Moist Scones Made With Dried Cherries And White Chocolate Chips...

Scones For Valentines Day, Living From Glory To Glory Blog

Scones Made With Dried Cherries And White Chocolate Chips

These are my all time favorite scones!
I have made these for special tea parties and of course just to enjoy,
They bake up quick and they freeze really well also!
I like them because they are light and not real sweet.
And they are just very pretty for a baked good!

Scones are something that always tastes good for a desert or a special occasion.
But if you want a special treat for yourself, you really must try this recipe!
You will love it!

Cherry And White Chocolate Chip Scones

3 cups white unbleached flour
1/2 cup sugar
2-1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp soda
6 tablespoons cold butter
(No substitutes)
1 cup of vanilla flavored yogurt
1/4 of a cup of milk

1/2 cup dried cherries (I like to make my dried cherries into smaller size pieces)
2/3 cup white chocolate chips

In Your bowl. Combine all the dry ingredients, now cut in your COLD butter until your dough has a crumbled texture.
Add your milk and yogurt together; stir into crumbled mixture, just until moistened..
Knead in the cherries and chips.

Now you pat the dough into a circle on a floured surface and now you cut it into slices;
(You can make them large or I like mine in much smaller bite size scones)

Bake on a greased baking sheet at 375 degrees for 15-20 minutes for large size scones
But a shorter time for the bite size ones.

Dish Towels Made From A Drop Cloth...

Making these dish towels from a drop cloth was very easy!
It also made a lot of them...
Firstly, I washed the drop cloth in my washer and dried it.
I used a drop cloth that was 100% cotton.

I used a dish towel that was a size that I preferred for my pattern!
Some towels are just too short or long and even to wide.

I cut them to size and then I ironed a hem, then I did a quick
Run on my sewing machine.

I embellished them with bits of scrap material and some I added a bit of lace ribbon.

It was so easy peasy and I made a ton of them and gave them away as gifts.
I kept a few for myself and have found them to be a superb towel!

I wished I had taken a few more pictures of all the ones I made.
But really you can use the colors that match your kitchen!
Make a few for friends and family!

They would make a nice gift for a Bridal shower,
 because these babies hold up in the kitchen!

This was the label that was one the one I purchased for this project!
I found mine at a store called Harbor Freight.

I do love a good dish towel and these are really a very nice quality;

In these long winter months you could make some for gifts or for yourself!

Have you ever tried making anything from Drop Cloths?

If you like this idea feel free to put it on your Pinterest Board

When You Think You Can't Eat Another Bite, Think Again...

Making Pie, Living from glory to glory blog...

Sometimes I am almost sure I have two stomachs;
One for the good for you foods;
Meat and potato's and of course your veggies.

But pie is the best food group yet!

A Cherry Tart, Living From Glory To Glory Blog
Presenting my Cherry Tart I made in my new tart pan!
I made the crust with a G/F flour mix,
But you can use any pastry dough recipe you like.
I used a cream cheese filling with fresh eggs and an almond flavoring.
I used a can of sweet cherries with a rich syrup.

I will serve it nice and cold and if anyone wants a dollop of whip cream,
"I say the more the merrier"

My personal preference is apple pie or a cherry tart, but at this time of year;

We must have Pumpkin Pie...

We need pie for all our Thanks Gathering Day!

I want to share with you all how much I have learned in my own little kitchen...

I know you have all heard the little secret of what ingredient makes any
Recipe tastes delicious!

Well, it is true...

When you take anything you are preparing for a meal or a dessert, and
Consciously enjoy measuring and stirring and adding each spice or flavoring,
You enjoy this part of creating something that has true substance.

I believe that is why it is not just the choice of foods being served;
But rather how they are handled and appreciated.

It is like a fine wine it is presented as having a personality;
Full bodied and sweet or a full bouquet of an aroma!
Spicy or dry, crisp and fruity.
Balanced, bold and buttery,
Nutty and rich...

Well, that is what we should be preparing in our kitchens!
Now we must add the most important ingredient.

