Being A LightHouse Or A Sloth...

Working and doing the Job we were created to do! Living from Glory To glory Blog...

The Light House

There is just something about a visual that makes me inspires.
I think that is why we never grow tired of watching a baby sleep;
Or see the sun setting...

I look at this house that is right next to the light house;
And I can't help but imagine who lives and makes this place their home.

Are they happy?
Do they appreciate the beautiful view that surrounds them?
Do they give thanks to the Heavenly Father for His provisions?

Every Person has a job to do in every family!
Being mindful and working to keep them all running smooth.
As they say" all hands on deck"

When we are young we never stop to think that all the
Children will one day grow up and leave home.

And when they leave will they be able to run their own home;
one day? Will they be equipped to do all the things that are required?

Being a good parent is a bit like the lighthouse!
You help them to do what they were created to do!
Be the LIGHT

And you teach them to learn to see the dangers lurking below the waters.

When we become lazy and are not diligent in any arena;
We will see the lack!
The house is falling apart, the garden is overgrown!

The children do not know how to take care of their portion!

As a parent, we are to help our children to learn to control and maintain!
We must all learn to control and maintain!!!
Our emotions, and our desires.
Self-control

But we must also all learn to be diligent;
Hard Working
Completing each task at hand

I remember teaching my children about the "Sloth"
They never wanted to be so slow in anything that they would
Grow moss upon their backs (smiles)
~It was a good word picture for all of us~

Forest said= stupid is as stupid does
Let's not be stupid!
Work while it is yet day!
~All Work Brings Profit~

Do you want you or your children to be the Light House?
Or the Sloth...

But it is our job to help them become all they can become!

The Word Commands us to:
Train our children!
May we also desire to help teach our Grandchildren!

Yet, even in our old age, we need to continue to do what is right;
Within our own homes!!

~May You always look at what you need to do and take joy in it all~

A Stay At Home Grandmother ...

Grandchild Holding A Flower, Living From Glory To Glory Blog

What Are You Holding In Your Hand

Sometimes it is just the simple things in life that really give us a pop!
I find the everyday rituals and comforts give me a sense of peace.

Washing dishes or folding laundry does that for me now days.
It wasn't always like that;
I thought these things were mundane tasks till one day;
I realized that if I gave thanks while doing these same tasks,
I was transformed as so were the tasks.

I have also learned to do something for myself every day!
I may read or sew a little bit, I do a Bible study.
Make a special dessert, take a walk!
Call a friend!
Take some photos of something I think is lovely!

Just a special thing that is not on a To Do List...

I wanted to share this photo I took a while back and it was used for a magazine!
You can see it if you want if you click the link right under the picture.
That sweet little hand belongs to one of my grandsons.

Even as a Grandmother, I have had great rewards of being able to be
A Stay At Home Grand Mother...

What Does A Stay At Home Grandmother Get To Do?

We are available to be a big part of our grandchildren's life!

We can interact with them with more frequency.
We can tell them stories of our own childhood.
We can impart wisdom in small tidbits that can have a big impact!
We can help with things that they might need, if no one else is available.

Just being able to spend time with them!
So many Mothers are working now days, but if a Grandmother or Grandfather,
Can help and be there and engage in all different parts of their lives.

Helping them with school work
Teaching them how to do things (bake and cook and sew)
For the guys, (fishing, working on a car or truck,or sports)

Being and active and engaging Grand parent is a powerful gift!
For us and for the children...

See in every season we can be bearing fruit for our families!

What is one of your special things you get to do with your children
Or grandchildren?

Be The Best Grandparent You Can Be!!

Why Multi Generational Families Are Like Golden Roses...

Living From Glory To Glory Blog

Multi Generational Life

I have been giving this a lot of thought lately,
And it is about something that no longer carries much weight in today's
Society...

When I was a young mother I had hopes and dreams for our children;
It included many things. But it was a hearts desire to help them
build strong marriages and homes and children that were taught and trained!

But mostly loved and cherish...

