Purple Rain and Praying...

Purple flowers and rain... Living from Glory to Glory Blog

I have been doing a lot of praying lately...
I find myself going about my days doing all the things that
Make our life flow smoothly!

I believe we are in training to keep our hearts and homes in peace!
By learning to pray is one thing;
To practice it is another!

We all need a drink of His Presence often,
We can learn to live each day in that place; as it will be required!

Something as powerful as keeping very close to the Lord;
Will help keep you healthy and not overburdened with the,
Cares of the world. We are all hearing the buzz about this and that!
We all know that we have a higher court and calling!

I am learning to not allow all the things that seem so important;
To the world rob me of my peace or calling!

Have you learned the fine art of taking every thought captive?

Do you find yourself suddenly catapulted into chaos?

I think more than ever we will need to keep our heads;
Be not overly excited over what you see and hear!

I heard a saying lately that do not fear!
~As the stage is being set~

What part will you play in all the drama?
Will history repeat it's poor choices again?

Living in such a way that peace flows from you even in a crisis;
Will be duly noted by those watching!

I remember the thought I had years ago was this
Even in troubled times, our men still get hungry!
Learn to take your eyes off the troubles, and sit with Him in the cool of the day.

Do you think that a flower would stop blooming just because;
Things were not going as planned?

I want to encourage all of you to not look at all the problems!
But rather pray and watch and doing what God has given you to do!

I will tell you all a little bit about my last few things going on here;

We cut down our huge tree in between our two homes the other day,
It was the hardest and scariest job I have ever had to do!
This tree was called our family tree and it just died this last winter!

I saw a woman walking today with her two children and she was using an
 Umbrella to keep the sun off of her!

I have kept busy and have spent less time on the computer!

How are each of you ladies doing?
Hope you have a wonderful week, filled with good things!

A Lovely Parosole...

Summer Sunshine

How the days just seem to fly by ever so quickly, I find that I must purpose in my heart;
To take pleasure even when the days are so hot and muggy.

I see so many that dress with very little clothing on;
But I have also seen those that work in the fields, that are covered from
Head to Toe with clothing!
I asked a woman once last year if she was super hot?
She told me that with having her arms and legs covered it allowed her to
Stay much cooler than having the sun beat down upon her bare arms and legs.

I found this photo of such lovely and pretty parosoles!
(A Parosole is just a pretty name for an umbrella)
I do not even think you could find these anymore.

Years ago all ladies carried these when going out and about!
Or you might even remember ladies that carried those little hand fans!

Also now days we all have A/C and Fans we plug into the wall.
I am so thankful for modern conveniences!!

I also still enjoy seeing a lovely straw hat on someone at the beach!
But also there is nothing more soothing or wonderful than a portion of the shade!
Having a shade tree is so pleasant to have in one's backyard.
Also, many years ago we sat on our front porches and we just enjoyed the breeze!

I find myself doing most household chores early, so in the very hottest part of
the day, I can rest and just be still and read for a bit!

I hope you are enjoying this very hot weather and learning to make the best of it!
As so many of us feel like we could even melt.

If you have ever hat heat stroke, I have heard you will always feel a greater
Sensitivity to the heat!

Do you feel a bit dried out?
Remember this heat can make you feel dehydrated quickly!

Remember to wear some sunscreen as a bad sunburn can ruin a whole vacation
So try to keep some handy!

Have you found yourself really busy this summer?
Or are you spending more time at home?

I will be reminding myself to plan a bit more carefully for upcoming dinners;
As with this hot weather we need some foods that are light a cool!

We always try to sit outside in the evenings if there is a breeze as then the
bugs that bite are not so bad! I always worry about all the sprays that have
the Deet in them, especially for children.

I hope you are all doing well and taking joy in these days of summer!

Where Are You In The Rising And Setting Of The Sun...

Living From Glory To Glory Blog

Sunshine

Everyday starts with the sun rising in the eastern sky,
It can be counted on to do it day after day.

Sunrise and Sunset...
What happens between the rising of the sun to its setting in the west
This is where we get to shine...

As we learn and grow as children that belong to an awesome Father;
We are starting to have some of His traits;
 Remember the soap opera called the guiding light?
Well, I can surely tell you by watching that program you will not look
More like your heavenly Father;
Because it would be the wrong light to follow!

{There are many lights in this world beckoning to us all}

Just because there is something giving off light does not mean;
It is of God!
We are warned that if even an angel preached another gospel
Do Not to follow it!