Add the love...

I have made many, many meals in all my years of being a homemaker.
And if I have a bad attitude or just not appreciative of all that
I have been given, or allow my foods to go to waste.
It shows up in my meals that come from the kitchen, but not my heart!

So always make the time to enjoy the preparation and even the clean up!
Thank God you have a kitchen and food to prepare and loved ones to serve.

My Franciscan Rose Pattern Dinnerware...

Living from Glory To Glory Blog ,Franciscan Rose Pattern Dinnerware

My Beautiful Rose Franciscan Pattern Dinnerare
And My Story...

My Rose Pattern dish's now have some very pretty green glasses to go with them!
When my Mother passed, I asked for her dish set because she and I had a love for
this lovely rose pattern for many years.

I remember as a child she only had the sugar bowl and creamer
And just two teacups with saucers.
She would use these two cups when a neighbor would stop in for a cup of coffee.
I do not think we do that anymore...

Years before my Mother died, she gave me the sugar bowl and creamer
For my 30th birthday!
I do not use them any longer as they are a bit cracked and very fragile.
So I leave them in my china hutch!

Let me tell you the story of how I happened to acquire a complete set
of this lovely Franciscan tableware!

Well, my older brother knew how much mother loved this pattern!
As I mentioned when my Mother did pass I did get 6 dinner plates and 6 bowls
 and that was what I had gotten from our Mother.

But I got a phone call from my brother and he asked all the other sisters if they
wanted some of those same rose pattern dinnerware.
They said no as it was not their style,
But they did say ask Roxy, she loves that stuff!!

Living From Glory To Glory Blog

So when my brother went to an estate sale back east he saw these dishes!!
The man that had lived at this estate was a client of my brothers;
So when he asked about these dishes they told him he could have the entire set!
(Not sure of what he may have paid as I never asked)

But I will tell you this it was a huge amount of every size and everything imaginable.

The boxes just started coming to the house and they were huge!
The Fed Ex guy was like who sent you this??
I told him the story and he said boy you have one nice brother!
~And Yes, Yes I do~

It took my Daughter in love many hours to unpack the boxes!
We had so many the entire floor and table were covered in Roses...

I have so many dishes that I had to pack away many of them!
I kept out a table setting for twelve!

I use them as my daily dishware so I always think of my Mother!

I received serving bowls and serving platters, and casserole dishes.

I have two different styles of teapots...

But just recently we found some nice green glassware at Tuesday Mornings
(Love that place)

So I bought a stemware green glass and then a regular tall glass for tea and milk.

My cupboards are bursting with Roses!!
And it makes me smile and I count my blessings that my dear brother
gave me such a lavish gift!

You know I just had a thought or maybe it was a memory about how and
where my dear mother would have gotten the money to buy her
Cream and sugar set and her two coffee cups?

I believe it was probably with her little books filled with
S&H Green Stamps

~Thank You, Dear Big Brother~
Thank You Mom for giving me the love of Roses...

Do You Ladies remember a dish pattern your family used while growing up?

Making Fabric Pumkins And Adding Some Fall Ambiance In Your Home...

How To Make Your Own Fabric Pumpkins, Living From Glory To Glory Blog

Making Your Own Fabric Pumpkins

I really enjoyed making these fun fabric pumpkins,
 so I wanted to share them with you ladies.

You can make them in so many different sizes and different fabrics!
And You do not have to know how to sew   : o)

Choose some fabric that has a fall or an autumn design or just considered fall colors,
Plain or with a pattern even the country style!
(You can even tea stain some material for this craft)

I traced on the back side of the material
3 different sizes of a circle's, small, medium and large.
The larger ones are a bit easier to work with!
I used my largest bowl and then a large plate and a smaller bowl.

You will need to use a needle and thread and go around the top of each pumpkin;
Do this gathering stitch just about 3/4 inch in so it pulls the gathering nicely.
Use a gathering stitch and also make sure you have a big enough knot
at the end of your thread, so it does not slip through the fabric!

