasy?

True Christian assembling is for the worship of God,
and for mutual edification of His truth.

But we live in a world where truth is irrelevant;
If it's true to you then so goes the whole bus speeding down the hill.
To exhort one another, to exhort ourselves, to warn of sin and danger.
To watch over one another with the true gospel spirit;
This would be to me a real friendship with my fellow believer.

So, according to this scripture. If I really loved you
I would warn you of danger!

I think a speed bump is a good thing for those speeding buses filled
with people going in a wrong direction.
It gives them time to say let me off here...

So let us consider...

If you see someone living in sin, do we say anything?
Or we would rather mind our own business.
 And not say anything for fear we might offend!

I appreciate you all so much; we are all living out our days!
Blessings, Roxy

Feelings Of Being Lonely After You Become An Empty Nester...

Living From Glory To Glory Blog

Feeling Lonely

When I was a very young woman and mother and wife;
I really can not remember feeling lonely;

I do remember wondering if I would even be able to find 5 minutes to myself.

After my children were grown and left home;
I dare say I went into a terrible funk...

I felt my whole purpose in life had flown out the window.
Raising children really is a full time job,
as it least was for me...

No one ever told me or even warned me of how sad I would feel when
That season would be over how I might just feel!

I remember telling my sister how sad and lonely I felt;
Well, she told me this
This my dear is your reward...
To do and be and to create and read and craft and crochet,
And to bake and clean the house and it stays clean.
Laundry that only requires 2-3 loads a week!

Now, what I am saying is this was a healthy perception of this
Very lonely dilemma.

I spent many years remaking my days and outlook on life!

The purpose of this post is to all you wonderful and blessed mommies
is that this season will pass!
And it is very wise to keep ideas and thoughts in your heart
Some things you would like to do when you become an EMPTY HOME.

But, I also want to say make the time and the relationship with your HUSBAND
In the top priority NOW...

Yes, I have said in the past, I do get lonely especially in the evenings.
But also this is when I do feel a bit emotional and spent from a long day.

It seems that I always thought I would have more friends,
And all my family around me.
But they now have their own lives and some have moved far away.
So, I trust the Lord and I keep moving forward...

I miss many things, but I am still learning to take pleasure in the
small and comforting things I can do for myself and my dear hubby.
Keep your heart free from living to much in the past.
Keep your eyes on the eternal price.
Keep asking the Lord, where and what He wants you to do!
Keep your heart at HOME even if everyone has moved on!

I do wonder if it is maybe even harder for women who have worked
outside the home, during the time the children were living at home?

Also, I have had many friends that have gone back to work
 after their children were grown or just older.

I do hope someone will find a bit of encouragement from this post!

I do know I still enjoy the fellowship and yet everything now days
Does seem to be what others call squeeze it in...

Remember the word does tell us to leave in cleave
Honor the Father and thy Mother
Do not forsake the assembling together.

Everything changes according to His will in all our lives!

Sharing A Memory That Was Just Good Old Fashion Fun...

Living From Glory To Glory Blog

CLEAR SHALLOW WATER AND PURE WHITE SANDY BEACHES

Okay, I realize that we are now in November...

But I just had to share with you a wonderful experience I had this past summer!

I would not say that I have the need or desire to live on the edge.
I am more of the slow and lazy moving kind of gal.

But I guess I do have what I would call a very small list of things,
I have always wanted to do!
(I don't really care for the term called a Bucket List)

But this was something I really wanted to do!

So, My wonderful grown children made it happen;

We took a trip down a river on only inner tubes;
We did not use the canoe approach as this picture shows!
The water was very shallow as long as you stayed in the middle of the river.
And you moved at a steady clip as long as you stayed in the flow.
The water was super warm.

The name of the river had the name that just seemed a bit
un-lovely
The Black River

Wait, this is in the middle of a state known for its alligators...

What was I thinking?

This trip only takes 5 hours!

What!

I did pray that I would not hear any commotion along the river banks;
Such as a very hungry creature looking for a quick snack.

I did happen upon two old boys in a small boat;
And I asked them...
Hey, have you guys seen any alligators??
They merely shook their heads,
And one of them spoke up and said not a one today!
Gulp...
Pray harder

We had a ball and not even one little gator crashed our party!

I have always had this idea that;
I would like to try something new every year!

And this was something I will always remember!

We were a group of nine of us,
And I kid you not I was wearing a sun visor that said
LIFEGUARD

So every time our daughter and her sweet little one got stuck in
The Bayou, I had to swim in way over my head and pull her out and
Back into the middle of the flow,
 But she just would not stay with the pack!

I had to rescue her too many times to count...

I only capsized twice and I laughed till I cried!

I will not be wearing the LIFEGUARD visor again if you know what I mean!

What have you done that will be a wonderful memory to last your lifetime?

What Are The Ramifications Of Being Exposed To Fear...

What are the long term effects of being exposed to fear?

How early can a child being exposed to fear have symptoms of fear?

Is fear a spirit?

What are some of the things we can become afraid of?

Do people get addicted to fear?

What Are The Long Term Effects Of Being Exposed To Fear?
Some people never get over a fear they have experienced in their lives. It can come from just being in a cellar during a tornado when they were a child. And as soon as they see storm clouds forming they begin to feel the physical symptoms of being afraid and not safe.

It can be from hearing a terribly loud and unfamiliar noise during the night while babysitting alone.
So even as a grown woman you find it very hard and become fearful about being home alone.

So what I have heard and seen from many people fear, from their early childhood has been with them their whole adult lives.

We would hope we are helping our children feel safe in a world that is growing very un-safe.

