Making Memories
One thing I have been keenly aware of is what your mind
can remember from days gone by!
Many days have come and gone, but there may be a little
moment that was just imprinted upon your heart.
And this can be drawn out by a song you hear on the radio.
Or an aroma that reminds you of a special occasion.
I have found as I have gotten older, I have recalled memories
of my childhood that I have never remembered before.
But, just maybe we can learn to savor a moment and tuck away
A memory that will last for all of our days!
Is there some special trick in collecting these memories?
Maybe not, but just taking a breath and soaking in
the sunshine on your face or holding a moment close
to your heart and ask God to help you capture and remember
the day or the one thing that made you happy.
My new hobby will be collecting happy memories...
Blessings, Roxy
Memories ~ I have so many wonderful ones, and sometimes because I had a loving family and a good childhood, there are those whose memories are dark and sad. One of the things I believe mother's are designed to do is create good memories. In my reading in Proverbs, it stuck me that Fathers are to instruct with "words" Over and over it says LISTEN my son. But a mother's role is "teaching". That is a 24/7 role. From the breast to their death...mothers are teaching by example and prayer. Don't you just love Proverbs. So practical. Well, I didn't me to preach.....haha. Just on my heart this morning as I pray for all my children and grandchildren.
ReplyDeleteI don't remember a lot from my childhood, just that it was generally happy and we spent a LOT of it at church. We joked that if the doors were unlocked, our family was there.
ReplyDeleteI have wonderful memories with my husband of almost 47 years though. How God blessed me the day I met him in Sunday School so many years ago.
Blessings and hugs,
Betsy