Once you have finished this, you will stuff the pumpkin with your
crafters Fiberfill stuffing. You want it to be full just not overly stuffed.
(Closing up the gap in the top can be a little bit harder,
But maybe you can have someone hold your pumpkin and close it up
as tight as you can. Then tie it off and knot it a few times!
You must make sure you do this well, do not be afraid to add as many stitches as
you need to get it closed and stuffing stays inside of it)

Find some wooden stems from your trees or an old sunflower stem
or you can use cinnamon sticks as your pumpkin stems.

You will need to use your glue gun and apply enough glue to the end
Now press it down into the middle of your pumpkin.

Items Needed For This Craft

Fabric of your choice
Choice of a stem for your Pumpkin
Glue Gun and glue sticks
Ribbon
Moss, grass for covering the top of the pumpkins
Needle and thread
A bag of Polyester Fiberfill for crafts

Any other embellishments you like;
Fall leaves (I bought mine from the dollar Store)
Buttons
Ribbons
Also, we found very tiny chalkboard signs we attached to some
of the pumpkins and we wrote Happy Fall on them!

This really has been a super easy and fun craft!
One of the ladies that I had over to make these told me that
she planned on making some more of the tiny ones and will give
them  away as a gift with a loaf of pumpkin bread!

I did use some burlap material, but I also had to use embroidery thread
And an embroidery needle to sew the gathering stitch for this one.
The burlap was stiff and was harder to work with.
But the burlap I chose had some specks of gold in it and was really pretty!

You can make them as large or as small as you like;

Tip: Always use a popsicle stick to push the ribbons and moss on your
Pumpkins, so you do not burn your fingers!!

~Use Your Imagination and create a lovely fall ambiance in your home~

Making Caramel Apples...

Carmel Apples, Living from Glory To Glory Blog

Delicious Carmel Apples...

Sometimes in the changing of a season, I have found that I needed
To do something to help with the transitioning!

Maybe all feel a bit sad when you finally start to figure out
How to do something well, and boom its time to change.
( I remember feeling that way when we were learning to square dance
You would finally get into step or rhythm with your dance partner;
And it was time to swing to the next one in line)
Now mind you I was only in elementary school; but I wanted to stick
With the one who didn't step on my feet.

Well any who;
Fall is probably one of the best times of the year cycle
In the natural and in the stage of life.
You have all heard our ages, may correspond with
Spring, summer, fall and winter!

So let's just say my time or age is the fall season.
I just figured out the summer portion and here we have shifted!
Fall is refreshing with the cooler weather yet cozy!

Harvest and putting back and getting ready for early nights!

So I was wondering what I might make or do to help me!

So I decided I had not made caramel apples in years so this is
My choice of a transitional idea.

I made the trek to town and bought some apples
Honeycrisp, not too sweet, but a bit tart.
Two bags of caramels
A small package of popsicle sticks from the craft aisle.

Caramel Apples, Living From Glory To Glory Blog...

Then I needed my little helper!
Together we were able to unwrap all the little tiny caramels!

Caramels, Living From Glory To Glory Blog

Then I washed and dried all the apples;
And we put a stick into the center of each apple.

We placed the caramels in a heavy pan with
 2 tablespoons of water and stirred constantly!
Once melted we put the apples in the oohy gooey caramels!
Our plan was to get some nuts on the sop of them, and sprinkles
 But the camels hardened way too fast.

We placed them on some wax paper that was well buttered!
Then you put them in the refrigerator till you're ready to eat them!

Fall Traditions, Living From Glory To Glory Blog

What is new around the homestead?

I had my grandson pull out my tub
Of all my Fall decorations!
Looking forward to getting my mantel decorated for fall!

The little piggies are getting big!

Some cooler weather is in our area today!

I made some dumplings this morning!
Here is my recipe!

I ordered myself a new tea pot from;
Roses And Tea Cups

I have come to realize that in all these years that I have stayed home it
Has allowed me to be less stressed than many women I have encountered.

Still waiting for our newest grandchild to be born!

