Arise And Get Up You Sleepy Heads...

File:Helen Allingham - The Staircase, Whittington Court, Gloucestershire.jpg

Artist: Helen Allinham

The staircase is used to ascend and to descend,
We are now in a place where we are being called to come down.
As to awake from your slumber!

Listen! I hear the "voice of my beloved!"

Arise, my darling, my beautiful one, and come with me.
Song of Songs 2:10

Happy Spring and may we awake from the slumber of winter's rest.
He is calling you "Arise"

The world seems like it is coming alive!
Shake off the dust, as it had begun to cling to your boots.
The dust is the lesser things.
My own thinking, laziness, and inactivity in the natural and spiritual.

He calls me by this precious name
"My Darling"
He considers me beautiful!

He has spoken this
"Arise"
Come with me!

Okay, so If He is calling us to come down from are room of slumber,
Then, will we be like children who roll over and go back to sleep?

Sometimes the transition from one stage to another is difficult.
(Remember Labor)
On one hand, I love change and adventure;
But on the other hand, I love the comfort of the sameness...

I think we need to strengthen our legs and especially our thighs,
As I read an interesting article, that said a key for a longer time frame to live-in
un-assisted as we age was seen in those
Women who had stronger thighs (Not Larger)

Arise, and get up my darling, we have laid around long enough!
We have work to do!
Cleaning and planning and doing our Father's business!
Find ways to strengthen the hands that hang down.

I want to share a word of courage and faith with you!
We are more than little fire flies,
But if you feel your light is very little in comparison to others;
You need to know this today, the older or more tired you get.
It is in this darkness of days and maybe getting closer to the night season.
It is this;
Your little light will be brighter, the darker it gets...

Sentimental Christmas

Feelings at Christmas bring such a sentimental touch!
We always long for the sweet treasures we remember as a child.
I cannot help wanting to cry like a baby when I hear
certain songs!

We are blessed and nothing stay's the same...
We are growing and our lives change.
Season's change...
May we never forget all of His provisions!
Love like there is no tomorrow!
For Christ is the same today as yesterday!

MERRY CHRISTMAS

Remember that you are making memories
 for many years to come,
For yourself and those who you are celebrating Christmas with today!

Christmas's Past...

Winter Time, Living From Glory To Glory To glory...

Greetings, To Each and Everyone Of You All !

As we see the days getting darker and the lines being blurred;
Is the time for His Glory to shine!
We will see it getting brighter in those who have
Chosen to be a willing vessel for His Light and His Glory!
Be not dismayed, or allow your thinking too
Grieve the Holy Spirit!
We are to keep our eyes upon Him!
He has a perfect plan!

Take all the memories and those thoughts that
Have saddened your heart...
From Christmas's past because our
Christmas's are  just filled with memories of our childhood,
And some from just hard years we have had to live through.
A death of a loved one!
Maybe a divorce!
And some of these memories are very good ;
But some memories can still cause pain!

I have learned over the years that this is where you
Can practice taking every thought captive!
Because;
Our mind and our thoughts and, our memories become a seed bed,
Of so many things we have lived through and in many cases
We have learned to overcome.
God knew we would have sorrow, and He made provision
In His word to teach us how not to live in the past.
And allow the past sorrows to wound us again!

Allow yourself through His Grace and Love
To enjoy His celebration of His Birth!
Merry Christmas
Roxy

Two Turtle Doves

 Two Turtle Doves
Today is the day the Lord has made!

Rejoice!
We are all so busy and checking our list twice.
I made a very purposeful decision in the last few days.
I will take in every wonderful joyous Christmas song.
I will relish every festive sight of Christmas lights.
I will listen for the anticipation of the Children's excitement!

I will thoughtfully bake something special for my Hubby.
(He has asked for a Pumpkin Pie)
NOT kidding!
No Figgy Pudding I ask?
He said honey, I didn't get one on Thanksgiving,
Because we were with our very special friends (Remember?)

So, I have not baked anything yet; I am waiting till
the right day, so I can take pleasure in it and not
Have to hurry and be stressed.
Besides a Pumpkin pie needs to be fresh...
And do not forget the real Whipped Cream!

We celebrate Christmas Eve with our children who live close by.
(Next Door)
Really, I told you we were close....
Then that way they have Christmas morning at home.
And the other Grandma Neta gets her Grandchildren!

