Ordinary Task In Ordinary Days...

Do You find yourself daydreaming?

Well, wake up sunshine!
Hopefully you're living your dream...

Ever notice that what you thought it would be like is not anything;
like it at all?

Well, according to my calculations, every time
"I thought I thought  it out"
It always was a wee bit different then I imagined.

And oh, everything is subject to change,
NOT CHANCE
But, His divine providence!

Do Mondays always get you down?

Well knock it off honey cause Mondays are the beginning
of a Homemakers week!

How many loads of laundry have you done so far today!
Let me guess, Hmmmm
How many children do you have?

You get the point/////

Remember on Sunday you resolved to worship;
Well, Mondays you need to resolve also to schedule your week.

One thing that always helps me is that we only have one day,
At a time to manage. And if we manage today well, tomorrow.
Will go smoother!

Cleaning and scrubbing and folding laundry can be a form of worship.
It is in the ordinary days and the ordinary task that bring
 "Glory To God"

We are called to clean and refresh and tidy our hearts our lives
And our homes...

(Take this time to prepare)

Being prepared for what your family needs!

Take joy and pleasure in this day!

Remember faithfulness in little things is a big thing!

Spiritual progress can be stopped by grumbling and questioning

Make a plan, be flexible, smile!
Don't take things too seriously, so when something serious does happen
You can be calm and slide right down whatever obstacle is put in your path!

There's No Place Like Home...

Living from Glory to Glory Blog

Home is where the heart is....
On a lighter note from my last blog post,
What are some of those most special moments of your childhood?

I can remember watching the movie,
Wizard Of Oz
The movie did frighten me as a child!
And I still do not care to watch it as an adult.
But I did love the end of the movie...
Where Dorthy just clicked her shoes three times and said aloud
There is no place like HOME...

We are all so blessed to have a place where we feel safe and
have a family to love and cherish!
Making memories and learning together;
and growing and grace.
I do not want to be critical or judgmental in my writings!

My heart wants to encourage women in their walk and journey!
But I do not want to write to a generic audience.
But rather homemakers and like minded sisters in Christ!
(NO MATTER WHAT THEY WEAR)

I ask for your understanding as I grow and learn to be an example,
to others who are looking to grow into Godly women!
There is a pendulum that can swing too hard in both directions!

Grace and Growth for all of us!

Women Wearing Pants Everywhere...

 Ladies.

Now, I am not trying to be contentious about this pants matter!
We may all want to cover up our behinds as we do show too
much backside!

This was just an observation, from my point of view.
(The Rear)

I guess this is the very first time I really stopped to notice how a woman
wearing pants, may look like they could be
 just showing too much to others!

I have stated before, I will wear slacks occasionally.
My point here was this
These are occasions where a lady might wear something more Lady like.
A Church function!
(Special Occasions)
These might be considered to be an appropriate time too
wear a skirt or a dress!
(In My Opinion)

We can be so vain or more, focused on comfort that we can
forget about dressing in a feminine way, where only a dress or a skirt,
might be a better choice of clothing.

Why is it that some ladies will not ever wear a skirt or dress?

This is not a matter of legalism.
But rather maybe a dress code!

Years ago, it was considered rude not to dress in a proper way!
Dinner, Dates, Holidays, CHURCH...

Will we make a choice to help turn the tide;
Wear a skirt or dress and say NO to pants for just the sake of,
Keeping skirts and dresses the choice of clothing for ladies only.
As it stands it is the only thing we as women can do that we do not share
with Men or Boys...

I'm So Excited...

When was the last time you were this excited?

I really just got a kick out of this sweet little girls' enthusiasm.
She is a great example of what it might look like!

I am learning to take joy and pleasure in life moments!
Really each day has so many opportunities to be excited...

Sometimes we can feel so worn out it is hard to show enthusiasm
for much of anything.
But this is where we need to give ourselves a good talking to!

It is a very good practice to choose joy!

Like can seem very unpredictable, yet we all know that
God alone is in control...

What are some of the moments in your life that bring a smile?
Or maybe a squeal of delight.

I am so excited; I get to go and meet our newest
Grand Daughter!