There are so many shades of gray that are telling us it is okay to do this
Or do that!!  Really??

Ask God and He will show you where the shadows are.
We are not left alone! As we have a heavenly Father that,
Loves his kids...

Do not follow someone who is not following in the steps of the only Father that
can bring light into total darkness!

Do you awake with the SON shining in your hearts?
Is there a song upon your lips?

I know the sun is setting...
Work while it is yet day!

I had an older Pastor friend tell me the other night
That a day would come when we would only be able to
Take care of our own households...
I want to know where this scripture is and how it may be written.
{ I loved the thought of it}
Do any of you know where it is in the Word?
I have not done any research as of yet:
Please share with me in the comments if this is a scripture you
are familiar with!

May we give all our burdens to the Lord and lay down and go to sleep!

~As we know He alone holds the setting sun in His hand~

Why We Must Take Care Of Our Teeth...

Having a Sweet Mouth...

Is your mouth filled with bad breath?

Seriously, I never thought I would have to write a post on brushing one's teeth!

But I really have had a burden to remind others of this very important
Hygiene habit.

Our mouths are to be a source of love and grace!
But when you neglect to take care of these amazing teeth,
You may suffer from many things!

You might have stinky breath,
If your loved one shy away from your kissing them...
I find it rather odd that we live in a tell it all society
And yet we will not bother to tell someone that their breath stinks!

For Pete's sake, you can get a new toothbrush from the Dollar Store.
Toothpaste and floss and mouthwash...

Come on Dear Ones, there is no excuse for bad breath;
And decay of one's teeth!
It is just pure and simple laziness once again.

I remember being at a Brownies meeting as a child and we had a
Person come in and tell us all how important it was to take care
Of our teeth...
Also in school, we had a dentist come in and show us how to properly brush them!
It does not require Rocket Science to do this!

Even if you have no dental insurance you can still have good oral hygiene.
Poverty is no excuse for allowing your teeth to fall out!
I think a person who has bad teeth can start even now to take care of them!
Please teach your children and grandchildren to brush their teeth!

Why are so many people letting their teeth just become rotten?
Is it just another sign of neglecting what is important?

If you want romance and some good kisses for goodness sakes
Brush your teeth...

Brush and Floss twice a day
To keep your mouth and teeth clean and healthy!

Please go to the store and buy all your loved ones a kit;
It should contain these items:
A Toothbrush
Toothpaste
Dental Floss
Mouth Rinse

So You Will Have These;
Fresh Breath
Pretty Mouth
Healthy Teeth

So there you have it...
Who wants to be around someone with stinky breath?

Good healthy teeth brings good dividends to one's relationships.
A healthy heart starts with healthy gums in your mouth.
Sweet Kisses

Take Care of Your Teeth!!

Smile...

My Sister And Dear Friend...

Do you ever just want to go back to just being a kid again...

I thought I hated it when my sister would tell me what to do,
But after many years of having to do everything myself,
I kind of miss having someone telling how to do something,
And when to do it   LOL

Are you the big sister or the little sister?
Or in my case I am the middle sister...

I have this sister that is the most positive person I know;
She is also very funny and always makes me laugh...

She also can be a bit bossy in the best way;
But deep down inside I always love her ideas and perceptions,
About life and family and matters of the heart...

I have enjoyed reading so many blogs that are about;
Finding joy
Baking lemon cakes and cookies
Being Content in your life
Organizing our Homes
Enjoying Summer
Even Book Reviews

Once again, I can see we all are wanting to find JOY
In the days we are living in...
They are all treasures!

Please take the time to tell those you love;
How much you appreciate them!!

My son has a little saying when things get tough;
"Can't we all just get along"

~Well, now that depends on do you want to be right or keep the peace~

I am laughing at the fact, after years of blogging, I still have not
Reached 200 followers...
Maybe that gadget just might need to disappear LOL
I really do not care about the number that are following;
It is just a sign of how we just feel stuck at times.

But we are learning to endure when even simple things seem tough!
I think I will sit and read this afternoon...
Read and maybe crochet a granny square.

The Word tells us not to be conformed to this world;
But rather to be transformed by the renewing of our minds!

Enjoy and take pleasure!
Everyday is a gift!
Dwell in the Possibilities!

How To Tell What Kind Of Man He Is...

Living From Glory To Glory Blog

I want to share with you a word of wisdom that was spoken to me;
Many years back, I had a wonderful Godly woman tell me this statement!

She told me this;
" There are only two kinds of men"

I asked her, what are they?