I made scones this morning!
Also the other day I made a lemon cream pie!

Blessings to each and every one of you!

How Little Things Can Change Your Life...

~There is just something so special about a beautiful teacup~

There are so many lovely teacups out there and what a treasure to have one.

But what I think is so sad is how we no longer have time for tea!
Or we may not have the pleasure of company to share it with.

I was given the little teacup through an exchange from our friend
Stephanie's blog Enchanted Rose.
And the day before my cup arrived, my dear Husband bought me the larger
One from an antique store in our town!
So now I have a large one and a tiny one for a child to share some tea!

Here is a lovely blue glass tea light holder made by my sister
last year for my birthday.
 I love it because it matches my beach decor
in our master bath!
A simple gift made with love for me!

These windmill cookies always make me smile;
They bring back such happy memories;
These cookies were some of my Mothers very favorite cookies!
She would have one with her afternoon cup of coffee.

Here is a new ironing board cover I bought for my sewing room!
I do manage to go through many covers as I do enjoy ironing!
I have some material that I have purchased and I do plan
on making another one for myself so when this one gets holes
I will have one made already!

I miss so many things now days!

The ancient paths seem like it has been lost to so many!

I miss having a close friend to have tea with!

I miss my Mother and all her ways!

I miss being close to my sister!

I miss ironing my children's clothing!

I miss having my children home!

I miss having all my grandchildren close!

I miss having comments on my blog!

I guess the reason I miss all these things is because they were all happy
things that gave me sweet memories and gifts given in love!
Things to do on any given day that seemed not big or important
Yet, now leave me feeling a bit at a loss...

Why I Love Linens And Lace...

Living From Glory To Glory Blog

There are just some things that just seem like whoever made or designed them
 had a special purpose in mind. And I have always appreciated their effort!

When you take the time to add something that brings just that little pop.

I little tablecloth or doily or table runner just does that in my home!

I also enjoy a nice set of kitchen towels or bathroom towels.

On a few of my widows I have the actual drapes or curtains,
 but I also like to add a lace valance, or a matching fabric for that
extra fullness and touch.

I enjoy keeping my home and rooms in order,
 but it really is just a few little things that make it
cozy and homey!

I enjoy looking at magazines or an antique shop and see how they
Have arranged some of their items on bookcases and end tables and
China hutches. Also, just a word of caution, we can overdo and have
things start to look cluttered.

I do have a drawer that I keep my linens and doilies and table coverings in.
I have a few that I use in the fall and winter months;
And some that are for spring and summer!

I have some things that I have found at thrift stores and antique shops.
I also have some that belonged to my grandmother and mother.

I always try to wash these linens and doilies on a gentle cycle and line dry them!

Every now and again, I will go through these and give a few away!
My sister has always wrapped a gift for me in a nice linen or lace.
And she adds a pretty ribbon and it makes a lovely way to wrap up a gift!

I also try not to make things too frilly or girly as my husband
enjoys more natural colors. He has a great taste in color and design.
Seriously, he has great taste!
I think it is important to ask their opinion on what they like.
But if he says whatever you like dear, then go for it!

I little bit of both and in different rooms you can do a bit different in each!
A little paint and a new throw rug can jazz up any space!

~This is the perfect time of the year to keep an eye out for a few pretty treasures~

Lilly Of The Valley Flowers And A Memory...

Living From Glory To Glory Blog...

When I was a child, we had amazing patch of Lily Of The Valley Flowers
The memory of the aroma of these flowers still lingers with me!

How can something so small and dainty leave a lifelong impression upon me?

I remember one time laying down next to this patch of flowers;
And I said I am going to remember this wonderful sweet smell forever...
~ I did ~

We need to make the effort to capture moments,
It is such a powerful thing to remember a sweet memory!