What a blessing Motherhood is!
Did you ever think that the Motherhood stage in your life would of gone so fast?
I think I blinked...

Being excited will set the atmosphere and tone for your marriage.
It sets the tone for the family.
We can feel that time is marching on, so why not
get your boots on, and start beating the pan!
And singing at the tops of your lungs!

At first we might feel a bit undignified,
But really, your children or grandchildren will think
You're something special!!

We have so much to be thankful for and to be filled with
Joy that is described in the Word is not due to
Favorable circumstances;
But rather a hope and love for Him and those He has given us!

Sure, my joy bucket feels dry once in a while;
But then and there I must stop and patch that hole,
that allowed my joy to leak out!

Sometimes it may be un-forgiveness
It may even be just not getting enough rest.
It can even be what we might call being a stick in the mud!

Do something special!
Make this moment magical!
Give out hugs like they were real!

Pray for special God assignments to bless others!
Have you blessed someone today?

Dear Ones we are all accountable for this day;
What a difference a day makes;
So make it count for His Glory...

I'm so excited I just can't hide it....
I got sunshine on a cloudy day...

Never ever let the song in your heart die!
Sing to the cows come home!

I believe we can encourage ourselves by singing with melody in
Our Hearts...
Or on my case a joyful noise unto the Lord!

May the wind blow;
And the waves of His Love cover you!

May you live and move and have your
being in Him!
Every step I take I take in YOU...

A game of shuffleboard anyone?
Fun and games in the sun...

I am saying goodbye to another summer season...
I have had so may changes in my own life,
And I believe this is a season for many changes in your
own lives!

We must always be flexible so we will not break when a new
and wonderful change does come about.
When we stop to realize God is the potter and
we are the clay...
Girls were going to be so beautiful!

We had a lovely vacation this summer!
We had our 8th grandchild born!
We left our old church, after 12 years with them!
We have joined a new very small independent Baptist Church!
We saw so many rainbows this year!
We had a few hard trials.
I have noticed I am getting older and a bit slower.
I prefer my home and a few close friends over crowds.
My Hubby is my dearest friend...
My two closest friends are moving away soon.

My heart is heavy and glad all at the same time!
His mercies are new every morning...

Tell me about a new change in your own lives...
Where may this next season be taking you?

I pray each and every one of you who visit this humble blog;
Be blessed and filled to overflowing with His Word!

Invest In Things With Eternal Value...

Living From Glory to Glory Blog

When I woke up this morning I felt such a sweet sense of memories!
Feeling the expectation of what a day might bring.

Seasons will come and go...

But we are all looking for bedrock relationships.
Some things require more of us;
Are you willing to invest in things with eternal value?

Let's face it ladies, we all live in a world with more distractions,
Then Carters got pills!
(My Mom always said that, I had no idea what it meant)
But it must of meant way too much!

Well, here goes;
Do you want to be right?
Or keep the peace?

Are you so Bossy even your dog runs away?
Who fears you?

When you get a phone call if they say something like this;
I was bored so I thought I would call you.
(Sure sign something wrong with that relationship)

When was the last time you got a sweet card in the mail from a friend?

Okay, here is the other side of this thought,
When do you stop investing in relationships with friends,
That seem to use and abuse it?

We all have a few cracked pots for friends
But lets face it, we all have a few quirks about us!

I am in a place right now that two very dear friends will be moving.
We just left a church we had been at for a dozen years.
We are going to celebrate another wedding anniversary.
The dog ran away!

Now I just realize summer is almost over!
What....

Okay, back to what I was getting at!
Be wise in who you invest in!

All the time you spend reading the Bible will bring profit!
Every smile you share brings hope!
Every cup of cold water offered in His name,
He says you shall surely not lose your reward!

Invest in your man...
Love him and feed him and be there for him!
Be the cutest, sweetest secretary in the world!
I always liked that song;
~Your not women enough to take my man~

If you have girlfriends that challenge you in the right way;
To grow in Christ, to be a better homemaker,
And makes you laugh, she is probably a keeper!

God has put all things in His timetable,
We all have the same amount of minutes per hour.
May we inquire of the Lord for all we set our hand to...