She told me this;

  Those that WORK
And
 Those that DON'T

So there you have it...

Some men will not provide for their families or homes!
Some will work and work and work to provide for them!

I am talking about being the one "MAN" to make and supply provisions for there
Families...

We have to help the younger ladies to know that some men will never
want to provide for them!
They are selfish and lazy and they want to stay home.
They may even require the women to go work outside the home;
Just so they can still eat and have a roof over their heads.

Always Sleeping and are Just Lazy

I understand that some men may not work because of a handicap or a real illness.
I am rather referring to a un-biblical demand that is being refused to take responsibility.

There is a scripture that says;
"If a man shall not work so he shall not eat"

Now this work is a work that looks different in so many ways;
Manuel Labor
Preacher
Teacher
Mechanical
Owning Their Own Business
Hitting the pavement actively looking for work...

We all have seen a family whose breadwinner lost his job through
Downsizing or a business closure.
I am not talking about that situation;

I am referring to a man who just always chooses to be lazy and not provide!
The word says he his worst then an infidel...

So my other point in this is that we as women have to be careful too
Not to complain when your husband has to work long hours!
We can find ourselves whining about the very thing
God commanded them to do...

As a matter of fact that is what they were created to do!
Work....

Work is what gives them self worth and strength!
It is what gives them grit and wisdom!

To provide for their families
Food
A Roof over Their heads
Physical Safety

"Beware Of the Men who have a love affair with the bottle"
Or with drugs of any kind.
The pull of strong drink has brought much pain and suffering to families!

Why do we think we can change a person,
Most women enable men to not provide by working themselves;
When both work it is a different situation.
Sometimes we enable by trying to help with the very thing that
They need to do to become healthy inside and out!

I believe it was a hard word to hear, but it may allow someone to see
A "Red Flag" before they marry...

If you have been blessed with a Man who does work hard for his family,
Tell him how much you appreciate all his hard work...

How To Stay Girded Up While In The Wilderness Of Life...

Living From Glory To Glory Blog

Living Our Days In Simplicity...

So many days are filled with hard things.
They may be little things in the grand scheme of things;
But they make you stop and you have to realign and gird up...

Why are we all having to gird up?
The Word speaks about this very thing.

I believe God is teaching us endurance to overcome!

Trials have a way of helping us to have a tough external reaction to
Trials and troubles.

Kind of like a horse or cow, they barely flinch when the
Flies and mosquitoes land on them to feast from their very hid...

And may I remind you this kind of girding up, does not make one insensitive!
But rather able to discern where to use its energy and strength.

Many longed to live the simple life, but we are always in training.
"To endure to the end"

You all know the diligence that is required to even grow a garden;
You know the strength required to keep a home running smoothly.
You know the importance of keeping your husband's heart filled and encouraged!

Why do these trials just keep on coming for so many, you may be asking?

Sometimes plain and simple it is the enemy of your soul,
Like Erckle use to say---- I am wearing you down Baby---

Or it is our Lord and Savior, training and teaching us in the wilderness;
Or on the backside of the mountain....

We are learning to be flexible and not falling apart when trouble comes knocking.

Sometimes you can answer the knock and see who it is and if it is the enemy
Close the door and tell him, I don't talk to snakes, go away in the name of Jesus.

If it is the sweet Lord Jesus, invite Him in and tell Him your every burden!
Wipe your tears away and begin to do what is required of you!

I choose this day to arise and let my enemies be scattered;
But I will study God's Word
 and I will dust my home and sweep the floors
 and encourage you all to do the same simple things!

We get into our heads and hearts we have to be doing huge things or projects;
But to do what is required of you is a powerful strength!

I choose to look for the simple combinations of things in my life and home.
Making a lovely space of a pretty old blue kettle and a lace tablecloth over an old oak chair
 and a clump of lavender can make a bright spot in any room.
 This is called working with what you have. And making all things lovely!

...I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep
that which I have committed unto him against that day.
2Timothy 1:12 KJV

If you will just quickly respond in trust and faith;
God will bring you to this place of peace;

Your response and attitude  determines how long you stay in the wilderness!

Do you know someone who is just very bitter?
But it is the very choice they have made,,,
There is a fruit that is being grown from your very response of life's wilderness
Experiences and Trials!
Responding well is how we grow and gird up according to God's pattern.

Are you going through a trial?
Well rejoice for you are in training to endure to the end...

How To Really Be In The Winners Circle....

Living From Glory To Glory Blog

~Lets, play ball, Lets all get in the game, it's not all about just winning~

Two Choices

What would you do? You make the choice.