How Early Can A Child Being Exposed To Fear Have Symptoms?
Even a baby will flinch their little bodies when we say boo and jump at them. Very small children that have seen a scary movie or even a scary costume have had nightmares right away and can last for them a very long time. Children cannot tell reality from play acting until much older.
Why do so many little ones want to sleep with their parents or a sibling if fear has not affected them?
Why do so many children have what they call Night Terrors while sleeping...
Many children become very afraid of the dark, even if it is normal power outages.
We had a friend that would say, I am not afraid of the dark, but rather what's in the dark!
Ask yourself, what really comes out at night??

Is Fear A Spirit?

Yes, I believe fear can be called a spirit, because it is so devastating and brings much pain and discomfort to ones heart and soul. And the scripture tells us that God's Word says, I have not given you a spirit of FEAR, but of power and love and a sound mind...
The devil only wants to kill, steal and destroy all people!

What Are Some Of The Things We Can Be Afraid Of?

Well, I am convinced people can become afraid of just about everything, but some fear exposure has been put upon them from pure ignorance and not protecting them in their early years of growing up.
One of the stupidest things I have heard is when a child is afraid, someone will tell them don't be afraid... Really, you think it is that easy? Fear is the toughest thing to overcome!
You can become afraid of any one of these things from just one bad experience!
Fire
Water
Storms
Being Alone
Being Lost
So, why would we knowingly expose our loved ones to something scary?

Can People Become Addicted To Fear?

Yes, fear is something our culture loves...
It produces a rush and brings feel good hormones, to someone that when they first tried something or read a horror book were terrified they now need it more scary and graphic.

How I Make My Fall Treat Mix...

My Fall Treat Mix

When fall comes around, I always like to make a special mix of sweet and salty treats.
I enjoy adding a cereal that has a maple flavor to it!

I know this may be not on your food list of things to eat, but it is only once a year!

I have always thought the memories that it comes with it is so worth it!
~I am sure you foodies out there will make a healthier version~

But, it makes me happy and brings a smile to my face...

You can really add anything you want into your own batch;
But sweet and salty is what I aim for in mine.

It really is convenient to make up a batch and store in a pretty glass jar!
I always make up a little bag of it and put it in my car for a snack.
You can add fruit or nuts, really whatever your heart desires.

Why are making memories so powerful to one's heart and sense's?
I have come to a stage in my life where I believe I can answer that very question.

Everything holds a memory;
That is why we must always take heed to make some good ones.
I am thankful that the good ones over power the ones that hinder or harm.

Do you know that even the sound of your voice portrays an emotion?
That is why our tone is so important!
Keep the bitterness out of our words;
As we may just have to eat them...

May our words be salty or sweet!

My Recipe For My Fall Mix

1 bag of pretzels
1 bag of goldfish crackers
1 box of Chocolate Grahams
1 small bag of chocolate M&M's
3 cups of Maple flavor cereal

Please share with me what you like to put into your Fall Mix!

Learn To Say No...

When I think about the season that smells of pumpkin and rich spices;
I feel a cozy sensation that we have now completed another portion.

Because of the strong and bright appearance that a pumpkin has,
We can see that time can bring forth a strong and lovely stature.

I can't help but think of the changes that happen in our lives.
We cannot stop the process of life that does bring about these changes.
These things will always be in the process of change.

We can all say remember when;

We would be bored to tears if nothing ever changed!

If the seasons did not change, we would miss the delights and the sorrows.
The summer brings long hot days and balmy nights.
The fall brings fruits and harvest of much hard work,
And the colors that are on display,
They twist and twirl and seem to be having the last dance, as if to say goodbye.
Winter can be harsh and can keep us close to home;
When the evening starts very early, we can embrace the longer evenings.
Then just when we feel like the never ending season of winter.
Then along comes spring once again to remind us;

God is still doing a good work within us!

But oh, we can take the time to be diligent in  how we live our days,
We also can take joy...

Dear Ones if you are feeling heavy laden;
Give it to God and learn to say no when a demand results in crushing your joy!

We are not suppose to say yes, to everything that comes our way;
Because we can actually start to feel a social justice to the world that we must accomplish!

This can become a false duty rather than a calling from God!

Why Our Wounded Pride Hurts Our Feelings...

Living From Glory To Glory Blog

His Grace Is Sufficient...

Dear Wounded Pride, Greetings from a wounded place
(My Heart)

My dear sisters in Christ;
May I come along side of you and speak this word?
Or maybe a reminder of his fellowship of his sufferings.

When I have experienced a word spoken to me that hurt my feelings,
 Or if I have spoken a word that hurt anothers feelings.
And this can even be a word of correction to us or we spoke to another.
This can become a feeling of being corrected or slighted, or totally ignored!

"A great crisis overshadows which test and tries my very soul."

Oh, My wounded PRIDE...

Then at once that sinking feeling hits the pit of my stomach.
I am being deflated by my wounded pride.

Why?

I am looking at myself and have taken my eyes off Jesus!

But wait there has got to be an easier way to die to self---

Or NOT!

Keep Your Eyes On Jesus
And give no room to the pride of this life...
Oh, and add no more fuel to the fire!

The tongue is a little member and boasts great things.
See how great a forest a little fire kindles!
And the tongue is a fire,
A world of iniquity.
The tongue is so set among our members that it defiles the whole body,
And sets on fire the course of nature;
And it is set on fire by hell.
James 3:5-6

Learning to trust the Lord and humble my heart before God and others!
I would rather be kind to another, then right in my own opinion!
"You can have your own opinion, you just don't share it"
Kindness is greater and easier then humble pie served alone.
We need one another, and these blows can cause great destruction!

Also, ask yourself this question...
Can I forgive those who have wounded me?
YES;
Seventy times seven...

May the law of kindness be upon our tongue's!
Proverbs 31:26