Notice that picture at the top?
Well, it was an anniversary gift many years ago, and the very
first time I used it for a pot of tea;
To my shock it cracked, I cried!
Yet I still display it in my china curio cabinet!
She is a treasure and a keeper even if she is cracked!
Not perfect, but beautiful to me...

Beware Of The Dog...

Living from Glory to Glory Blog

Alpha Dog
There is one in every pack!
In the hen house we call it the pecking order!

Aggression in animal or human causes distress!
I have never enjoyed bringing a new dog on the scene
 when they are larger in size!

I find myself feeling like I am not safe or comfortable.
There is an instinct that just reacts!

Just for the record, I am not a Dog Whisper...

I have noticed that even people need to be handled with caution.
So many people in the public arena seem like they are just maxed out!
Life for many of them are feeling more burdens than
 God ever intended
for them to carry!

I am so grateful to have a safe haven where I can lay my burdens down!
I heard my pastor say that these are perilous days...

Yet, we cannot be afraid or allow ourselves to be captives
 in our homes or cities!
We must pray for protection and use wisdom,
And still be about Our Father's business.
We must walk in holiness and His righteousness.
Walk in integrity and sincerity

I have noticed if I just walk in humility and love, I can feel
The atmosphere change so people do not feel challenged!

I have the desire to see the aggression dismantled,
Are we to allow this alpha spirit or attitude to control or ruin,
Our homes and church assemblies?

I do not want to be the Alpha,
To be in control over others with either my words or body language.
For I shall walk in Christ's authority in
Love and meekness...

May we look to Christ and His Word to help us to be humble,
But wise...

Philippians 4:13
I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

What About Bob...

What About Bob...

I am going to ask you today a very unasked question?
When you find yourself in a room of relatives you have not seen,
In over 10 years, do you feel like maybe you're all alone or way different?
Do you feel like you're on the outside looking in?

Well, I am going to make a statement on this very feeling!
"They may be the ones on the outside looking in!"
There is a depth and worth of every life.

But I know that we have a Father in Heaven that looks down upon us all!
He sees you!

But what about Bob?
We all have a Bob in our families and our lives!
Did you ever see that movie;
"What About Bob"

Life is tough, and so many have overwhelming hurts and troubles.
We can find ourselves feeling like this is our last chance;
As long as we have breath and life we can  have a fulfilling life.
There are truths in God's Word that will give us the next step!

In the movie the shrink wrote a book called;
"Baby Steps"

Firstly, we need to move in the right direction.
And start taking Baby Steps toward our destiny and future!

Take the step in faith!

Remember, we may at times have felt like Bob,
On the outside looking in!
So maybe the next time we are with a group of people
Look around and think;
And ask yourself
What about Bob...

Keep That Cell Phone Out Of Your Bra...

In the days of cell phone use and how we always have it with us;
This post is another reminder of its potential DANGER!

Remember these phone booths?
Days passed and now we have strapped ourselves
 With high powered frequencies daily!

This gives a whole new meaning to being wired...
No wonder so many women's hair is standing straight up!!

As the technologies that are coming out and more data to support;
This claim of the dangers of carrying a cell phone in your BRA!
Or really anywhere close to your skin or body!

Sometimes we just need to stop doing these things that have
such a strong potential for harm. And so many women think that
Using and caring cell phones are safe.
If you want to see a new site with updated information,
Just click the link below.

Keep that cell phone out of your bra !

Use your cell phone wisely, ladies;
Use the speaker and do not hold it so close to your ear!

Don't Live In Monotone...

Can you hear the music...

Music is all around you,
 I can hear the fluttering of a moth's wing.
I hear the laughing of the boys in the yard playing.

I can hear the crickets chirping in the night.
I can hear the bird singing and chatting away.

The humming of the appliances in the quiet night!
The chimes on the clock say it is now ten o'clock

Another day has come and gone;
May I lay still in my bed and hear my heart beating!

Take no one for granted and expect this time as owed to you!
Time is a gift and you must listen to the music that is playing.

Each note carries a special tune;
Each one carries a high and a low.
No life should be lived in monotone...

Keeping Your Passwords Safe...