Did I mention that my sweet Hubby
and I have been told we need to
watch our sugar?
(Sweet Hubby; Pun intended!)

Really!! Just before Christmas?
I tell you it's a conspiracy....

Okay, Here is the point of this POST!
I really think I had one..
Sorry it's gone!
Hey... Where's that list I had?

Oh I remember!
I wanted to show you my Hutch, decorated for Christmas!
My sweet friend from Country Pleasures, Sue
Always decorates hers for every holiday!
I love how all my dear Blogging friends inspire me!
I am thankful for your friendship!
I am happy to have you in my life!
I also, love to be challenged by your ideas and insights!

I call you my friends, who take the time to read my post!
I am blessed by those who will leave me a comment...

Will what I say here go up in the pile
of wood, hay and stubble?

I will give my Lord and Saviour all the Glory!
For this is His Blog!

Blessings,
Roxy

Real Or Fake

Here is a picture of a wonderful real living Pine Tree!

Here is another picture of a wonderful Fake Tree!

I wanted to share a couple of thoughts
I have been thinking about lately.
I have purposed in my heart that
This Christmas season was just going to be different!

I could feel it deep in my spirit...

Every new portion and part of the puzzle becomes,
Clearer as we grow and resolve to worship HIM !

This Christmas season I told my Hubby, I think
I would like to get a real tree this year.
He said to me okay if that's what you would like
To do, it is fine with me.

So we went back to a home where many,
Years ago we bought a real tree.
Our children were both very young at the time.

It was a wee bit shocking to see the gentleman
after so many years
That owned and sold real Christmas trees!
Jim's Christmas Tree's
He was very old, and he  seemed quite feeble
and he used a cane to walk.
He was very unstable.
But his smile and kindness was just as I remembered it!
His love for what he did every Christmas was real!
He was a stable man in his purpose.

No Faking it with him;

Can others see through us?
Do we really show the love of Christ?

I must stop myself, and tell God this everyday;
Not my will, but your will be done!

I do not just want to go through the motions!
Put up the tree
(Fake or Real)
Bake Christmas Goodies, till I can't eat a bite!
Wrap gifts till my back hurts!

I want to sit at His feet!!
Lay back against Him and breath.
And feel His heartbeat!

May I  not do another thing,
Till I am quiet and full of His Love,
And may my heart sing loud and clear,
Christmas songs that lift the worlds Fake burdens,
Of what Christ really came to bring!

Blessings,
Roxy

Seize The Day...

Summer Walk, Living from Glory to Glory Blog...

Needing a reprieve from the everyday?
We all so desire a little peace and quiet.
Sometimes we just have to make a little get away for ourselves.
Having a good book to read is great to refresh your mind.

It might just be a walk by yourself in the early morning,
Or taking an evening walk with your hubby.

Or maybe a little ride on your bike!

I always have thought if I lived by the beach I would
Take a stroll upon it every day.
Foot Prints In The Sand, Living From Glory To Glory Blog...
But I am sure that many women who live very close to the ocean,
Can barely find time for it themselves.
And it is right at their feet.

So:
It is not where you live, but rather how you make use of where you live.

We must learn to command our days!
We can learn to train ourselves to orchestrate our days.
We are called to manage our homes.

Learning to manage our time so we can have a little moment of peace daily.
To be running around half frantic is so unbecoming.

I have found myself saying,
Okay, now let's just all take a deep breath.
Just Breath Every One!

I think many are about to get really busy.
We will be canning and putting back our harvest.
Teachers are going back to school.
Many homeshoolers are putting together their
School agendas, for the year.

But alas, summer is not over yet.
Seize the day!

Breath!

Take pleasure today!
Do not let the enemy of your soul.
Steal your God appointed time and day!

Blessings,
Roxy

For Every Season Is A Blessing...

The Movie Grease, Living From Glory To Glory To Glory...

