I Don't Love Nobody

Sometimes we can be so selfish, in thinking we are the
Only ones with feelings.
We all have feelings and they do get hurt!
I believe our feelings can get hurt in many ways,
Such as when a word spoken causes hurt.
Sometimes it is an unkind look,
Or maybe no eye contact was given (ignored).
But mostly I think it is our words!
My husband has always said this saying:
"Maybe they are having a really bad day!"
We must extend grace, we are not perfect and all of us
Are under stress and we can become tired,
And just plain worn out.
We must not be like this selfish little girl!
The training of our tongues!
A careless word may kindle strife,
A cruel word may wreck a life,
A timely word may lessen stress,
A loving word may heal and bless.
He who guards his mouth preserves life.
Proverbs 13:3

A Labor Of Service

    A Labor Of Love
    He Loves us so Much.

    He humbled Himself.

    He washed their feet.

    He knelt and prayed.

    He laid down His life.

How many times a day have we all had to stoop over to tie a little one's shoe,
or pick up something that had fallen to the floor.
There was a day when we would kneel and pray.
Posture and body language speaks very loud and sends a message.
Never be so proud or un-willing to help at any level.
Let us be the one to volunteer with no complaining or griping.
Treasure these things in your heart;
Loving your wee ones for they will soon leave the nest.
Take joy in keeping your home.
Love your mate with your whole heart.
Give thanks with a grateful heart.
 Labor of love,
His love,

This Chair Is Just Right

This Chair is too small for both myself and my hubby!

This is  a close up shot of it,
the design and pattern of it was very tight and small.
Also the chair itself was tiny.

Here is the replacement!
It is much larger and of course it is covered
with leather. It is very large and roomy
and comfortable.

Here is the throw pillow that came with the couch,
I felt it was hard as a rock,
and much too large for this couch.

Can you see the new pillow, it is smaller and a very
vintage pattern. We did put three of them on the couch.

Here is my new cozy chair,
And it's just right!
I am so thankful for the amazing La-Z-boy company.
They were generous and took the first two chairs back.
Mind you these were special orders, and they did allow
us to return them.
I will tell you that once we returned the first chairs,
we had to choose some new ones.
Now, this is where I stepped back and let my hubby
take over. He had to sit in each chair to make sure it
was large enough for him to comfortably sit in it.
We are convinced the furniture out there is shrinking!
I am so blessed as we have always taken great care of our\furniture.
So we were able to bless others with a slightly used
and comfy older stuff.
I love being a homemaker!
This has been a season for painting and makeovers.

Romancing Your Husband...

Why we must romance our husbands!

This world  with all its' hard situations is taking a toll on us individually,
But it can be seen in our marriages also.

Life has a way of making us feel distracted,
Our senses are on overload.

We can start to feel disconnected and  even desensitized.

So as we all know, we have been given a gift as women
To be used to help our husbands to feel loved.
And appreciated.

So, take the challenge ladies;
Romance YOUR husband!

Take pleasure yourselves in being His, wife and friend and love.
Of being:
The wife of his youth!

At times I must give myself a good talking to.
I do NOT want anything or anyone to
Take my place in showing interest to my Husband!

So make a decision!!!
Be consistent!!!
Give him your full attention!!!

Getting Out Of The Box And A Yellow Cake Recipe...

Living From Glory To Glory Blog

Making a yellow cake mix from scratch.
The goal is to find one that will produce,
a moist and semi-light texture.
Not a puffed air texture like you get from a box mix.

Living From Glory To Glory Blog

I baked this cake in two 9inch round pans.
It was nice that it was not in my usual 9x13 pan size.

This cake baked up very moist and hardy.
It tasted like a shortbread cookie.
I used a basic buttercream frosting for this yellow cake.
It is nice to make a cake from scratch because you know
Exactly what has gone into it!

Here is the link for this cake;

 Dust and Drought!

This is what it looks like almost every day for the
last couple of weeks.

Breathing has become a serious matter around these parts.

This is just the way it was during the many years of the Dust Bowl!
God have mercy on us!
We need your prayers!
(Please pray for rain for us)

A Virtuous Woman...

Living From Glory to Glory Blog
A rare treasure is found in a woman of
Godly character.
"Who can find a virtuous woman?"
Proverbs 31:10
I desire to tap into all the grace of God's
Power and the spirits leading
and a resolve to be all that
God wants me to be.
As we look into the heights of His standards,
we can become overwhelmed.
Yet He tells us in His word.
precept upon precept,
line upon line.
We can do this because it's all in
His strength anyway!
Each day we are given, we have
His New Life flowing in us.
Let's not down play these virtues.
These are not old fashioned,
or impossible.
But rather attainable.
Always progressing
Always becoming stronger.
His character being formed in you.

Why We Need To Be Pantry Prepared...

Living From Glory To Glory Blog

Fresh Eggs

 Fresh Spices

This could be the time we had better stop relying on fast food and
pre-packaged food items to feed our families.

I have been very concerned about the state of affairs on every front.
But as a woman of God, I do not fear.
But, after saying this I also must say many families
could have much more hardship.
Just because Momma doesn't know how to really cook
and prepare meals from scratch.

Many people have had it so easy to just eat what they buy each night.
In most homes we are no longer
preparing nutritious soups, or serve home cooked meals.

Most baked goods are bought from the store.
No freshly baked cookies made from scratch, even
the dough comes in a roll now.

This is my concern!
If we were to have a real crisis in this country,
would you be able to feed your family with
only uncooked and raw items?
Like dried beans not cooked for you?
What if you had no soups all made up in a can?
No jelly in a jar!
No bread all baked up and sliced.
Could you feed your family?
I will say this; we must get in a better prepared state,
for our families.
I believe if you will put forth the effort God will help you
accomplish this task.

