Lovely Skin At Any Age...

~ ~ ~

How to have lovely skin at any age!

I want my skincare routine to be effortless…
And for the methods being easy and practical to follow.
It does not have to be a 10 step program.
If it gets complicated… You may become disinterested and not bother!
(That is not an option)

If I could only have one beauty product… I would choose a cleanser.

If I could have two, the second would be serum.

~ ~ ~

But I have always used a good moisture cream also.
I have had great results with a DayWear moisture cream.
~I use it day and night~

The older I get, the more I feel these products are essential to my skin’s well being.

I don’t believe in product miracles…
 No product can return us to our former glory like when we were twenty...

But that’s okay...

I want my skin to feel smooth, nourished and have the lovely glow and a soft texture
That comes from taking the time to nourish ones face and skin.
 I am convinced that good facial care pays off down the road!

The wrinkles will come, but as long as they are accompanied;
With a smile I can know that growing older and wiser is a god thing!

I have noticed that even using products in my earlier years
Were a help in keeping my skin from drying out and being prone
to wrinkles that were premature.

I think it is a huge thing we can do to help us feel pretty!

We are the temple and we must take care of all aspects of our health.
And keeping your skin clean and protected is not vanity!

Keep it simple and use what you can afford!
I have used plain soap and water as a young woman and Olay moisturizer.
But I do enjoy the luxury of a nice product!
They really do last a very long time...

~But just do something~

Can A Womens Dress Rob God Of His Glory? And Dressing in a Feminine Way...

Living From Glory To Glory Blog, Dressing Like A Lady

The dressing down in America is so upsetting in our world today!
So many women look like frumps;
Or we have the other extreme of women who looks so provocative;
You may find yourself wondering is this a brothel
And this is in the church today...
The church has become a place for the world to come in to see if the shoe fits;
Or how far do I have to go to look like a God fearing woman??

Does all this really matter?

YES...
As I walked through a very large airport this last year I was shocked at what I saw!
But I felt more shocked at what I see in our churches today.

I am not a prude and I do like looking fashionable
Both seductive and alluring is not acceptable...
I did a post on why we should not show cleavage awhile back
You can view it here
Cover Your Cleavage

But now I must do another post for the derriere (bottom half)
Tight pants and skirts and dresses that accentuate your plump bottom
Excites men of all ages...
You my dear become a distraction and a source of allowing yourself
~To rob God of HIS Glory~

As a woman we are to give a visual of hiding what is beneath.
This is really what makes you alluring;
We can also look like a Nun in a full habit and still be provocative;
So we have here ourselves a real problem
Can we just cover all the female parts and be void of this problem?
NO...

We seem to have too many women not doing their job;
 of speaking to ladies and girls on how to dress!
  And being an example!
And we have so many who feel they have the right to dress any way they choose.

Okay, maybe we can not stop this trend of dressing like harlots;
But we can still teach and preach and at times confront in love.
But I will warn even if it is done in love they will be mad and offended!

It is like we have lost all sense of womanly features of the term ladylike!
And believe me, those who are lovely and ladylike in their style,
They are like a picture of loveliness...

We may need help in what is appropriate;
(Don't get all frustrated over this statement)
Ask God, if what you're wearing is okay!

And, I love this one;
I asked my Husband and he said he doesn't care what I wear...
So if he wants you to wear a revealing top in public is this okay?
Or Daise Duke shorts...

Sometimes ladies you could ask your husband if what you're wearing is okay,
But if he has not made a covenant with his eyes and watches P_ R_
He would not be a good choice to use...

To dress more femininely, you should wear flattering clothes that aren't revealing.
 Wear more ladylike clothes such as skirts, dresses, pointed shoes, a cute pair of boots,and scarves,
Wear slacks or jeans that are not too tight!
 A lovely blouse or anything that distinguishes you as a woman and a lady.
 You don't have to look buttoned up, but you can should avoid looking too provocative.
 Wear anything that has feminine features.

 You can find the look that's best for you. If you really don't look good in skirts, go for something else like a loose flowing slacks with a long tunic type.

If you do wear jeans...
Do not wear the skinny jeans!

 Just avoid the "just rolled out of bed" look. Don't wear baggy sweatshirts,
 Baggy pants, long T-shirts, or anything that completely hides your shape.
The over large bag look!
Unless you're going to Walmart you would just blend in!

 Whatever you wear, you should look like you've put in an effort
 Anyone should be able to see that you've put some time and effort into putting your look together.

 Accessorizing....
I just love that word!!

