Why Friendships Matter...

Why Friendships Matter!

One of the tactics of the enemy is to isolate us.
When we spend too much time alone and forsake the fellowshipping
Of our Sister's in Christ!

We are all given gifts so we can build and encourage one another.
We are even called to mentor and train the younger women.
And as we get older and have taken great care of our friends,
We will have a bond we will have into eternity.

Just having someone to take an interest in areas of our lives,
Help us to grow and mature.
I truly believe we can grow in our walks in Christ, through
Interaction of sweet friendships.

We are warned to not befriend the world;
But we are called to be our Brother's keeper!
(Sister's also)

Be wise as to the friends you choose Dear Ones!

I have always given this bit of advice to women;
When you  make a new friend, only share a wee bit of your heart.
Then you can watch and see her character, as how and what
She will do with it!

We need sweet friendships from the Lord.
I would rather have a few dear trusted sister's in Christ,
Then a room full of people who knew not my heart!

Honor the Women God has given you!
Do not take them for granted,
For they are treasures from the Father.

I believe Christ will ask us;
How well did you love others?

  1. How true this is Roxy...:) I would rather have a few true friends than a room full who really don't know me and my heart. You have to be able to trust your friends too or they really aren't friends. Thanks for sharing this sweet message. I truly value my real life and in blog land.
    Blessings my friend,

  2. Roxy - You are so right with this post. I would rather have ONE good friend than 100 acquaintances. What a blessing a true friend is. This is a wonderful post- xo Diana

  3. I don't have many friends but those I do have I really value. These are the friends that will always be there when times get tough. Only the other day my friend Kathie rang me after hearing about my son's struggles and her first comment was "what can I do to help". I said "be someone I can talk to". That is a true friend.

  5. Yes; such good advice Rox. I am so glad I have a good and very special friend… wish she didn't live an hour from me, but I am glad we at least live in the same town :0 ) Have a great day. We are heading back today. I will give you a call tomorrow (unless we stay the night half way… we'll see). Love ya and miss ya.

  6. One true friend means more to me than having 10, 20, or even 100 "so-called" friends. I must admit that since I was a teenager I have always been reserved; I don't open my heart up to just anyone. Your post was a good reminder for me to be a good friend and to be there for my dear Sister's in Christ. Thank you for the wisdom, Roxy. You are a precious friend :) Much love!

  7. I agree with you Roxy.mas a preachers wife I have experienced people who are not in the church trying to befriend me and get me to reveal everything on my heart. Later they create damaging reports out of the tiniest things that were not anything g bad to begin with. Also we have to be wary of false friends. Critical people who run you down but pretend to be your friend. They may convince you that you are too sensitive or conceited or something like thst, in order to get you to tolerate their mean spirited friendships real friends are like minded and they know the courtesies of friendship.

  8. Great points, Roxi.
    We need to fellowship, but also choose wisely. Thanks for sharing:-)
    Blessings :-)

  9. Hi Roxy! Wow, we really did connect over the friendship theme this week, didn't we? I love the way you ask us to 'honor' our friends, and they are definite gifts from God.

    Thank you for your comments on my new blog. I just thought today that I should check my spam folder. There were your comments! I fished them right out, so now I'll always get them in my inbox. Phew! I want to stay connected for sure :)
    Blessings! Ceil

  11. Hi Roxy,
    I enjoyed your post on friendship. I have been blessed with some dear friends that have stuck closer than a brother throughout many years and over great distances. As a matter of fact, my best friend just sent me that cute clip you have at the top of your post.
    A good friend is important and to be cherished. As we make new friends, too, we need to honor them like you said. That builds friendship.
    Hope you'll visit me at my new internet site Would love to see you there.
    Blessings, Janis

  14. What a timely post, Roxy :) You put this post into action last night when you called. Thank you SO MUCH for simply being there for me during this difficult time. I can't tell you how much I enjoyed your phone call...I went to bed feeling at peace and calm. You are a dear and I am ever so thankful to know you. I told my husband last night that we should try and make a trip down there sometime soon. I would love to see you again! Maybe we should come help with some repairs on your home *grins* Wouldn't that be fun!?

    Thanks for linking up with Roses of Inspiration. Do you like the time better? Hugs to you!