For it is the woman's mandate to be the keeper of her home.
But I am all for the help of all who live in our homes.
Take stock of what you know about cooking;
Make time to learn what you do not know!
Start putting staples back now, before the prices get much higher.
A List Of Staples:
Flour, Sugar, Powder and canned milk,
Shortening and lard,
(Don't freak out, I do not normally use these
ingredients, but these foods will be a must if things collapse)!
Vegetable oil
Beef and Chicken bouillon
Salt, vinegar,
Baking soda, and baking powder, yeast.
All kinds of pasta
Dried beans!!
Tuna, canned vegetables and fruit.
Be wise and really pray about this,
As I believe that our families are counting on us!

Keeping Homemade Cookies Fresh In Your Freezer...

Living From Glory To Glory Blog

Yummy homemade cookies!!
I remember years ago when I made cookies for my family,
We would eat them up so fast. I never worried about them
getting hard or old.
Because our kids are grown and gone.
We do not eat them up as fast as we did years ago.
These cookies here are made with organic butter,
 (It was on sale!)
used this wonderful flour you can see in the picture above.

Here they are, all baked golden brown.
Fresh from the oven!
Here is how I keep them fresh for a long time.

I first put a layer of wax paper on the bottom of these round tins.
Then I place the cooled off cookies in each one.
Cover them again on top with wax paper.
Place these tins in the freezer.
They will stay fresh for weeks!

I just take a few out and put them on a plate
and in just a few minutes we have a very soft
and fresh tasting cookie.

I have used this secret with every kind of cookie,
and I have had great results.

Sometimes when I am in a baking mood,
I will bake up an extra tin or two, of cookies.
So I always have a fresh cookie to serve!
It is nice to be able to serve a homemade cookie
with  pot of tea or coffee.

So come on over and let's eat cookies!

Riding The Fence...

Living From Glory to Glory Blog

Riding the fence can be a very dangerous and uncomfortable place to be!

We are called to walk circumspectly.
What does that mean?
It means  with caution and discreetly

There are so many different agendas being implemented in
every arena in our lives.
I read a statement lately that said should not get our
Theology from blogs. Or in my opinion from television
Or all the many different books that have a false belief system.
A wise statement!
We must go deeper and seek out the truth, of these different agendas
 Ask yourself what are the,
foundational core beliefs that are promoting so
many of these new and old agendas?
The word tells us to be convinced in your own mind!
But truth must line up with the scriptures.
Being diligent in our studies and inquiring about
programs and movements.
I believe riding the fence for a long time will leave you
Vulnerable to many lies and deceptions.
We are called to live in open spaces!
We must be discreet , but we are not ashamed of
Living, whole and set apart from these agendas.
Do not do it just because everyone else is!
Remember your Mother always saying;
If your friends would jump off a cliff,
would you follow?)
We do not want to walk in the wilderness.
Aim for the promise land.

Beauty Treatments

Beauty Secret, Living From Glory To Glory Blog...

Each of us will look at ourselves in a mirror today!
Even if it's just a reflection of yourself in your computer screen.
I know the saying goes beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
But I can say I have asked the Lord for a good hair day, or please let this zit disappear!
Lord, show me what to wear!
One or two or three places in the Bible talks about beauty,
(Hey its big business).
But is it really all just vanity and beauty is fleeting?
I want to say a word to all those beautiful women out there,
God has made everything beautiful in His time.
My number one beauty trick,
Smile More!!

The Lord loves a kind hearted women, and when your words sound sweet and gentle you become more beautiful.

Now about wrinkles!! They really our just proof that we are alive and have lived and laughed!
So Smile Jesus loves You!

Our Living Room

Here are a few photos of our living room.

We have had this burgundy leather couch for years.
I never really enjoyed sitting on it,
as it feels kinda stiff to me.
So we have bought a new one,
which will be covered in a fabric material this time.
We also purchased two new recliners, from La-Z-Boy.
Of course mine will be a Lazy Girl!
I am waiting for the delivery of our new furniture.
Then I will get busy with Spring cleaning in this room.

The Days End

 Colorado Sunset
I  am always so amazed at our sunsets here!

In my profile I mentioned on how I live in the prairie.
It is a landscape and a place not easy to make your peace with.
The land is free and can be brutal at times.
The weather and wind can change in minutes.
I have seen almost hurricane winds beat our land and home unmercifully.
We know first hand what wind and dirt can produce.
My heart has always been touched for those who endured
And lived during the dust bowl.
As this all happened at the same time as the
Great Depression.
It must have seemed to those who were in the center of these two forces,
As if the world was coming to an end.
I believe that we are put in the exact place where the Father
wants us to live and overcome.
It does not matter where you live!
Of all places have their unique and challenging situations.
But also each carries a treasure of God's creation and

profound peak of splendor.
And it is the sunsets here in my prairie that keeps me

Centered in His hand.

This Is The Day

This is the day that the Lord has made,
And oh how I will rejoice!!

As I awoke this morning and saw the sun coming up,
I realized He had made this day for me!
As I think in my heart so will my treasure be.
Every day there are different challenges but the Lord says in His word.
It is I who make your feet like a deer.
I enable you to walk and not stand in terror.
(Trouble, suffering, or responsibility)
Walk in Him and you will make spiritual progress upon my high places.
 Habakkuk 3:19
Remember, You are royalty in His kingdom. He says come come and dine with me.
Though the fig tree may not blossom No fruit be on the vines:
Through the labor of the olive may fail, and the fields yield no food:
Though the flock be cut off from the fold,
And there be no herd in the stalls-Yet I will rejoice in the Lord,
I will joy in the God of my salvation.
The Lord God is my strength:
He will make my feet like deer's feet. And He will make me walk on His high places.