 In addition to your clothes and makeup,
 you should spend some time finding the perfect accessories to go with your wardrobe.
 You don't need to get a box full of accessories -- just a few key items
 can help tie your look together and can make you look more feminine.
 Here are some items to consider as you work on your more feminine look:

~Accessories~
A Great purse
A pretty silk scarf
A cute hat (straw for summer)
 Pearl earrings or other gold hoops
A pearl bracelet or Some thin silver bracelets
I love a necklace myself...
 A cute headband or clip works well for some.
 A signature Scent is so very feminine!

If you want to look like a lady, then you have to smell like a lady.
 Consider putting a dab of perfume on your neck
 or rubbing some scented lotion on your hands or arms.
 Remember to only use a light touch you don't want to overwhelm anyone with too-strong perfume.

~Be Graceful~

Being graceful as you walk, and sit!
 Cross your legs at least at the ankle.
All this is important for where you are and what you're doing.
When I am on the shooting range, you must move and act appropriately.
 Being graceful is the way you carry yourself in all situations.

~Acting Like a Lady~

Being kind and being confident in who you are in Christ! Looking calm and not anxious.
I remember always being in a hurry, and it showed in my mood and my mannerism.

How The Benefits of Epsom Salts Can Help Heal...

Living From Glory To Glory Blog

Natures Wonder...

This wonderful natural salt can be used for many things;
It is a beauty secret and can be used for health benefits.

You can use it as a facial mask;
Mix with a small amount of honey and smooth a bit in your face and neck.
Let set for 2-3 minutes and gently wash off!
It makes your face look radiant and smooth  looking skin...

I have always enjoyed the benefits of using Epsom salt in my bath or a foot soak!
(This is a wonderful thing to do for your Hubby when he gets home from work once in awhile)
If you have a splinter in a finger it will help to draw it out. And helps take the pain away!
It will help you feel relaxed and refreshed when used in your bath water!

This is the time of the year where we are working outside so much more.
And getting more use of all our muscles!

But I have really come to realize the benefits of the this salt filled with magnesium!

Our bodies are so depleted in this wonderful mineral!
There is now an oil you can get from your health food store that
you can just rub on your skin.

Here are just a few good reasons to use Epsom salts;

Using this in your bath water will help Relieve Stress and Anxiety: The moment you slide into a warm bath, you may instantly feel less stressed...

Epsom salt also helps reduce your stress because it helps your body to produce serotonin, a mood-elevating chemical in the brain that brings an overall calm feeling to your body and mind.
Epsom salt also lowers blood pressure and helps you sleep like a baby.

Epsom salt will help Relieves Pain and Muscle Cramps:
 The majority of our pain comes from inflammation of the joints and muscles
 this is especially true in the case of back pain.
 Epsom salt helps relieve the pain and the inflammation in all your joints!
 It also will help heal skin wounds and can help with migraine headaches.

 It is really good for your brain and your level of electrolytes.
I have heard it helps with concentration!
People that have seizures can benefit from magnesium also.

The Epsom salt bath will also help remove toxins, but be warned;
These mineral salt baths do make you feel tired, so take them in the evenings
Just before bedtime!
Also, you need to drink plenty of water to keep flushing out the toxins!

Epsom salt is actually a pure mineral compound of both magnesium and sulfate.
It has shown in studies to contain over 325 enzymes.

I know it helps with inflammation of any joint or back pain!

I always have a bag or carton of this magic cure around my house!
This stuff is so cheap, you can find it even at most Dollar Stores.
I think this is a very frugal health item that should be in every
Medicinal cabinet, as it works for so many things that ail us,
And is so cost efficient and affordable!

You can then pour it into a pretty jar and set near your tub or counter top.

I really think this salt is a gift from the Lord, as it has so many healing qualities!

Here are some of the same facts from the Epsom Salt Council;
Click on their link below for more good information

Do share with me anything that you have benefited
From using Epsom Salts...

(Years ago ladies wore gloves, while out in public!
I wonder if it helped them not be exposed to so many germs?

Ways to Use Vicks VapoRub...

Living From Glory to Glory Blog

I have had this one little product in my medicine cabinet for years!
I have used it on so many sore throats and necks and muscles.

It is a small jar that packs a tough punch for ailments!

It is like so many medicinal items over the years;
We see a re-packaging and design, but I think the context is the same.

Vicks VapoRub is one of the oldest and best selling cold remedies on the market. Consumer marketing company Nielsen reports that the ointment is the number one cold treatment for children by overall sales in 2009. First sold in the 1890s as a croup and pneumonia remedy, VapourRub contains three active ingredients--camphor, eucalyptus oil and menthol.