I do think homes that equip their children to live successfully.
Tools of a trade or life skills.

But I think we have lost a valuable multi-generational family homes.
Grandparents were given the stature and love and position.
Wisdom came from this older generation!
And the younger parents gave the old ones a reason to carry on!
Maybe the wind in our sails after we had lived a long life.

Each generation is needed!

We can share the wisdom and the work and the bounty.
Our lack of multi-generational leaves so many elder forks sad and lonely.

We all need purpose and helping each other with days filled with so much to do!

Grandparent
Parents
Children

God wanted families to support each other
Emotionally
Physically
Spiritually

We have all so separated ourselves from our parents and children;
We all seem rather separate and many relationships have drifted apart.

What is lost from families living either on different continents or different states.

Holidays are spent apart.
Birthdays
Teachable moments are non existent
If  a burden arises we cannot be much help with it.

We all know that our children will grow up, as it should be!
I just think we never realized the impact of having them so far away.

Believe me, I know the assisted living places and nursing homes,
Are just filled with people that never thought they would be alone.

Many older folks even sell their homes and move to their retirement homes
Far, far away from all grown children and grandchildren.

We may be in any one of these stages on purpose or by a bad choice!

But I am just saying so many families do not stay together or get along!

So if you have the pleasure and blessing of having your children
 Or grandchildren, or even your parents close in proximity.

Look at it as a good thing and treasure it!

We need to learn to value multi- generations...

This Post Is written for all you women who have made your calling sure...

Why It Is Never Too Late To Start Homeschooling Your Children...

Living From Glory To Glory Blog...

It is never too late to start homeschooling your children...
It does not matter what their age is or grade level.

Homeschooling was the very best thing for our family!
We will always be so thankful for training our children with a curriculum that
was consistent with our value system.

We were able to give them a one on one approach!
Also to provide a tutor when needed for tougher subjects.
Also, we were able to enroll them in art classes!

They also had the chance to be involved with many field trips!

They were able to make friends that have lasted into adulthood.

We were blessed to see their growth and maturity levels blossom!
~Learning to learn is the greatest gift we were able to give our children~

When you have your children home, you are able to be quick in responding
To a need that they might have,
 And you will be better able to provide it quickly so they can move to the next level!

So many children just can fall between the cracks in the system.

Also, when a child has to be gone from their homes and family for such long hours,
They can become unattached and very withdrawn!

We have seen that children that our home schooled, have a stronger
Bond with their siblings and parents!

They also seem better rested and less stressed!

They also can interact with every age level;
Less peer pressure...
Less bullying...
Less homework...
(Because you do it during the day)

We have never regretted homeschooling our children!

We watched how God developed their ability to think and create and
Problem solved real life situations.
 They learned real life skills!

Also, we had more time each day to work and develop Godly character...
This was accomplished through prayer and Bible study!

We were able to see their hearts grow in compassion and wisdom!

Our children have a deep love for reading
and have learned :

The great art of being able to teach themselves
almost anything and everything they have wanted to do or explore.

Building, cooking, creating, running a business, being a Mother and Father!

Learning should never stop...

We have a whole generation that has never learned to think for themselves!

A mind is really a terrible thing to waste...

~ ~ ~

Just like coming home, homeschooling your children
has to be a calling and a conviction!

Ask the Lord if He just might be calling you to take your children Home!

I can do all things through Christ Jesus who strengthens me!

Pray for our children and grandchildren.

Train up a child in the way he should go!
And when he is old, he will not depart from it.

Proverbs 22:6

Why We Must Guide Our Homes And Being Mothers Who Fight The Good Fight...

Why My Mother's Love Inspired Me...

A force so strong, yet the world tells us it's just a glob;
Abort...
Abort this ball and chain you will never be free to do as you please.

I can't afford this now...
Pain and sorry surrounds so many pregnancies.

My Mother was placed in an orphanage as a young child,
She was adopted and I am sure it was not easy for her!

But one thing I can be assured of she was going to keep
Every baby that she had...

