~Remember the Old Fashion Churches~
They were painted white, and they always had a cross on them!
I have been to many Churches in my life,
I realize it's just the building.
"Because if you are a Christian and you live under,
Christs Lordship, YOU are the Church"
I think many Churches function under the sensationalism,
And the emotional atmosphere anymore.
Big Churches, Big Buisness
Big-Big
I still prefer a smaller congregation,
Sweet worship, with no lights and no smoke
And a large band and loud music!
Not knocking people who like the loud and large!
We are living in an era that just needs to grab your attention.
It could be because most attention spans is about the size
Of a pea now days. Everything flashes and feels like
Clickbait...
I have been thinking about the word "Reverence"
To quiet my heart and mind to hear the scriptures,
Being, read and expounded upon,
Expository preaching is the one way to truly grow!
It's not what does this scripture mean to you,
But how can you apply it to your life!
If scripture is alive, then it must be able to change you!
Quiet and sweet, yet filled with like-minded people.
Unity and fellowship that encourages you to run your race.
Why do most churches not encourage you to bring
A hand held Bible? One you can turn the pages,
And to underline a verse that is illuminated to you.
As the Holy Spirit teaches you!
Can we even find the different books of the Bible?
Some people love and need the loud and big and that's okay!
"Just give me that old time religion song"
It's not about the music for me, it's about the
Reading and studying the scriptures.
And keeping the hearts tender
Not allowing sin to go unchallenged
Seeing lives changed
Sweet Fellowship
Growing in Grace
Belonging to the body of Christ
Being quick to hear and slow to speak
Bearing fruit
"Where the Gospel is being preached...
And not just a Motivational speech!"
I think we have also just gotten out of the habit,
Of going to church and daily bible reading.
But encourage yourself in the Lord!
We are more than conquerors in Christ Jesus...
Plod On, never stop praying and reading the Holy Bible.