I remember my mother had the most lovely periwinkle blue dress.
She would wear it for only very special occasions.
I loved it on her!
I remember seeing her one time in that dress and I said to myself,
"She is the most beautiful mother in the world"
~ She was ~

I remember sitting in a big white Chrysler vehicle one sunless day,
And in front of that car stood a black hearse.
My Grandmother was in it, waiting to be buried in the cemetery.
Our family matriarch had died!
~ Gone ~

It is just another day in the life and times!
Will I leave a legacy of a sweet smelling aroma,
Is the fragrance arising day and night!

Will the day God calls me home be etched in a loved ones mind;
And the small and special moments of a special day be remembered?

We can make a difference...
We can be the one to deposit wonderful memories!

Every day has great big possibilities to change and encourage;
To each and every person God has given you!

I think as I have looked over the worst lie of the enemy of my soul,
Has been this one;
What you do does not make one bit of difference in this world or in the lives of others!

I know it is a lie, because I have seen the fruit of my life now!
And I am still here to plant seeds and sweet memories...

~ Sweet Memories are a gift of love ~

Meeting Real People From Our Blogs And Real Friendships...

Deborah And Roxy

Meeting a dear blogging friend from,

Some girls just want to have fun...

When you are a blogger, you interact with so many different ladies,
From all over the world.
Some our young some are older and wiser.
Sometimes it is a bit hard to realize that they are real and have different
personalities and qualities.

Some are just in the beginning years of marriage and families.
But they all seem to have the same desire is to love God;
Raise their children and to be a good wife.

So yes, we seem to have that all in common.

So when you are given a chance to get to know a blogger a bit better!
Now, is where it gets fun and interesting.
Years ago we might of had a penpal to write to.

But through blogging we can email and send pictures to them!
We can even exchange addresses and write or send a gift!
You can even exchange phone numbers and have a nice chat!

Deborah and Amy

Also my darling daughter in law got to go with me to meet Deborah!

We all truly had a lovely lunch and great conversation!
Sometimes we can really get a sweet friendship through blogging.

My thoughts were very much matched what Deborah would be like.
She is kind and warm and gracious, and truly loves the Lord.
She is real and sincere and I loved meeting her!
She looked beautiful and her hair was darling!
(Remember her post on going natural)
And she did grace me with a lovely tea cup and a bag of tea.
It was a pretty white and black pattern.

All I can say is this;
Amy and I thought it was a lovely time visiting and sharing our hearts!
We loved meeting you, dear Deborah!!

Good Manners For Puppies And People...

Ranch Security

I would like to introduce you to our new puppy

Hank is his name, already has the nickname
"Hank the Tank"

He is part basset hound and terrier!
He is very smart and loyal.
He has the sweetest personality you could want to find in a dog.

I have been very busy training him to have good dog manners.
 And the importance
By doing his business outside!
(We have had only two piddles inside)

This will be the first inside dog we have had in over 18 years.

But this little guy loves being outside with the other dogs!
But the plan is to have him inside in a crate to sleep.
He comes in every couple of hours to take a nap and play with his toys.
Oh, and of course to eat a bowl of chow.
But he has already managed to win our hearts!

Our cat Jasmine is wondering now when does this puppy go back
from where he came from??

Also with all we have to do outside, we are working in flower beds
 and watering the trees!

Spring winds and blowing dirt from the lack of moisture,
is so very upsetting.

Sometimes having wood floors is a real pain as the dirt shows so easy on them.

I had a not very nice comment on the post I did on the
Warnings about the symbols in adult coloring books!
Some people really do not have any wisdom or manners.
Mean comments will make you feel terrible.

We just think we can all do and say anything we want,
Well, it is a lot like training a puppy!
Good manners and doing things with kindness will bring a good reward!

Not, sure why I wanted another puppy,
Sometimes we all just need a buddy or friend!

And of course security for the ranch is a must...
But this little guy has a basset bark and the height of  a low rider
And the width of a tank...

May I leave a little sound advice?
Do what you can!!
Always use good manners!
Do not allow someone else to define you!
But always be open to wisdom and of course sound doctrine.
Work and carry your burden!
Enjoy the little things!
Plant some seeds this Spring
(In the natural and the spiritual)
Stretch yourself from your comfort zone...