When we lay down our lives and work and stay strong to keep
our children close and safe it what real love looks like!

Don't be fooled by the words of someone that might tell you
~ I Love You~

Love is a verb and requires action...
Staying the course when all run away or strays from the narrow path.

Being a protective shelter from the elements of this world is so needed!

Laying down your life for your marriage
Laying down your life for children
Laying down your life for truth

Don't lay down like a doormat and allow others to walk all over you;
Rather, take up your mat and walk through the door of your home;
And begin to put things that may be out of order in its rightful place.

We are building a kingdom that will resemble a holy city
~A Holy City Set On A Hill~

Those women that have it really tough;
No husbands, no working skills,
Only a deep down abiding faith that she is worth something
~Not believing the lie that she would never amount to a hill of beans~

Do we as parents do everything right?
(Well, you know the answer to that--- NO)
But if you are doing the best you can do, God will honor that...

Dear Ones, if you are working and struggling to just get by too,
Take care of your children, I applaud you!
From the bottom of my heart...

Don't ever give up...
All the work and sacrifice is worth it!
I know this to be true---

I am here because she kept me and all my siblings
She even mourned those who were never allowed to come to full term.

Here is for June Brides
June Birthdays
June Love
June Flowers
And lastly June Bugs...

We are all just trying to work out all the Bugs in this journey called life.

Thanks For being a good Mother!

~Your Inheritance~

Where we give praise, others are honored!

When Is A Living Room Really Living...

Living from Glory to glory Blog

A Living Room

Looks clean and tidy and quiet...

See our Lazy Girl and Boy Chairs?

Nothing to do but rest and read a book at my leisure!
Well, at least most the time...

A Living Room is really only living when people are living in it!!
(Silly Goose)

This Christmas we were blessed to have all our grandchildren with us for the holidays!

And WOW did we have busy...
We had a monopoly game going on at a card table!
See the winner is the one smiling ;o)

We had the re- arranging of the mouse house and all the furniture!

We had Lincoln log cabins being built. And babies in the tub!

We had gun fights!
We had swords wielding...

We had Lego imagination!

They went on sled rides...

Cousins galore...

Connecting hearts...

Cousins to play with!!

Boys just enjoying a good Lego Movie...

My Sweet Treasures...

Relaxing with the new cousin...
She's a newbie to the family get together!
Not sure if she was ever not being held for eight days!

Our Son And Daughter;
God's Greatest Blessings
Our Children arise and call us blessed...
Thank you for our inheritance of our Grandchildren!

The Living Room is clean and tidy...
~But way to quiet and clean~

It Wasn't Me...

Living From Glory To Glory Blog...

It wasn't ME...

Look the evidence is as plain as the nose on your face!

Taking responsibility is a sign of maturity,
We all want to be right in all matters.
I want to enjoy the sweetness of life, but not by denying the truth!
We will be held in contempt of court, by wanting to give my side of the story!
Learning to listen with ears that truly hear...
Is He in the thunder?
He speaks in that still small voice

Being quiet and learning to listen will bring us to a place of great knowledge.

Egypt was a place of great visual sensations.
Babylon was a place of sin and living for oneself...

I like to think of the great story this time of year
New Years Day
As a reminder of crossing of the Jordan River...

We are all called to come over

Red Rover, Red Rover send Johnny on over!

Do you realize we have been given a new opportunity?

A New Thing;
The Lord will never do exactly the same thing a second time around.
He will do something better!
A New Thing
A New Way
This new year is filled with possibilities and the power to create and inspire!

Everything we need to overcome and adapt as we submit to God!

Cross over the Jordan...

Will this year be better or worse?
It will be both as we have seen as things get darker;
We my friends become brighter and showing more of His Glory!