Here is a list of a few great ideas for its use;

Sore Throat- Rub on throat and wrap with a strip of flannel
(Be in a sitting or a lounge chair)

Decongestant-  Rub on chest and just below in each nostril
(Place under chin for babies and toddlers)

Coughs- Rug generously on the bottoms of feet,
Cover with warm socks to help minimize coughing!

Sore Muscles- Rub generously into sore muscles.

Headaches- Rub onto forehead and temples, back of neck!

Earaches- Dab Vicks onto a cotton ball and place in ear.
To relieve some of the pain.
(You can also apply a heating pad over the ear)

Cracked Heels- Rub into feet in the morning and night;
(Wear a pair of sock to help the softening quicker)

Cold Sores- Rub some Vick's on the area as soon as you feel it coming on!
(Also, before you add the fix place an ice cube over spot till dumb)
This tells the virus to go back down...

Nail Fungus- Rub into affected toes with fungus,
The nail will turn dark in color, but it will grow out healthy!

Mosquito Repellent- Rub on bare, exposed arms and legs, and back of neck.

Itchy Bug Bites- Rub onto bug bites and then cover with a band-aid!

I have read and heard some controversy about this product;
But I have used this and find it safe with no side effects!
Yes, I am sure you can make a healthier version for yourself,
But, I still find comfort from this product, and I have many memories
From it being used when I was a child, and using it on my children when they
We're young and needed something to help a bad cold or an itchy bug bite.

I am just now recovering from pneumonia and I have used this daily for a bit of comfort!
I will keep my Vicks VapoRub...

Can you think of some other ways that Vicks has been used to help you!
I hope you will share them with me!

The Cinderella Syndrome...

Living from Glory to Glory Blog
Artist; Carolina Elizabeth

The Cinderella in all of us...

I feel pretty, oh so pretty....
Ta Daaa!

Everyday we awake with a whole wonderful script written out for each of us.
 We have all the lines and scenes all ready written out!
We get to play the leading role....

Your Cinderella
(The Princess)

And we all have a Fairy God Father
(The King of Kings)

We all have a wicked step Mother
(Satan the big deceiver)

When we stop looking in the mirror and examining
our own faces and our body size.
And;
Start looking into His word and examining our hearts!

We really do become pretty and you act pretty.
Remember Cinderella, she did do all the right things;
It was a matter of her heart and obedience to those in authority.

But the key here for me is this;
There is only one true authority, and I am His loyal subject.

I don't want to ride around in a pumpkin
And where glass slippers.
But I do want to feel loved and valued.
So what we are called to do is to love others;
Help them to feel special and reward them for their goodness.
Giving honor to others will put you in the right place.
Most issues are heart issues!
Jealousy, bitterness, and anger will keep you
from being a Cinderella.
As in God's eyes if you have given Christ your heart first;
You are now a real princess!

And you do not even have to ride to the great banquet in a pumpkin.

So many are looking for a fairy tale story!
"Why not live your very own real life story"
Be who He has created you to be...

May the real Cinderella please stand up...

Do not give up and keep your heart open to His direction.
Here is a lovely bouquet of flowers for all you do,

Pearls Never Go Out Of Style...

Living from glory to glory blog

I just loved her pearls...
It was that little added touch that made her so soft and gentle looking.
So many homemakers, do not care how they look anymore.
I believe there is a direct correlation to how you dress as to how you act!

So to see this simple pearl necklace that June is wearing, we are
still feeling the effects today!
Women who keep the home full time can still look
lovely and fashionable!
As we all know pearls will never go out of style.

I almost always wear an apron as soon as I dress for the day;
So I will not ruin my clothing while I cook and clean.

Being aware of how you dress and not looking frumpy;
Will help you feel more positive and proper.
We have such a casual attire;
Sloppy and manly seems the norm for most stay at home mommies!
And the older women have decided that it is just too much work.
Really?
Why has dressing lovely for the day become such a chore?
Just throw on some jeans and an old T-shirt, and your good to go!

Just makes me wonder how so many are having Tats and how nice
they think they look!
NOT...
I must tell you this;
I have never seen a pretty tattoo!
No, not even those little flowers;
Or your little hearts...
Believe me, when you are about 60 years old you are going to wish
You had just bought a set of pearls!

Women Wearing Pants Everywhere...

 Ladies.

Now, I am not trying to be contentious about this pants matter!
We may all want to cover up our behinds as we do show too
much backside!

This was just an observation, from my point of view.
(The Rear)

I guess this is the very first time I really stopped to notice how a woman
wearing pants, may look like they could be
 just showing too much to others!