Hormones In All Their Glory...

Living From Glory To Glory Blog...

When I feel the weight of a long day, I tend to seek quiet and comfort.

Our days are a bit like the weather;
Or shall I say a bit like hormones...
I am glad that I am not programed with set responses.

Yet, I do not want to live my days controlled by hormones.
I guess you could say we can't live with our hormones
or
Without them!

As a woman we have been given the gift of hormones!
But as anything if we have to much or to little it can be a problem.

But in our modern day our foods are ladened with hormones,
But these hormones can cause other problems.

We need hormones...
When we are in our teens those hormones can rage.
But as we age, we can become low in certain ones.
I personally have chosen to take a very low dose of Estrogen to help me!
I really did not want to take it, but the quality of life;
Is maybe the better choice right now!

Do you find yourself feeling a bit weepy?

I have found myself feeling weepy in the long evenings.
I find myself crying as I watch Hallmark movies.
I can sit down and look at old photos and feel a sadness that all those
 Sweet memories, have come and gone...
 Yet, it seems like they happened just last week.

I am so thankful to have these photos of my memories as I can see visually
they have played a big part in who I have become today.
And I can also see the changes of our growth.

A wife that has been loved well!
A Mother that had the joy of raising them into amazing adults.
A Grandmother that has a blessed inheritance!

Sometimes I just need a good cry...

WHAAAA...

Saying I Love You...

Friends, Living From Glory To Glory Blog

Saying I love YOU...

~Some words carry weight and life~
Why we must be asking these questions,

Why do you love me?
Why do I love you?

Because without love, we would die a slow and painful death!

We are warned in scripture that the love of most will grow cold...

If I wrote a bestseller book and had not love
If I lived in a mansion and had not love
If I knew hundreds of people, but had no friends;
Love is a commodity worth millions...

Love is a terrible thing to waste,
But we all know we can not love everything that some people are doing!
Love the sinner, hate the sin!

If you have been given the chance to extend true friendship;
Honor it
Grow it
Keep it

I Love You...
Because He first loved me!

What The Different Colors Of Roses Mean...

There is just something so wonderful about the Rose flower...
The smell is intoxicating,
The symbolism is powerful!
A rose is worth a thousand words...

Enjoy a little symbolism that is dedicated to each different color of each rose.
Each color has some special meanings to them!

THE:

Red Rose...

The Red roses are of course the traditional symbol for love and romance.
They say I Love You!
The red rose speaks life!
This rose says beauty and perfection.
A bouquet of red roses is a perfect way to express your deep feelings!

Pink Roses...
A pretty Pink rose is a symbol of grace and elegance.
It is used to convey admiration, or appreciation.
Also the color says joyfulness.
The pink rose is considered the oldest garden rose.

Yellow Roses...
This bright and sunny color of yellow brings feelings of
warmth, happiness and cheerfulness.
this is a great rose to send with a get well wish!
True friendship!
Feelings of joy...

White Roses...
.
Now, the white rose represents innocence and purity.
New beginnings (marriages, births)
A white rose shows honor and reverence.
These are often an expression of  remembrance (death of a loved one)

Orange Roses...
Orange roses speak of desire and enthusiasm.
Energy, passion and excitement.
Fascination
Theses send a meaning message.
Emerging romance.

Lavender Roses...
Majesty, Enchantment,
Love at first sight!

I always love looking at the roses;
Every part of the rose has a special meaning.
The fragrance is heady and speaks of love and romance;
A rose scented oil or a perfume is beautiful!

I think each petal is thick and lush and is a treasure,
when they fall off the stem and dry in the wind!
They can be scattered or placed in a bowl.

Even the thorns can remind us of the sorrows and pain that come
in the life we live each day.

The beginning of a rose bud, speaks of new beginnings;
And beauty is on its way.
Never give up and look for the beauty in each day.

May I suggest you consider buying some roses;
They are worth the beauty and symbolism once in awhile...

Give a gift that speaks love and affection...
To your mate or child or friend