What has been going on in my world;
We had all eight grandchildren here for over a week!
Sledding and wrestling with each other as cousins do!
I have the worst case of laryngitis ever!
(Grandchildren were glad that happened, as I was captive to listening to their stories)
I am thinking and inquiring of the Lord as to growing in His Grace and Image...
One of my dearest and best friends moved to Florida this last December!
I miss her terribly...
My computer during this holiday got a terrible Ad Choice downloaded on it
@#%&*+
It took over my entire Blog-----
I was wondering if I should just DELETE the whole Blog?
My wonderful son-in law was able to get it off for me!
My Hubby and I are barking like dogs with a very nasty cough!
We are so blessed to be given another year of 52 Sundays to worship!
365 Days to grow in Grace...

May I ask you, dear ones;
Does this Blog help you?
Is this something that brings you to a place of wanting to grow?
Is becoming a Woman of God a desire of your heart?

Clayton's Reunion And The News Clip...

Colorado Greenhorn Rescue, Survival in the wilderness,

Family Bond

We have many bonds in our lives with many people.
The strongest bond is one of a parent and a child;
And a child with a grandparent.
This is family!

But let us take notice of another family bond;
The Body of Christ;
Where your children, become important to us all!

Children and the Body of Christ is the realization that we
All have a heavenly Father who cares and has a plan for each of us!

God asks us this very question;
Are you not you're brother's keeper?

Our entire family wants to Thank each and every person that lifted up a prayer
That
Was given in our grandsons behalf.

No one found our grandson;
It was only God who led him from the forest.
We were told that this part of the forest is referred to as hell,
Because of its dark and dense conditions.
(REALLY)

The search party was not even looking in the right place on this mountain.
Only God knew where he truly was at every moment of every hour;
Of a 27 hour ordeal!

May we all stop nit picking on those we love; and realize that
most irritations are very small in the grand scheme of things!

Wisdom is not usually lofty and high.
But rather God's command to love one another;
As you love yourself!

Only a few brave ones will lay down their lives for others.
We do this in prayer for others!
We do this with actions by helping others!
Just giving a cup of cold water in His name will bring Him Glory!

Here is the TV news clip of his story!

Our Grandson Has Been Rescued...

We have witnessed a miracle and answered prayer!
Out Grandson has been found and he is healthy.
I do not know the whole story, but they allowed him to call me!

My heart is full of gratitude and my faith in God did not waver.
Scared and the longest 24 hours of my life.

Rescue workers and dogs and even a helicopter helped in the search!
I will forever be grateful for all your prayers and love you all
extended to myself and our family;
But mostly for praying for our grandson.

Will share more another time!

Video Butt Babies...

Living from Glory to Glory Blog

Video Butt Babies...

Remember Captain Kangaroo?
And Mr Greenjeans?

Okay, I have truly dated myself here!
If you do remember this program, I just need to ask one question.
 When they looked into the hand held mirror, did they
Ever see you watching the program and call out your name?

Well, I watched it often and no, not once did they ever see
A Roxy watching...
I tell you it was rigged!

Children...
Impressionable, fully trusting!
Always watching and absorbing!
Hearts open and tender...

Now there is nothing wrong with allowing a little teaching,
From Television programs or video games.

It is the full time sitting on your BUTT parenting going on that
 really shocks me and makes me so sad for the children!

Because, as they watch these types of learning programs,
they have no way to respond or use all their senses to engage.

And ALL Video games are causing some learning blocks for children.

We are built to watch, hear and respond!

The first thing most children do anymore once they awake
Is turn on the television!

Maybe we have gone to such an extreme measure of using
a television for education and free babysitter.

 We have lost the vision ourselves...

We must take time to instruct and train our children!

Watching television and video games will make your children
Cranky and listless and agitated!

We have a mind and body connection!

Too much of this kind of entertainment causes violence!!

I have noticed children younger and younger
 Having rounder and larger behinds!
Why are we seeing this;
They sit on their Butts all day long...
In school than at home!

Oh, don't worry, You're never home you say??

Have a smart phone (stupid phone)
No worries, you can play a game or watch anything you want
Anytime or anywhere...

Wake up!!
Read a BOOK...
Play outside...
Let a healthy imagination, develop their minds and gifts
Not video games and television.

Calling All Grand Mothers...