I have stated before, I will wear slacks occasionally.
My point here was this
These are occasions where a lady might wear something more Lady like.
A Church function!
(Special Occasions)
These might be considered to be an appropriate time too
wear a skirt or a dress!
(In My Opinion)

We can be so vain or more, focused on comfort that we can
forget about dressing in a feminine way, where only a dress or a skirt,
might be a better choice of clothing.

Why is it that some ladies will not ever wear a skirt or dress?

This is not a matter of legalism.
But rather maybe a dress code!

Years ago, it was considered rude not to dress in a proper way!
Dinner, Dates, Holidays, CHURCH...

Will we make a choice to help turn the tide;
Wear a skirt or dress and say NO to pants for just the sake of,
Keeping skirts and dresses the choice of clothing for ladies only.
As it stands it is the only thing we as women can do that we do not share
with Men or Boys...

Lovely And Wind Swept...

Lovely and wind swept...
A Lady of soft and flowing coverings.
Why do women say they feel more comfortable in pants?

We wear pants and capri's like we do not even own a skirt anymore!
I guess I am getting sad and sentimental over women;
Not wanting or desiring to look soft and flowing
 Like a lady of yesterday!

I am not leaning into some legalistic debate here!
Just wondering why we can so easily slip into pants and shorts.
But not find it as easily to wear skirts!

I have heard some ladies say it is the shoes to wear with the
Skirts that are the problem.

I think we just are not in the habit of wearing skirts;
So we just throw on our pants or slacks or capris'.
Good for the day...

Taking no thought to if we look soft and pretty!
I know of some ladies I have never seen them in a skirt!
NEVER...

I just think we can wear a skirt often enough to change are wardrobe habits!

So have you ever seen a Bride walking down the aisle with pants on?
Or have you ever heard the saying; who wears the pants in the family?

Now, Don't get all gritchity with me here!
I do wear Capri's and jeans,
Just not every single day...
I wear an apron every time I cook or mostly all day over what I have on!
When I am asked to speak, I wear a skirt.
When I go to a wedding I really dress up!
When I work in the yard, I wear work clothes!

All I am saying is this;
ONLY WOMEN WHERE SKIRTS IN AMERICA
(At least for now till a new style comes in)
REALLY that could happen as we are so uni- sexed in how we look!
Just saying...

From glory to glory,

Gibson Girls Hair Styles And How We Can Have Lovely Hair...

 February 1903 Cover
The Gibson Girls became the standard of femine beauty from the 1890-1903.

Titled Picturesque America, Anywhere Along the Coast) in beach attire!

I am not sure I can hardly stand going to the beach or swimming pools any longer
 I feel that our lack of clothing is so shocking.
Not to mention setting your Husband up for what He tries to avoid everyday!

If you would like to see all the different magazine covers from the
Ladies Home Journal
Just click link below

You may want to read some history of the Gibson Girl Look!

I loved the hair styles and the feminine looking clothes they wore.
But I know so many things that come from fads and design
 And these different movements
 have brought changes that we have all seen and felt.
Some of them have been good, but many have left us not,
looking or acting like ladies anymore.

I just think we can make a few personal choices to keep our hair,
and clothing modest and feminine.

Hope you enjoyed these lovely images!
I do believe woman are experimenting with longer hairstyles.
And looking quite lovely, I think.
I think a woman at any age can have hair that is amazing!
Clean and brushed and curled or straightened!
Using a shampoo that says for Volume on it really helps.
Only use your cream rinse on the ends of your hair.
One way to wear your hair in a bun that has some puff to it;
Is by curling your hair before pinning it up.
 My trick is to put your hair up on top of your head for a few minutes
 before you arrange it into a bun. This allows for a bit of volume.

I am also very interested in seeing women take the lovely
 Silver and gray hair that
  comes as we age. And to embrace it and allow it to grow long.
Or maybe a lovely cut, shaped to their face.
Keeping it well trimmed and using a shampoo that is made for
Silver and white hair, really makes it shine!
I think God knows what looks good on us as are skin tones will change
 from when we were younger.
The gray and silver streaks look so much more becoming.
As we all know the roots that grow out always really tells the truth.

Our hair is to be are soft and lovely feature!

Beauty Marks Or Age Spots...

Looking down and seeing my hands has been an indicator of lately.
What exactly is it an indicator of?

I have used these hands for many things!
I think as a woman of God, my hands are symbolic of my heart!
What has been in my heart has been many times worked out with my hands.