I remember watching this scene of this particular movie.
It was many years ago.
It had just come out in the movie theaters.
I went by myself and I was nine months pregnant.
It was hotter then blue blazes out! :)
It was the only place I could find refuge from the heat.
I was about to give birth to my first child.
I was a wee bit scared!
I was challenged with all the thoughts of becoming a mommy.
And a bit afraid of giving birth also.
So I remember this movie well,
But it is this scene that I loved best!
Sometimes when we are with all the people we are used to
being around we can act a certain way.
But, it is when we are away from all expectations and duties,
is when matters of the heart can be brought forth.
We as woman desire love and commitment.
Because that is the way God made us!
May we take the time to reminisce of our hearts to love.
Our marriage.
The giving birth to our children.
Summer memories.
The milestones you have passed.
What the future still holds.
August is a special month for me, it holds sweet memories!
But, I can say every month has special meanings,
For to every season is the blessings, He has planned for you there.

May your love never grow cold!
Love is the one thing that will give life!

Blessings Always,
Roxy

Animals Just Wanna Have Fun

 Just a swinging !

I can see for miles and miles !

I 'am telling you I see spots !

Making the time to have fun and enjoy all of God's creation!

We are given many reasons and seasons,
It is up to you to take pleasure in joy
right where you are!

We Mommas and Grandmas
And wives, need to let our hair down and have a good time.
We are not suppose to work all the time.
We must have a balance to keep our homes in order,
But also be able to make merry and laugh.

Take some time and make some memories,
Take some pictures and capture your adventures.

May the wind be always at your back!

Blessings,

Easter Wishes

Happy Easter to everyone and may you be blessed with the sweet presence of the Lord as you celebrate His Resurrection.

On the first day of the week, very early in the morning, the women took the spices they had prepared and went to the tomb.
They found the stone rolled away from the tomb, but when they entered, they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus Christ. While they were wondering this (suddenly)
I love the part in the word where the two men in clothes that gleamed like lightning, stood beside them. In their fright the women bowed down with their faces to the ground. But the men said to them, "Why do you look for the living among the dead?"
He is not here; he has risen. Luke 24:1-6

The Passion

He is Alive
This is a picture of a sun set I took one Friday evening!
It was amazing, it took my breath away.
When I looked at it close-up it looked as if there was crosses along the landscape.
I know many Easter's have come and gone,
but I truly feel like I have a better understanding of what my Saviour Jesus did for me!

For Christ has risen!
We do not serve a God who cannot hear.
We do not serve a God who does not see.
He is Alive!

And He is coming again!
At that time the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky,
and all the nations of the earth will mourn.
They will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of the sky,
with power and great glory.
And he will send his angels with a loud trumpet call,
and they will gather his elect from the four winds,
from one end of the heavens to the other.
Matthew24:30-31

I want to ask all of you out there can you feel the earth groaning?
Can you sense the stirring of the Spirit?
It feels like a feeling I have never experienced.
I have pressed into His word and cried out to Him to show us what we need to do in the days ahead? And He has!

Rejoice!
My beloved spoke, and said to me:
The fig tree forms its early fruit;
the blossom vines spread their fragrance.
Arise, come my darling;
my beautiful one,
come with me.
Song Of Songs 2:13

Now, learn this lesson from the fig tree;
As soon as its twigs get tender and its leaves come out,
 you know summer is near.
Even so, when you see all these things,
you know...
that it is near,
right at the door.
Matthew 24:32-33

The Promise Of Spring Flowers And Cracked Pots

I Love A Spring Bouquet Of Flowers

For lo, the winter is past,
The rain is over and gone,
The flowers appear on the earth;
The time of singing has come,
And the voice of the turtledove
Is heard in our land.
Song of Solomon 2:11,12

A New Tea Serving Set

I just wanted to post this lovely tea pot, it came with both
a sugar bowel and a creamer.
It is very old and is from England.

My very kind and generous husband bought this for me,
a few weeks back.

Isn't it just lovely?

We found it at an antique store in our town.
I have never had such a beautiful tea pot.

I was so blessed and happy, I decided to have a
dear friend out for lunch and tea.

Well, to my horror shortly after we finished
our lunch and tea. We noticed a crack on the tea pot,
from the top to the bottom.
I truly did cry!

My husband was so sorry for me...

Well, I still can use the sugar bowl and the creamer!

I will post again showing you what I did with the cracked tea pot!

Happy Spring!

Blessings, Roxy

A Missionary For Ireland

Happy Saint Patricks Day!

This was a man that was a British missionary and bishop who
was used to convert  Ireland to Christianity.
He is the patron saint of Ireland.

It is sweet to see the little girl dressed up and
celebrating this special day of recognition,
for this missionary and Ireland.