Good Golly
Where do the years go?

I had a lovely vacation to Florida and being with my children down there!
My days are in His hand...

Making time to impart love and truth in the next generation!
We have become too self absorbed into our self culture.
My Pastor's wife can be heard saying;
Family is everything!

Calling all Grandmothers to arise...
Let us work while it is yet day!

Speak life!
Create  lovely cards and notes to send to them!
Write down funny things they might say!
They will love to read them one day.
Find a day that works for a weekly chat with the grandchildren!

For the married couple;
Pray for their marriages!
Send them a gift card so they can go out on a date.
Be not easily offended;
Support and encourage them!

Here are my sweet Grandchildren in Florida.
We have another one on the way!!
So, I will be going back in August or Sept, when SHE is born :o)

Here is my Little
"Boots and Pants"
"Boots and Pants"

Here are my other sweet young men !
Got Goose???

These Boys are country through and through!

I am privileged to live right next door to these
" Little Men"

If your children are yet small you still one day will be a Grand Mother;
A calling worthy of God's Love and Grace!
Pray and inquire of the Lord (How to PRAY for each of them)
Ask the Lord, how to impact their lives for His Glory!

Being a good Parent or Grand Parent just doesn't happen...
It is by intentional living and speaking!

Calling All Grand Mothers...
Be a Grand Mother YOUR Grand Children will remember!
Love, Grammy

Destination...

I see this Snowman just standing along side the road carrying this sign!
So I pull over and he jumps in and say's
  Hello, Thanks for the ride!

I am shocked and I say; Well, I have never picked up a hitchhiker before!
Especially a snowman,
And I ask him
  Have you been standing on the road for very long?

He responses;
All winter long as soon as the first snow storm started!
People just will not stop to pick me up!
I just think so many people are really turned off by the cold...
But you can bet come August there going to be  be beee missing me!

Oh are you cold?
Would you like me to turn my heater up higher?
NOOOOOO!
I will never make it to my Destination if you do that!
So, I ask him (You don't like the cold either)?
NOOOOOO!
He says!!
So I tell him to look buddy, I am on my way to the airport!
I am flying south...
So as far as I can take you is there okay?
OOOOOKAY HEEE SAAAY'S!!!

Going to visit my daughter !!!
Can you guess where??

It Is Worth It...

It Is Worth It!!

It was a very cold and windy day; and I was getting out of my car in the
Grocery store parking lot. I saw her!
She was a Momma and she had her hands full!
I then realized it was her car parked right next to mine.
I just started to walk right past her, and I could just feel it.
Discouragement;
I turned right around and I said to her;
Sweetie, My kids are all grown up and I miss them so much!
I remember those days when I was so tired and weary, I thought
I was never going to make it!
But I want to tell you this!
It is all worth it...

I just smiled and told her to hang in there!

Well, when I came out I found this note on my windshield.
God has us in the right place at the right time!
May each and every one of us take the opportunities God gives us;
To
Love and encourage each Homemaker!
And to tell them this;
It is all worth it...

Go Go Grandma

Go Grandma Go!
Okay here is the story behind this post!
A little ways back I was feeling tired and just worn out.
So, as I did some research on a few things,
I decided I might need some more Raw Foods.
I was trying to find a way to incorporate this with
Maybe a drink option.

So these are the two products I started to use!

My oldest Grandson comes over and he is watching me
run around the house getting my morning housework
done, and getting things in order.

And he says to me
Grandma,
Where did you get all that energy?
I told Clayton what I was doing to give me energy.

And he suggested that we do a post on this Grandma!
As he thought it would be funny:)
So Clayton took the camera and started clicking the camera!
Taking pictures of me doing all my chores,
with my super duper
Energy drink in my hand!

 Making our bed!

Cleaning up the kitchen!

Dusting the living-room!

Ironing my skirts!

I think maybe I might  just need to mix up a large glass
Of my energy drink today!
Go Go Grandma!
All Photo's done by Clayton :)

Blessings,
Roxy
