Husbands Love To Have Their Wives Pamper Them...

Don't Worry, He's A Big Boy He Can Take Care Of Himself...

Really, when I hear that from married women,
Or those who are engaged, it bothers me!

Having a desire for wanting to do things for your husband,
is very attractive to them!
They love to have their wives pamper them!

I am not talking about being their slaves;
But rather a helpmate...

Men enjoy having a nice meal prepared for them!
They enjoy having clean laundry!
They enjoy having someone wait on them after a long day or night working.

Look, my husband is perfectly capable to do most everything,
And that is my point...
I want him to want and need my help,
It is not like a child that is learning to take care of one's self,
I believe we take all the joy and the need out of taking care of them,
By simply expecting them to do everything for themselves!

This applies to stay at home wives;
And it applies to those who work outside the home!!

I will tell you this, as I have been taking the initiative to help
My husband all my married years, he in return helps me.

He knows when we are in the thick of something he will pitch
right in and help get it done.

He knows I have made him my first person in my priority list in my life!

I see being a helper requires a bit of imagination,
As he can have a secretary or a crew under him;
But he has you as his wife...
What can you do just for him that makes his life better??

You already know what you want or need to make your life better;
So give this some thought!
And please do not say that phrase
"Oh, He's a big boy he can take care of himself"

Yes, I am sure he is and you would feel pretty sad if he did not prefer
your help or input, but rather someone else.

It is even wise to train your children to show their Dad, love and honor!

We live in a "ME" culture, and it has overflowed into
Marriage and the helper portion of "I DO"

A Good Marriage Is Really Very Special And Sweet...
And It Is Not Made In Heaven;
But, Rather Worked Out Here On Earth!

  1. Great post,Roxy. We are to be helpers to each other and the blessings in return are great! We all need love and attention,it keeps us close to each other and improves our relationship.

  2. This is so true! Wives need to focus on the YOU not the ME.
    That's how you stay a WE.

  3. What a beautiful blog!!! And how right you grandmother always said that marriage is something that needs to be worked on everyday and especially when children come around.

    My husband is retired now and since I am back in school, he does take care most of the daily household things. I will be adding you to my reading list---I can't promise everyday once the semester starts back--but I will be back. Thanks for visiting me. Blessings

  4. Hello! So nice to meet you!
    I am so happy you visited my little space, as it led me back to you.
    I will add you to my Dashboard and will be visiting often.
    Have a cozy evening. : )

  5. Love, love, this post!! It just makes me cringe when I hear that statement or hear wives talking about their husbands to others. I love doing little things for my husband and taking care of him. I love that he can't wait to get home at the end of the day. Feel so sorry for wives who think it's a chore to take care of their husbands. God has created us to be a helpmate, what a blessing it is when we follow God's commands.

  6. This is very beautiful.Love it!

  7. What you said is so very true, Roxy. My late beloved always appreciated a great meal, and all the things that I did for him. I so appreciated all his hard work, and also how he liked to help me as a sous chef in the kitchen. He loved filling up containers that I was running low in...flour, sugar, peppercorns, etc. Oh how I miss those helping hands, but one day I'll see them and him again!

  8. Hello there! Great, great post!
    It's an honor to be my hubbys help mate and I take pride in helping him and pampering him! After all, I'm blessed with the privilege to stay home, so he should feel blessed to come home to a loving atmosphere!
    Have a delightful evening!
    Hugs, Amy

  9. Thank you for visiting my blog today and for your advice with the wood stove. I enjoyed this post of yours today. I agree whole-heartedly with what you have written. I am so privileged to care for my husband. He has an office full of people to help him at work, but I am the only person who can take care of him at home...and I love it!

  10. Hi Roxy, such a great post. I love to wait on my hubby and do all the little things that I know make him feel comfort and joy in our home. A good meal, clean clothes, clean home and a pretty surrounding. Together we are a team and he does nice helpful things for me as well.
    I am so thankful and what better way to show God our appreciation for the gift of a wonderful hubby then to make him happy and put him first. Blessings, xo

  11. Sweet post Roxy! I agree, doing little acts of kindness expresses your love and makes you appreciate each other so much more!

  12. Great teaching, Roxy! Also, a reminder that your children should not be prioritized above your husband. Most women I hear say that their husbands can take care of themselves use their children as the excuse.

  13. Great post, Roxy!
    Saying I love you isn't enough. Your love language "in doing" speaks volumes! You are right about someone else taking care of your husbands would be a sad day if that were to happen. My husband would be quite a catch for someone else! He's thoughtful and kind, and goes above and beyond what I could ever ask of him! God has blessed me with my husband. I don't feel like I HAVE to be a help-mate...I WANT to be!!
    Your posts are such a great example for us, Roxy...and always a good reminder of where we should keep our focus.
    Love you.

  14. Such a fabulous post, my friend, and oh so true. I find great joy in "pampering" my husband.

    Thank you so much for sharing this imporant message at Roses of Inspiration. Love to you!

  15. Me ha encantado tu post, ha sido todo un regalo mirar tu bloc. Te invito a visitar el mío. "La vida es aquella que te va sucediendo mientras te empeñas en hacer otros planes". John Lennon.

  16. Nice post! In this culture it is so common, even among Christian women, to be incredibly self-centered and seeing a kindness as a relinquishing of power. It's ridiculous. The kindnesses go a long way. Another thing that I see lacking in couples is a woman showing her husband respect. I think men want and need verbal appreciation and respect. Although we shouldn't go into it just to see what we can get out of it, that attitude toward our husbands does so much to build a good and loving relationship.

  17. This is a beautiful message Roxy, and a blessing to every home where it is embraced! What a joy it is to love my husband, and we both love to do things for each other, and help each other out.. it is not a chore, but a blessing! It does make me sad to hear women who say such things about their husbands too, and I pray one of those women hear your message, and the Lord touches their hearts! I know I always appreciate the wonderful encouraging messages you share here! :) Have a blessed day! :)

  18. I am thankful for all my husband does for our family and I know how appreciative he is of everything I do for our family.

  19. What a wonderful post, dearest Roxy, yours are always blessed words !
    I wish you a most beautiful remainder of your week,
    thinking of you with love and gratitude

  20. Thank you for the encouragement to do what we are called to as wives....what a blessing to belong to the Lord! How good He is to give us instruction in His Word for all areas of life. It's a beautiful thing to do things His way. Hugs to you! Camille