Do we make idols of these Saints?
No
But, give honor to those who have gone before us.

Shamrocks and green in color!
Cabbage and new potatoes!
Corn Beef

It is funny how we make  up these little
traditions.
Some have very significant meanings, and others are
just traditions.

Enjoy a bit of the Irish!

SWEET WORDS

Happy First Day of Winter

Today is the new beginning of another season.
May we not grow weary in doing good.

We are in the last few days of Christmas preparation's,
and baking and wrapping and visiting friends.
Family members may be arriving for Christmas.

It may seem like something is coming to an end,
Ye, another season and new beginning is come.

I always like to make a challenge
for myself, each new season.
This season is to:
Be mindful of my words...

SWEET WORDS

Put on tender mercies,
kindness, humility,
meekness, longsuffering.
Colossians 3:12

Sometimes in the hurry and bustle
we can become careless and hurt those
we love ,with our words.
Like one gals blog she said lets not be Grinchy

Instead of hurling angry words
That wound and stir up strife,
Use words of kindness, filled with love,
That heals and nourish life. -Sper

I pray everyday that the Lord
would set a guard over my mouth.

Blessings To All, Roxy

Jolly St. Nick

Jolly St.Nick

I so enjoy the idea of the history of
St. Nicholas.
What the whole history is I don't know,
but the concept is the idea of giving.

It is wonderful to give!
Yet this can be a time where we give things that are
just stuff.

What is it that people really need?

"Not toys or stuff"

But rather something that will not perish
or fad away.

I want to shout from the roof tops to tell everyone,
of the wonderful gift, that was given to me.

My heart jumps with laughter and glee:
For my saviour
JESUS CHRIST
saved me!

So, now let me give YOU,
the gift he has given me.

Ask Jesus to come into your heart,
and ask Him to lead you and guide you
in His narrow way.

Now, you will know the most famous
giver of ALL.

For God so loved the world he gave his one and only Son,
that whoever believes in him shall not perish
but have eternal life.
John 3:16

Have a blessed Christmas everyone!

Blessings, Roxy

Sweetest Season Of All

Sweet Friends

Happy Holidays

There is just such a sweetness of
friends and family
during this joyous time of year!

Make time for your friends
this holiday season.
For they are your gifts from God.

You can just feel the excitement...

The children ,
there eyes really do light up with
anticipation.

There sweetness helps me to not stress!

May we make the time to be a blessing to
someone this time of year.

Enjoy watching Christmas movies!
and
sip a cup of spice tea or hot chocolate,
and address your Christmas cards.

Take pleasure in this season,
and remind yourself this one thing:

JESUS IS THE REASON FOR THE SEASON

Make wonderful happy memories.

This picture makes me think of the days
that were innocent and much more friendly.

A picture does paint a thousand words!

Merry Christmas

Count Your Blessings

Gobble- Gobble!

Happy Thanksgiving

I am taking this time and counting my blessings!

It is so important to give thanks,
it truly opens the heart.

You cannot be counting your blessings, and
be un-thankful at the same time.
So choose blessings!

Count your blessings:
Name them one by one,

1.God choosing and loving me.
2.Having a husband that serves Christ.
3.Having family.
4.Having friends.
5.Being a grandma
6.Being able to study God's Word.
7.Having a home to live in.
8.Being healthy and strong.
9.To be able to worship freely.
10.To be able to love others.

He blesses the house of the righteous.
Proverbs 3:33b

The Great Pumpkin

Harvest Pumpkins

I just love pumpkins!
And I  relish Autumn's harvest

When you see the amazing array of God's colors,
you can know, He loves beauty.

Who doesn't love a pumpkin sitting proudly on a table.
adorned with autumns leaves and pine cones.
I think decorating with the bounties that come from nature
are the sweetest.

Pumpkins are so good for you,
filled with rich (Beta Carotene)

One of my most favorite things made with pumpkin
puree is Pumpkin Bread!

Pumpkin soup is amazing, light and so delicious.
But let us not forget the pumpkin pie,
my hubbies very favorite.
I also make fresh whipped cream just for him!

Also, don't forget to roast your pumpkin seeds!

Next year let's all grow a larger pumpkin patch:)

Taste and see that the Lord is good;
blessed is the man who takes refuge in him.
Psalms 34:8

Blessings, Roxy