Passwords...
Okay, What are the magic words?
Please and Thank You!
Right...

What is your password for all your log in accounts?
Wait a minute, I can't tell you those...
They're a secret!
Correct...
You girls are so smart!
Let's give everyone an award for just trying!
Really??
No...

If we want to be a cut above the rest we need to put a little effort into
whatever we are doing. Don't worry, I just throw this together!

I have been really thinking we need to take the next step.
To ensure a spirit of excellence!
The comeback of I forgot is getting old!
Coming from a five year old is partially acceptable.

Remember when you saw Men with a shirt with a pocket and it
held a pen and a little notebook or pad!
We have smart phones ect. And we can hardly remember anything!

So here are some tips for remembering things!
Write it down
Keep a journal
Have a weekly planner.
Use a calendar and write in the dates!
Tape a note to a spot you see all the time.
Remember your Mother telling you if your head wasn't attached
You would forget that too!

The point of this post is this;
I forgot is not a responsible answer!
I have learned the hard way; we need a support method for trying
to remember all we have to do and using passwords.
Have you noticed we are security crazy?
Everything needs a password!!
Mine is incorrect....

These Shoes Do Not Fit...

This blog post is for any of you ladies that were coming to Link Up!

There is a very important factor in life I have learned, it is this!
You need to be doing what you were created for...
If I want to go hiking or hunting or go on a safari excursion.
I would wear a pair of boots very similar to these.

Cute wee little shoes!
They look so comfortable, I want to wear them;
But they are way too small for me.
No matter how hard I try I cannot comfortably wear them.

These are way more my style!
Cute, classy...
But wait, I am leery of heights!
These are perfect for someone,
Just not for me...

Just can not find a pair of shoes that will fit my style and purpose here!

Okay the point of this Blog post is I am trying to explain that,
I have decided to not continue my Link Up Party!
(I hope you all did not think I was going to quit my Blog...)

I am a bit of sentimental at times;
But I have sought wise counsel concerning this matter,
I believe because of the style and nature of the Blog God has given me.
I must be open to be able to post and write as I feel the leading.

I desire to grow a heart of wisdom and to use my energy and gifting,
In a forum that better suits me and my Hubby!

I enjoy joining other parties and linking to them!
But I feel the thing I desired most is not happening for me
Having my own party.
So with this all said, I am free to write and bless as
The Holy Spirit leads me!

I want to thank Jan,
 who created an amazing cute Link Party button for me!
 (I did save it just in case)  :o)

We have a couple vacation trips planned this summer!
But I will be taking my computer...

Here is where my little toes feel the best fit right now!

Right next to my sweet Grand Child's...

Please know I need to be able to comment and to visit my
Girlfriends and enjoy reading their blogs!
I have missed being able to do that!

So thanks for all you amazing ladies who linked up with me!
And supported this little adventure.
But I can't take the heat, so I better turn the air conditioning on.

PS... I just may have a surprise Link Up's with a special theme!!
Only those that visit regularly will know about them.

Orange Pansies And Graduation...

 Orange Pansies And A Dream

It was the first Spring after my Mother had passed away when
I had a very vivid dream!
And in this dream my Mother and I were talking
and she said to me;
Roxy, I just love orange pansies...
I said really Mom, and she proceeded to tell me all about these orange pansies,
She said they were the most brilliant orange she has ever seen!

The next day my sister called and I told here about this dream I had about Mom
She said wow, how weird is this, I just got back from the
Flower nursery and landscaping place, with two flats of orange pansies!

Neither of us had ever remembered planting them before, or being
Aware of how pretty they were!
Now every Memorial Weekend we try to find some,
As they are very hard to find.
We want to have them as they remind us of our Mother!

This weekend and next is filled with Graduations!

We are all waiting for the next promotion!

Graduating from High school!
Graduating from College!
Graduating in serving Christ in these promotions:
Graduating to a Single Woman serving Christ!
Graduating to a Wife!
Graduating to a Mother!
Graduating to a Grand Mother!
Graduating to Heaven!

We're moving on up!

I believe the colors in Heaven will be brilliant and vibrant of Life!

We need to live our days with eternity in mind!
Be spiritually minded!