At a fundraising dinner for a school that serves children with learning disabilities,
 The father of one of the students delivered a speech that would never be forgotten by
 All who attended
 After extolling the school and its Dedicated staff, he offered a question:

When not interfered with by outside influences,
 Everything in nature is done with perfection.

Yet my son, Shay, cannot learn things as other children do
 He cannot understand things as other children do.

Where is the natural order of things in my son?'

The audience was stilled by the query.

The father continued. 'I believe that when a child like Shay, who was mentally and physically disabled comes into the world, an opportunity to realize true human nature presents itself, and it comes in the way other people treat that child.

Then he told the following story:

Shay and I had walked past a park where some boys Shay knew were playing baseball. Shay asked, 'Do you think they'll let me play?' I knew that most of the boys would not want someone like Shay on their team, but as a father I also understood that if my son were allowed to play, it would give him a much-needed sense of belonging and some confidence to be accepted by others in spite of his handicaps.

I approached one of the boys on the field and asked (not expecting much) if Shay could play.
 The boy looked around for guidance and said,
 'We're losing by six runs and the game is in the eighth inning. I guess he can be on our team and we'll try to put him in to bat in the ninth inning..'

Shay struggled over to the team's bench and, with a broad smile, put on a team shirt..
 I watched with a small tear in my eye and warmth in my heart.
 The boys saw my joy at my son being accepted.

In the bottom of the eighth inning, Shay's team scored a few runs but was still behind by three.

At the top of the ninth inning,
Shay put on a glove and played in the right field.
 Even though no hits came his way, he was obviously ecstatic just to be in the game and on the field, grinning from ear to ear as I waved to him from the stands.

In the bottom of the ninth inning, Shay's team scored again.

Now, with two outs and the bases loaded, the potential winning run was on base and Shay was scheduled to be next at bat.

At this juncture, do they let Shay bat and give away their chance to win the game?

Surprisingly, Shay was given the bat. Everyone knew that a hit was all but impossible because Shay didn't even know how to hold the bat properly, much less connect with the ball.

However, as Shay stepped up to the plate,

 The pitcher, recognizing that the other team was putting winning aside for this moment in Shay's life, He moved in a few steps to lob the ball in softly so Shay could at least make contact.

The first pitch came and Shay swung clumsily and missed.

The pitcher again took a few steps forward to toss the ball softly towards Shay.

As the pitch came in, Shay swung at the ball and hit a slow ground ball right back to the pitcher.

The game would now be over.

The pitcher picked up the soft grounder and could have easily thrown the ball to the first baseman.

Shay would have been out and that would have been the end of the game.

Instead, the pitcher threw the ball right over the first baseman's head, out of reach of all team mates.

Everyone from the stands and both teams started yelling, 'Shay, run to first!

Run to first!'

Never in his life had Shay ever run that far, but he made it to first base.

He scampered down the baseline, wide-eyed and startled.

Everyone yelled, 'Run to second, run to second!'

Catching his breath, Shay awkwardly ran towards second,
 Gleaming and struggling to make it to the base.

By the time Shay rounded towards second base, the right fielder had the ball. The smallest guy on their team who now had his first chance to be the hero for his team.

He could have thrown the ball to the second-baseman for the tag, but he understood the pitcher's intentions so he, too, intentionally threw the ball high and far over the third-baseman's head.

Shay ran toward third base deliriously as the runners ahead of him circled the bases toward home.

All were screaming, 'Shay, Shay, Shay, all the Way Shay'

Shay reached third base because the opposing shortstop ran to help him by turning him in the direction of third base, and shouted, 'Run to third!

Shay, run to third!'

As Shay rounded third, the boys from both teams, and the spectators, were on their feet screaming, 'Shay, run home! Run home!'

Shay ran to home, stepped on the plate, and was cheered as the hero who hit the grand slam and won the game for his team

'That day', said the father softly with tears now rolling down his face, 'the boys from both teams helped bring a piece of true love and humanity into this world'.

Shay didn't make it to another summer.
 He died that winter, having never forgotten being the hero and making me so happy,
 And coming home and seeing his Mother tearfully embrace her little hero of the day!

We are all righting little stories that can bring an impact...
A long life is what we hope for, but a life filled with moments
Of real life situations that is what really changes us and the world we live in!

Do you care more about just winning?
Do you just care about always being right?

Sometimes, someone might just have that one day left;
Will we find ourselves helping them make it a good one?
You make the choice...
