Even a pumpkin can produce more of his kind (if nonGMO)

Pulp that produces luscious bread or muffins.

Seeds to enjoy and snack on.

Fruitful life!

OK mind my own business (Not)

Why would anyone take a wonderful beautiful pumpkin,

and carve it into a face or design.

What lies behind this ritual every October 31st?

Google it my dear Watson!

I know I will hide my identity.

I will dress-up and Who will not recognize me?

Evil and scary is the new cool

The spirit behind this is not just fun, but rather fear.

Also, I believe it gives way to more of an interest in occult practices.

Everyone does it!

I have prayed about putting this post up and I felt a huge opposition!

The Word Of God says to stay away  from even the appearance of evil.

I will trick you if you don't treat me.

Harvest should be the time of the pondering of the fruits of the spirit.

Not witches and devils and bats and cats and ghost.

Come on people!

We are called to be separate from the world, not join in to all their occult interest.

jack-o'-lantern= The carved pumpkin may have originated with the witches' use of a skull with a candle in it to light the way to coven meetings.

(probably a good witch)

All Wrapped Up...

Christmas Spirit

Jesus came to us wrapped in a swaddling cloth.
  He was laid in a manger which is a food trough.
He came to be our bread, our living substance.
  He was born in a town called Bethlehem, which means bread.

He was wrapped and presented to the world as a gift to us from God!

Now what is all this reference to wrapping mean?

I believe He was wrapped up for us so we could be free from
 all this stuff that keeps us all tied up inside and out.

He was wrapped in burial cloths after He died for our sins.

Yet even the grave clothes or tomb could not keep Him wrapped up.

We can either allow this world to tie us up or we can say no.

He came wrapped in our behalf.

We also have a gift we can give out wherever we go it is His light that is within us, as we live and have our being in Him we can be a light wherever we go...

Giving Thanks...Always

 THANKSGIVING...

May we all stop and give thanks to the Lord for His many blessings!

This is one of the sweetest privileges as we have a time to truly count and ponder our blessings!
 And then to give thanks for them daily!

This is an old picture I found at a garage sale many years ago.
What a sweet little girl praying to her Father in Heaven...
 It has been one of my very favorites for years.
 This photo of it that I took looks as if the glory of God is upon it!
 The Lord has told us that as we draw close to Him, he will draw close to us.
 That is a promise that I take to heart every day.

Secret Place...

I find myself looking out on the horizon and wondering what will this new season bring?

Like a boy who climbs a tree, I look up to ask the Lord what do you have for me?

I love and long for His sweet presence, taking the time to just watch as the world hurries by.

Wait, I say wait, for I am not in a hurry. I want the tithe of your day. Come and sit with Me for awhile.

Will you respond with yes Lord, I want to be with you and stay in this secret place with just

You.

It is a funny mixed feeling as the days are shorter and the nights turn cool. A time to make a cozy yummy dinner and read and just relax. I trust many of you are making the Fall adjustments also. Let me just encourage you to press into His Love and His Word.

He hides us in the cleft of the rock...
Keep looking upon the horizon...
Keep asking the Lord, What do you have for me...

A New Thing...

I want to wish all of you a very Happy spring season, and may the sun shine upon your face! And remember to keep your eye's upon the Son. It is time to be refreshed and to look with great expectation to a new season, which holds the promise of a new thing.

Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the desert and streams in the wasteland.