What can you say or do that will bring about promotion?
Seek First the Kingdom of God;
And all these are things will be added to you!

I know the next promotion is just ahead...

Courting And The Kiss...

File:Edmund Blair Leighton - On the Threshold.jpg

One thing we can all attest to is this;
Kissing gets the motor running...
The time before marriage is the time our connecters are alive!
We are hard wired this way;

When I kissed her lips...
His lips were hungry...

I think after all these years for myself and my two grown children;
I would now advise to help them decide not to kiss until the wedding day!

Old fashion, and out of touch you may say;
But I now know way more then I did many years ago.

When the engine gets started; it starts getting louder as you step on the gas!
Every kiss is like stepping on the gas...
Vroom, Vroom baby...

We were the typical homeschool family
Jumpers and long hair!
Keeping our children safe and instilling Godly values.

But as the children were getting to the time of thinking of a wife or husband.
As we had always prayed for their mates.
I just missed the part of suggesting at least NO KISSING,
till the wedding.
Extreme, not practical. Silly, weird!!

But I know...
The KISS
Will, get the motor running and then we get into a place
Where we can start to be compromised.

As Orkel use to say
"I am wearing you down baby."

Being close and kissing will most likely turn into more...
No KISS, is innocent!

Remember those of us who have been married for a long time;
It's still in the KISS
Make it a good one!

Preciousness Of Life...

File:Baby lamb.jpg

Wee Little Lamb...
There is just something about little animals, and babies!
It is the newness and preciousness of life.
In the Springtime it is so sweet to see the new baby calves and the
wee little lambs.
We ordered a new batch of baby chicks last week and they said
they have never been this busy!
So due to the large quantity of orders, we will be waiting for a bit longer,
For our chicks to arrive. I have always told my Hubby until we have
everything in place for their arrival, we don't order them.
So now it looks like we are ready well in advance.

How ready are you for having to wait upon someone else timing?
How much training have you had on waiting for God's timing?
Having an ear to hear must be important;
Because He says in His word many times
(May you have ears to hear)

I heard the Lord speak to me a week ago and He said the
Trials are coming...
I did not know if He just meant for my family or many others.
We experienced the trials and felt their pain this last week.

I am going to share a true real life story with you.
As I was driving my sweet Daughter in law to a Dentist appointment,
a few days ago. She was very ill and still is, as she had a root canal go
very bad. She is still waiting for some relief from the pain and infection.
So she is in the car highly medicated and very sick.
She is sleeping as I am driving.
We are on a major street and I get this sick feeling in my stomach and
I just know we are about to drive into a shoot out!
( I am not making this up!)
I make the very next right and drive very fast!!
Then we hear it ...
POP POP
Sirens
Chaos
Cars screeching their tires!
My daughter sits up and she is wide awake,
And I calmly tell her;
We just avoided a shoot out!
I never watched the news that night,
I didn't need to!
I knew what I knew...
Well the rest of the family did watch for it on the news; and it did happen
Just as I knew it did!
God does protect us!
He does direct our steps.
He cares about life, and he wants us to always value the gift of life!

We have aborted way too many lives in this world...
God does not want us to abort our dreams...
He has a destiny and plans for each of us...
He will take total chaos and create life,
He spoke into the darkness;
And there was light!

Our you experiencing trials?

The Color of Life, Vibrate Greens...

Fresh Steamed Broccoli...
Living From Glory To Glory Blog

The Power of Greens

Green is a powerful color, it stimulates life and energy.
 We were born to enjoy the colors!

Green is vibrate and helps us feel alive.

After a long season of browns and browns, we desire color and life.
So many are feeling tired and worn out, and yes, we are busy but maybe we just
Need the change of added colors to our senses.
We can bring about these changes through the foods we are eating.
We need to start eating more salads and green veggies.

Living From Glory To Glory Blog

I have been enjoying a Raw Power Food called:
 Perfect Food
RAW Organic Green Super Food
This is a supplement; but I believe it has helped me!

Bringing in even a new plant this time of year can help!
Adding a touch of bright colors such as buying a small bouquet of flowers,
Can cheer you quite a bit!