I had my hand held by my Hubby many moons ago!
We exchanged these vows;

Groom: I,____, take thee,_____, to my wedded Wife, to have and to hold from this day forward, for better for worse, for richer for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, till death us do part, according to God's holy ordinance; and thereto I plight thee my troth.

Bride: I,_____, take thee,_____, to my wedded Husband, to have and to hold from this day forward, for better for worse, for richer for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love, cherish, and to obey, till death us do part, according to God's holy ordinance; and thereto I give thee my troth.

I think my hands have trembled a time or two, I have held the
hands of my children and grandchildren!
I have laid these hands over a fevered brow.

I have used my hands and folded them to pray!
My hands have held the hands of a dying Mother and Father.

My hands have been idle by my side a time or two!

My hands have sewn  a bridle veil,
 An a baby blanket bundling a newborn in.

I have used these hands to fold clothes of so many loads of laundry.
I have kneaded and made batches of fresh bread.
These hands have mixed a batch of cookies to eat and savor.
These hands have washed more dishes than I could count!

My hands are His instruments to love and to build and create!
My hands are worn to a soft and tender touch.

I have looked down and said my hands look just like my Mothers!

I have made this statement
 these hands now have beauty marks upon them;
The world calls them age spots, I choose to call them
Beauty spots...

When we long for life without difficulties, remind us that oaks grow strong in contrary winds and diamonds are made under pressure.

Beware Of Dangers In Your Body Lotions...

 Living From Glory To Glory Blog

Okay!!
I want to make myself perfectly clear on this post!
This is something I feel very strongly about;
I believe if you are going to use a body lotion only use one that is natural!!
See I said it!!

Why you ask???

Because your skin will quickly absorb this product and it goes directly into
Your blood stream. And I believe it is possibly the worst thing women can do.
For many health reasons...

Many years ago I was very convicted about this one morning,
As I was praying...
Yup, just popped into my head!
(I call these downloads from the Lord)

I was convinced He was speaking to me!!
I listened...

I wanted to share this as I am not a complete health freak,
 But I can tell you this.
 It was a very wise health move!
There are way too many ingredients that are put in lotions that you can not
Even pronounce, let alone recognize what they are even.

So, I suggest to you wonderful Ladies out there to stop adding poison
To your skin!
Our skin is actually our largest organ.
I think most lotions do damage to your liver and bloodstream!
I have used many different kinds and brands.
 And there are so many good ones out there to choose from.
 And they can get a bit pricey,
 But I believe for health reasons it's a must!

Plus, you will feel good about not putting something harmful all over your body!
But rather a product that will keep your skin safe and smooth!
And you can always use coconut oil on your body after a shower,
But it can tend to be a bit greasy or what I might say
(slickery) My own word ;o)

Please consider this Dear Ones...

How To Have Beautiful Skin and My Secret...

~Beautiful Skin~
When we are born our skin is soft and smooth,
It is moist and fresh.
Who doesn't  just love the softness of a baby's skin?
But, as we age our skin grows older,
And we loose some of the moisture.
It can become dry and dull looking!
I have been forever grateful to an older woman
 Who many years ago that took the time,
 To teach me about good skin care.
I remember her telling me that;
 If I would take care of my skin now I would see the benefits,
Once I became older.
Here is what I was taught;
Wash your face every morning with a mild cleanser.
Use a toner if you like,
Then use a moisturizer on it!
This is where I always splurge,
Buying a product that works!!
Now, here is where many women might not follow through;
Use a makeup remover for your eyes...
I have always used Ponds cleanser for this,
(As it does not irritate my eyes)
You must wash your face every night with a cleanser!
Then apply a good moisturizer to your face
(And to your your neck also)!!
While you are sleeping is when your skin will recover
From the day's stress.

Okay, this is what I do daily and I am grateful;
For being a wise woman and taking care of my skin
 While in my youth!
Because now I am older :)

Here are some of my favorite products:
Elizabeth Arden
Estee Lauder
Olay
Clinique
Jafra (Royal Jelly Moisture)

Here is my secret weapon for my skin now days:
Coconut oil with a drop of geranium oil
I get my oils from Young Living!
Coconut oil I use everyday on my face,
It will feel greasy when applied, but it will soak in a little.
Try it at first in the evening.

Over the years I have asked for these as gifts;
 For my Birthday and Anniversary,
Christmas.

I have tried many products and I have realized
You must find one that fits your skin,
And after you use it, can you say that there is
a difference?

If not; It is not working!
Your face should not feel dried out,
and not greasy.
 But rather soft and moist.

I do not use soap on my face unless it's an emergency!

My good friend at Deep Roots did a great post on coconut oil also,
Check out her link below!

Blessings,
Roxy