Surroundings can help us with how we are handling our emotions!
I try to do something every day that brings me pleasure and brings cheer
To my HOME and my HEART!

Putting even a pretty bowl filled with apples or oranges, on the table,
Can inspire you!.

I love to buy broccoli and to steam it till tender as shown above
Then I add a bit of Parmesan cheese on top and serve it.

Eat your Greens Dear Ones, because we need it so very much....

Never Grow Old Mom: Coulda, Woulda, Shouda...

I really enjoyed this picture for a couple of reasons;
Firstly, I think all of us deep down inside are still really wanting to be young!
And I mean young at heart!
Still willing to be agile in spirit...

My son something to me the other day, that I will remember
For a very long time...
It was this; He said Mom, don't ever grow old!
So many people get way too old before they are even really that old.

Ageing gracefully is not what I am referring to here!

The second reason I liked this picture is this
 We hopefully will be like the shadows dancing inside and not the other way around!
Not really living anymore!
No spring in your step or a song in your heart!
Tired and old and weary and sad!
Inside and Out!
That is what my son was saying...
Stay YOUNG inside Mom!

My older Brother sent this to me, and I thought it was worth sharing,
To a few thousand over 50 ladies or so.

Too many people put off something that brings them joy just because they haven't thought about it, don't have it on their schedule, didn't know it was coming or are too rigid to depart from their routine.

I got to thinking one day about all those people on the Titanic who passed up dessert at dinner that fateful night in an effort to cut back. From then on, I've tried to be a little more flexible.

How many women out there will eat at home because their husband didn't suggest going out to dinner until after something had been thawed? Does the word 'refrigeration' mean nothing to you?

How often have your kids dropped in to talk and sat in silence while you watched ' Jeopardy ' on television?

I cannot count the times I called my sister and said , 'How about going to lunch in a half hour?' She would gasp and stammer, 'I can't. I have clothes on the line. My hair is dirty. I wish I had known yesterday, I had a late breakfast, It looks like rain' And my personal favorite: 'It's Monday.' She died a few years ago. We never did have lunch together.

Because Americans cram so much into their lives, we tend to schedule our headaches.. We live on a sparse diet of promises we make to ourselves when all the conditions are perfect!

We'll go back and visit the grandparents when we get Steve toilet-trained. We'll entertain when we replace the living-room carpet. We'll go on a second honeymoon when we get two more kids out of college.

Life has a way of accelerating as we get older. The days get shorter, and the list of promises to ourselves gets longer. One morning, we awaken, and all we have to show for our lives is a litany of 'I'm going to,' 'I plan on,' and 'Someday, when things are settled down a bit.'

When anyone calls my 'seize the moment' friend, she is open to adventure and available for trips. She keeps an open mind on new ideas. Her enthusiasm for life is contagious. You talk with her for five minutes, and you're ready to trade your bad feet for a pair of Rollerblades and skip an elevator for a bungee cord.

My lips have not touched ice cream in 10 years. I love ice cream. It's just that I might as well apply it directly to my stomach with a spatula and eliminate the digestive process. The other day, I stopped the car and bought a triple-Decker. If my car had hit an iceberg on the way home, I would have died happy.

Now...go on and have a nice day. Do something you WANT to...not something on your SHOULD DO list. If you were going to die soon and had only one phone call you could make, who would you call and what would you say? And why are you waiting?

Make sure you read this to the end; you will understand why I sent this to you.

Have you ever watched kids playing on a merry go round or listened to the rain lapping on the ground? Ever followed a butterfly's erratic flight or gazed at the sun into the fading night? Do you run through each day on the fly? When you ask 'How are you?' Do you hear the reply?

When the day is done, do you lie in your bed with the next hundred chores running through your head? Ever told your child, 'We'll do ittomorrow.' And in your haste, not see his sorrow? Ever lost touch? Let a good friendship die? Just call to say 'Hi'?

When you worry and hurry through your day, it is like an unopened gift....Thrown away..... Life is not a race. Take it slower. Hear the music before the song is over.

'Life may not be the party, we hoped for... But while we are here we might as well dance!'

Remember Dear Ones to Dance inside till the cows come HOME!
